VECTURIS endeavours to be an actor for social and economic development. By implementing a pro-active and transparent mode of management, it adds value by putting in place adequate operating systems. Railway Management
VECTURIS globally manages railway operations, covering all aspects of the railway activity, from transportation of mining products to commercial freight and passengers services, from infrastructure rehabilitation and maintenance to new track laying, from rolling stock rehabilitation and servicing to maintenance and enhancement of signalling and telecom facilities. VECTURIS may also be involved in ancillary activities such as multimodal platforms and railway terminals development and management.

Advisory
VECTURIS provides both its subsidiaries/ operated companies and third party customers (mining companies, logistic partners, Government or Conceding Authorities) with technical assistance and rail advisory services. Over the last 20 years, VECTURIS management has been a leading advisor for railway concession feasibility studies, transport planning, investment programming, etc.

Innovation
Driven by its operational requirements, VECTURIS has identified a number of areas where operational performance could be enhanced thanks to new technologies based on specific data transmission, collection procedures and protocols. Some of the main topics studied by the Innovation Department include the automation of rolling stock performance and technical monitoring, improvement of the train stability, optimization of train movement and fuel consumption, early derailment detection, etc.

Procurement
VECTURIS provides procurement services to its operations under management and to third party customers through its central procurement department in Belgium. VECTURIS Procurement Department has an extended experience in railway equipment sourcing and a recognized experience among world leading railway equipment suppliers.

Research & Development

VECTURIS has embarked into an ambitious R&D program to support its operational and technical management. VECTURIS brings to its operations an innovative set of performing tools such as: ATRAC: own global traffic management system, automatically monitoring train movements, rolling stock performance and technical conditions, providing early derailment detection Train Control System: own on-board signalling system based on light third party ERTMS technology IDoRail: own anti-collision system providing maximum traffic safety OpenTrack: third party train simulation software, optimizing train movement, track utilization, optimizing train stability, or optimize fuel consumption.

Safety Management
Maximum safety is a key driver of VECTURIS. Each operation relies on a specific Safety Management System providing regulations and instructions to prevent any operational or occupational incident, and, if case arise, emergency response instructions to incident. Systematic use of personal protective equipment, knowledge and strict application of safety instructions are base principles applied by VECTURIS. We care for our people.

Training & Skills Enhancement

VECTURIS strongly believes in training its workforce, applying the Train-TheTrainer principle. Knowledge transfer and domestic capacity enhancement are other key drivers of VECTURIS management. To support its training strategy, VECTURIS has designed its own complete set of training manuals and is providing each operation with an effective Railway Training Academy. Its key feature is a state-of-the-art locomotive driving simulator assisting the driving force in reaching the safest and most performing driving profile. Domestic talent development is a guarantee to our future.

Environment Consciousness
Rail transport is by nature less detrimental to the environment to its direct road competitor. The protection of the environment and to the social dimension of its activities is of paramount importance to VECTURIS. In all its projects, the management team endeavours to set up a specialized team in charge of the implementation of a consistent environment protection plan fully compliant with national regulations and railway sector policies. By acting responsible, we priorly care for the communities vested along the railway line.

Social & Economic Development

Rail transport development is one of the main pilars of the domestic and regional development. Conscious of its social responsibility, VECTURIS prime objective is to develop its rail operations while contributing to the economic and social uplifting of the communities directly or indirectly linked to the activity. By implementing proximity contracting, the rail operation offers job opportunities (track light preventive maintenance, infrastructure security) to landlocked communities. By providing schooling program for the agents children or supporting local educational system, VECTURIS plants a seed for the future.
