Sac Community Center Board of Directors Meeting Thursday September 19th, 2013 7:15PM A regular meeting of the Sac

Community Center Board of Directors was called to order at 7:25p.m., on September 19th, 2013 by Jim Bullock, President, at the Sac Community Center. Other board members present included, Mike Vauble, Sammie Bruce and Kay Martin. Ashley Miller, Director was also present. Brent Wilhelm, Julie Kitt, Teresa Bruening and Jolene Rosauer, Assistant Director, were absent. Jim Bullock had a conflict of interest and therefore did not vote on the approval of bills. A motion was made by Kay and seconded by Jim that the minutes from the August 15th, 2013 meeting be approved. Ayes all. Motion carried. The financial report was reviewed. Mike made a motion to approve the August financial report. Sammie seconded. Ayes all. Motion carried. The bills were reviewed. Sammie made a motion to approve the bills. Kay seconded. Ayes all. Motion carried. Ashley reported that we received a thank you letter from the Summer Lunch Program and that the Summer Lunch Program also donated $250.00. Ashley also noted that we received our allotment from the school. Ashley reported that we currently have 245 members. Last year at this time we had 220 members. Ashley reported that Tony currently has 3 clients. The Pilates class has ended. The 20 year celebration was discussed. It will be held on Saturday, November 9th from 3:00 6:00p.m. Ideas for activities will be further discussed at the next meeting. The homemade ice cream social was on Sunday, August 25th from 4:00 7:00p.m. Ashley reported that Jolene and Dave Rosauer made all of the ice cream and that we had a profit of $228.48. The annual family Halloween party will be on Saturday, October 26th from 6:30 8:30p.m. Business sponsor letters will be sent out next week. Youth football was discussed. Ashley reported that we have 34 total participants and we had a profit of $1,084.81 The before school program was discussed. This program will run every scheduled early out and the bus will come pick up students at the SCC and take them to school. Ashley reported that we had 8 pre registered participants but is expecting more to register the day of. The first day of this program will be September 24th from 7:45a.m. to 9:45a.m. The SCC and Sac City Mens Club punt, pass and sprint is Saturday, September 21st. A basketball fundamentals skills clinic will be held on Monday. October 21st from 1:00 2:30p.m. This is a no school day and is for boys and girls grades 1 st 8th. Ashley reported that William Fewell and Dave Rosauer replaced the shower head in the mens locker room. The pool floor was also discussed. Mike said he will call the floor place so they can come in and give us an estimate. The use of the South side pool door for a handicap accessible entry to the pool was discussed again This idea is still in its early stages and will be discussed in the future. The SCC Friday night hours was discussed. Ashley suggested closing at 7:00p.m. on Friday nights due to low attendance numbers. Sammie made a motion to close at 7:00p.m. on Friday nights starting in October. Kay seconded. Ayes all. Motion carried. During the open forum, Kay mentioned that she talked to the hospital about using the pool for rehab. For an incentive for the hospital to use the SCC, a discounted punch card was discussed. Mike made a motion to approve a $40.00, 10 punch card for rehabilitation patients from the hospital. A written note from the hospital/doctor will be required to qualify for this punch card. Kay seconded. Ayes all. Motion carried. There being no further business, a motion was made by Mike and seconded by Sammie that the meeting be adjourned. Ayes all. Motion carried.
