Students can read and find details from short passages and are proficient in English for their age. Learning outcomes: By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to: 1. Identify and recognize the various cultural background of people in Malaysia; Malay, Chinese and Indian by reading passages and taking out main points. 2. Presenting the information extracted from the passage in a mind map form.

STEP/TIME Set induction (5 minutes)

CONTENT Introduce the topic by giving students a word search on various cultures in Malaysia T- What do you think todays topic is going to be about? Show video on various cultures in Malaysia Brainstorm about more information Teacher makes mind map on board. Group work Read passage and find important details Draw mind map on mahjong paper:

TEACHING-LEARNING ACTIVITIES 1. Teacher gives students a word search where they work on it individually. 2. Get students to brainstorm on the topic that is going to be taught.

Presentation (15 minutes)

1. Teacher shows the students a video clip on Malaysia. 2. Teacher stimulates students to talk about the topic. 3. Teacher makes a mind map on the board of the cultures and writes the answers students are giving.

1. Teacher gives each group a passage to read and find details. 2. Students fill the mahjong paper by making a mind map on the culture they have been assigned with. 3. STEP/TIME Production (10 minutes)

CONTENT Present their mind map to the whole class Add in details after discussion.
