Many Countries

Coal
Where is coal found around Africa? All the coal in Africa is found, in the southern part of Africa. These countries are the following Namibia Zimbabwe South Africa Mozambique Ghana Guinea Where is the coal exported to? 75 precent of the mined in southern Africa is burned in a factory close by to the mine; therefore the actual amount that is actually traded across international borders is a mere 15%. In effect the worlds coal trade only got 1.139 billion tonnes of coal, instead of its demand of 7.384 billion tonnes, of coal. Another problem is that 90% of coal exports must exported on ships, and 10% on other kinds of transportation. This means that the country which exports the coal must have a harbour, a multiple amount of harbours, and ships. Now some countries like Mozambique have insufficient resources, to export the resource. Which countries / companies are now investing in Africa and why? China Germany Eastern Europe Italy Spain Germany Eastern Europe Italy Switzerland By: Vlad Lesotho Liberia Madagascar Mali

Diamond
Africa diamond production? Africa is the largest diamond producer in the world and they have produced over 50% of the worlds diamonds. The most diamond producing countries in Africa are South Africa, Botswana, and Angola. Botswana has the strongest economy in Africa; the DeBeers are one of the Diamond producers in Africa. Places that produce diamond? Mozambique Namibia Nigeria Senegal Seychelles Sierra Leone Swaziland Tanzania Uganda Zambia Zimbabwe

Natural Gas
Natural gas in Mozambique Mozambique is a very poor country but recently in year 2010 they found gas out shore, way north up in Cabo Delgado. They are going to produce / sell a lot of the gas they found in Cabo Delgado in about five to ten years. Instead of transport true long pipes / tubes. They are going to make the gas to L.N.G and transport them in large barrels. So instead of using long tubes or pipes under the water that they have to place, the just move them with boats or ships. It has come more companies like Eia, Statoil and Anadarko, they came to produce Liquid Natural Gas. Anadarko Anadarko is a big company with gas and oil. They heard about the founds in Mozambique and are probably going to invest money in it. If they are going to invest they are going to invest about $25 billion to $30 billion dollars. If they are going to invest they are investing in the production of Liquid Natural Gas in barrel transportation. All the money they have to invest is going to be used on things like port where all the boats are going to be while they are not shipping L. N. G, an building where they are going to make all the gas to L. N. G, pipes/ tubes to transport the gas from of shore to in shore to the building. They have to do it because there is no building, port or pipe/ tube in Cabo Delgado. So yeah thats what all that money is going to. By: Christopher J.

But one of the problems are that they have illegal business of blood diamonds and the can make millions and that can they cause the other terrorists and other illegal groups to make money and then the country will grow increase in term of corruption. Therefore making the shops closed down and then making the prices go higher and eventually the economy will drop immensely. Also the corruption in Africa are very high and they are a lot of opportunities to take bribes. Example in Mozambique if you break a signal then the police will call you over and first say to give him some money or pay the fine. So that is the amount of corruption in Africa and in some places there is a lot more corruption than that. By that I dont think that it will be a good idea to start illegal business. By: Aashish
