I yr SUBJECT : Engineering Graphics CODE: GE2111 FACULTY NAME : Mr. P.Murugan Course Aims & Objectives: To develop in students graphic skill for communication of concepts, ideas and design of engineering products and expose them to existing national standards related to technical drawings i. ii. Unit One Expose the students to understand and to draw the various curves and to represent the two dimensional drawing from the pictorial views. Unit Two - Expose the students to understand, fix and draw the orthographic projection of points in four quadrants, orthographic projection of lines, determination of true lengths and true inclinations and orthographic projection of polygonal planes in first quadrant, in lieu with the reference planes. Unit Three - Expose the students to understand the different types of solid and aid them to draw the projection of solids on principal planes when the solids are in different positions. Unit Four Expose the students to understand the concept and applications of sectioning different types of solids discussed in the previous chapters, by positioning the cutting planes with reference to principal planes and hence assist to draw the true shapes of section as well as to develop the lateral surfaces of the cut solid. Unit Five - Expose the students and to create awareness by making 3D Drawings using other types of projections like Isometric and Perspective projections and hence to make them understand on how it differs from Orthogonal projections.
