Union with Christ and with one another is our only safety in these last days.

1.) Unity: Gods Desire Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:20-21 The grace of Christ in the soul is developing traits of character that are the opposite of selfishness--traits that will refine, ennoble, and enrich the life. Amazing Grace 337.3 In order successfully to carry forward the work to which they had been called, these men needed to come into unity of feeling, thought, and action. This unity it was Christ's object to secure. To this end He sought to bring them into unity with Himself. -Acts of the Apostles 20.2 2.) Destroyers of Unity: Selfishness & Self-Seeking And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. The reason for all division, discord, and difference is found in separation from Christ. 3.) What can we do to foster unity at OH? A. Make a Commitment to Walk with Jesus. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. -Ephesians 4:1-3 The secret of unity is found in the equality of believers in Christ. Christ is the center to which all should be attracted; for the nearer we approach the center, the closer we shall come together in feeling, in sympathy, in love, growing into the character and image of Jesus. -1 Selected Messages 259.2 B. Make a Commitment to Love & Help Each Other As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. - Galatians 6:10 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. -Acts 1:14 Acts of kindness performed in secret will bind hearts together, and will draw them closer to the heart of Him from whom every generous impulse springs It will be found at last that the denial of self for the good and happiness of others, however humble and uncommended here, is recognized in heaven as a token of our union with Him, the King of glory, who was rich, yet for our sake became poor. -Amazing Grace 337 4.) The Result of True Unity: When Christ's prayer is fully believed, when its instruction is brought into the daily life of God's people, unity of action will be seen in our ranks.
