General Characteristics: The lesson that will be conducted is designed for the Year 3 of SK Iskandar.
According to standardized tests students performance levels are average in the subject area of getting know the young animals. However, they can benefit from extra support activities that will help strengthen their knowledge especially in adding new vocabulary for them. The majority of these students are from moderate-income families, they are actively participating in the class.
ENTRY COMPETENCIES
Identify the animals and their young ones. Spell the name of the animal and their young ones correctly and accurately. Pronounce the name of the animal and their young ones correctly and accurately. Exhibit familiarity with the animals and their young ones mentioned in the lesson. Use technical equipment (video, computers) for effective presentations.
LEARNING STYLES
The majority of the students are visual and audio learners. They prefer to see and to hear the input in order for them to understand the lesson.
Students are given a song with video clip to get them know the animals that they will learn throughout the lesson. The students are given some activities to enhance their understanding about the lesson.
All of the equipment (computer and video) needed to successfully complete this lesson are located in the multimedia room. The teacher let the students hear and see the song and video clip to attract their attention and focus about the learning content of the day. After viewing session, the students are given the chance to deepen their understanding to do the activities provided by the teacher.
UTILIZE MATERIALS
Preview Materials:
The teacher prepares multimedia presentation before introducing the lesson to the students. She also searches the Internet and finds song with video clip that offers interesting medium in teaching and learning session.
In preparation of the lesson, the teacher uses the schools multimedia room to let the students experienced interactive learning. In addition, before class begins she make sure that all the technical equipment are functioning well.
The classroom is set-up whereas the children can see the teachers presentation.
The teacher prepares the learners by giving the students an overview of the lesson by asking them animals that they know. The teacher plays the song and let the students hear the song while enjoying the video clip.
The teacher is the catalyst prompting the students to generate their interest about the lesson, preparing the classroom environment with the appropriate materials needed for their class presentations and reinforcing their prior knowledge about animals.
Students are encouraged to participate in all the activity provided by the teacher in order to enhance their understanding and test their memory about the lesson. Individually students will be asked to answer the questions prepared by the teacher that will be the feedback for the teacher to evaluate level of performance of the students in the class.

Were the students familiar with the animals that the teacher provide?
Identification:
Were the students able to identify the young ones of each of the animals listed by the teacher?
Organization:
Were the teacher completely prepared? Was it obvious that the teacher rehearsed her presentation? Was all of the proper equipment setup properly and working for the presentation?
Presentation:
Did the multimedia material function smoothly without any interruption caused by technical problems? Did the teacher shows her interest in teaching and sharing her knowledge with the students?
Content:
Did you use visual aids to enhance your presentation? Did you articulate your thoughts clearly? Did you use audio presentation in the multimedia material?
The teacher was pleased with the sense of pride and effort that was emphasized in the students performance. As the students are familiar and can identify the animals and their young ones introduced by the teacher, it has achieved the objective of the lesson.
