FIRST ENGLISH TEST SECOND SEMESTER TEXT: The ugly princess. The King of Djolof had a daughter. Her name was Kumba. Although Kumba was a princess, she was different from her three sisters. The other princesses were very beautiful. Kumba had an ugly face and a humped back. o she had the nickname !Ken "#gul$. %o prince would even look at her and no young man wanted to talk to her. &veryone ignored her and so she never dared to go out. he was very miserable. %ow the Kingdom of Djolof had a great enemy. 't was not another King preparing a siege against it. %o. 't was a wild bull, which caused a lot of damage to the people of Djolof.. There were many hunters in Djolof, but they all feared the cruel and merciless bull. He had killed the most courageous hunters and so the entire population lived in terror. (ne day, the King promised to reward the person who could kill the dangerous bull. Two brothers Demba and amba came to Djolof. They decided to take up the challenge and go hunting the animal. )ith the help of an old woman, they went to the forest. After a long chase, and to the general surprise of the people, they were able to kill the monster. And as a reward, they asked for the hand of Kumba.
