This how-to demonstrates how-to patch FTView SE 6.10.00 (CPR9 SR4) and RSLinx 2.58 (CPR 9 SR4). REMEMBER TO ALWAYS SAVE A COPY OF THE FILE THAT YOUR HEX EDITING SO THAT IF THINGS GO WRONG YOU'D HAVE A BACKUP!!!! ***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
FTView SE 6.10.00 (CPR9 SR3) How-To: 0. Stop the FTView Service: Start > Programs > Administrator Tools > Services > Rockwell Application Services. If this service is not stopped, then you will have problems saving the RSves32.dll after the Hex edit. 1. Install FTView 6.10.00 (CPR9 SR3) and configure MS SQL. I use MS SQL 2005 SP3 Enterprise Edition, which was already configured with sa priveledged rights. This part is very important if you want a smooth install. If you have any questions about configuring MS SQL, I suggest reading a how-to online. 2. Once FTView is installed, open your Hex Editor and search for your RSves32.dll file. rdoman2 has a great illustration of what to look for. File > Open > C:\Program Files\Common Files\Rockwell\RSves32.dll. Once RSves32.dll file is open in your Hex Editor perform the following: Search > Find > 34 02. Remember to use the 'Find Again Down/Up' procedures to locate the right parameters to edit. I have 1 location in the Fxxxx location that I could edit: FC321. If I clicked 'Find Again Down' one more time I'd be in the '19D8CB' range (which is too far down), and if I didn't click 'Find Again Down' enough, I'd be in the Dxxx range (which isn't down far enough). That said, I only have the one Fxxx paramenter which needs to be edited. 3. Change the 34 02 to 30 90 then save the .dll. File > Save > then exit the Hex Editor. 4. Now to install the licens file. Open the ftasystem.lic. C:\Users\Public\Documents\Rockwell Automation\Activations\ftasystem.lic with notepad. Add the following license information to it: *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Cdigo: FEATURE RSVME.STUDIO flexsvr 1.0 permanent 10 VENDOR_STRING=9999999 \ HOSTID=ANY vendor_info="PRODUCT_NAME:RSVME.STUDIO" SN=0000000001 \ SIGN="0034 5678 90AB CDEF 1122 3344 5566 7700 FFFF FFFF FFFF \ FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF" FEATURE RSV.STUDIO flexsvr 1.0 permanent 10 VENDOR_STRING=9999999 \ HOSTID=ANY vendor_info="PRODUCT_NAME:RSV.STUDIO" SN=0000000001 \ SIGN="0034 5678 90AB CDEF 1122 3344 5566 7700 FFFF FFFF FFFF \ FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF"
******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** You could edit the above license information accordingly to suite your needs. 5. Restart the FTView Service: Start > Programs > Administrator Tools > Services > Rockwell Application Services. 6. To check that you've done things right, open yur FactoryTalk Activation Manager > Advanced > Refresh Server. Then click the 'Manage Activations' tab and then 'Refresh Activations'. If all went well, you should now have RSV.STUDIO and RSVME.STUDIO as an Availible Activation.
####################################################################################################################### RSLinx 2.58.00 (CPR9 SR4) How-to: 0. Stop the RSLinx Service: Start > Programs > Administrator Tools > Services > RSLinx Classic. If this service is not stopped, then you will have problems saving the RSwd32.dll after the Hex edit. 1. Once RSLinx Classic is installed, open your Hex Editor and search for your RSwd32.dll file. File > Open > C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\RSLinx\RSwd32.dll. Once the RSwd32.dll file is open in your Hex Editor perform the following: Search > Find > 34 02. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************** 4. Restart the RSLinx Service: Start > Programs > Administrator Tools > Services > RSLinx Classic. 5. To check that you've done things right, open yur FactoryTalk Activation Manager > Advanced > Refresh Server. Then click the 'Manage Activations' tab and then 'Refresh Activations'. If all went well, you should now have RSLINX.EXE and RSLINX.EXE GW (where GW is Gateway) as an Availible Activation.

Why bother cracking licenses when you can live within the grace period (and be "legal")? Just run this batch script when a license expires! (tested on windows XP SP3. you need to make some modifications for Windows 7, but the concept is the same)

Hello, guys!! I followed your instructions to activate the newer softwares of Rockwell Software but the RSLogix 5000 (v19 e v20) and RSNetworx (DN e CN) didn't work. If I start someone of then I get a message error about "grace period". I also followed the tip about a batch file (I'm using the XP SP3 too) and didn't work. Can someone help me about the correct activation mode for RSLgx5k and RSNetworx?
Thanks ######

It works...???? I forgot something very important..... If you are using a laptop...like DELL for example.... do not install the security application programs offered by the manufacurer.... just install only the necessary drivers... Otherwise you have to enter on the MSSQL Console to change some right access for users....and other stuffs you have to avoid....
