Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts Department of Physics (HU), Postdoctoral Fellow November 2007 - Present Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering (MIT), Postdoctoral Associate Advisors: Mikhail Lukin (HU) and David Cory (MIT) Designed and performed proof-of-principle experiments for solid-state nanoscale magnetometry using nitrogen-vacancy centers (NVC) in diamond. Demonstrated a scheme in the vein of quantum non-demolition measurements for enhancing signal-to-noise of NVC spin measurements using controllable nuclear spins in the diamond lattice as robust memories Currently investigating quantum information storage in nuclear spins in single crystalline diamond via optically detected nuclear magnetic resonance and coherent control techniques. Assembled a purpose-built confocal microscope for electron spin and nuclear magnetic resonance studies of NVCs in diamond. Investigated spin properties of endohedral fullerenes (N @C60 ) under optical excitation in order to conrm their utility in NVC based quantum information processors. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Graduate Student Advisor: David Cory September 2002 - August 2007

Proposed and demonstrated scheme for controlling coupled electron and nuclear spins in the presence of anisotropic hyperne interactions. Designed, assembled, and characterized a custom pulsed electron spin resonance spectrometer consisting of a cryogenic probehead, pulsed microwave electronics at 12 GHz, a loop gap resonator. Investigated quantum control pulse sequences for nuclear magnetic resonance systems under

realistic models for instrumentation, include amplitude and phase transients arising from driving tuned resonators. Demonstrated conditional logic gates and analyzed realistic control methods for quantum bits under decoherence-free encodings using an ensemble of organic molecules dissolved in a liquid solvent as a testbed four qubit quantum information processor. Center for Materials Science and Engineering, Summer Research Assistant Advisor: David Cory June - August, 2001

Designed and implemented pulse sequences for two-bit quantum system for achieving complete control over one qubit under a decoherence-free encoding. Columbia University, New York, New York Undergraduate Senior Research in Applied Math and Applied Physics Advisor: Marc Spiegelman September 2001 - May 2002

Investigated feasibility of parallel computation package (PETSc) for use in solving 2- and 3dimensional partial differential equations. Wrote example/benchmark code across multiple processor domains. Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, Summer Research Assistant Advisor: Christopher Durning June - August, 2000
