I will allow them to research and learn about the festival by giving them a variety of resources to use when researching the festival. How will this lesson allow for/encourage students to solve problems in divergent ways? The lesson allows them to learn how to work together in their teams to learn the aspects of their day of the festival. They learn how to solve problems by learning how to work with others with a common goal in mind. How will you engage students in routinely reflecting on their learning? While learning of other festivals during the unit we will be able to compare and recall what we have learned about Diwali and Hindu festivals.

How will you adapt the various aspects of the lesson to differently-abeled students? I will adapt to students with translation, visual aids and going over basic vocab we will use when working with ELL students. I will include interactive activities such as the craft, dancing by learning traditional Indian dance, and by having open discussion on the topics as we learn for students with ADD and ADHD. I will try to accommodate all students with clear instructions, interactive lessons, and provide assistance and feedback during the lesson for my students. What opportunities/activities will students be given to revise and improve their understandings and their work? I will provide an exit slip so I know how well the students grasp the material to give me feedback on how to alter my lesson. We will be revising and edition our writing as well and artist statements so we can display the work to teach our school about what we have learned. What opportunities/activities will you provide for students to share their learning in this lesson? The research opportunity will allow them to share their research with their group and classmates.
