1. Experiment No. 1: Learning to shade with pencil, pencil colors, water colors & poster colors. 2. Material required: cartridge drawing file, shading pencils- 2B, 3B, 4B, 6B, 8B 3. Learning objective: How to use different grades of pencil for shading? How much pressure to be applied while using these pencils? In which direction these tools of shading to be used?

4. Outline of Procedure: Make a Rectangular block 2x3 inch in size on a cartridge sheet. Start shading with 2B Pencil form one side of the block either left or right. Use thicker grades of pencil like 3B, 4B to achieve deeper and darker tones.

5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required shading and sketching techniques. 6. Cautions: The pencils should be used with light pressure of hand on sheet to bring out the texture of the sheet. The direction of using the pencil should be circular to avoid strokes in sketching. Source of light must be considered to create a 3D effect.

1. Experiment No. 2: Cross Hatching, Blending and Frottage 2. Material required: Grades of HB Pencils, Pencil Colors, and Technical Pen 0.5 3. Learning objective: How to shade while creating texture in a quick sketch? 4. Procedure: Make a Rectangular block 2x3 inch in size on a cartridge sheet. Start with 2B pencil making short diagonal lines. Cross these lines thus making cross effect all over the area.

5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required shading and sketching techniques understood and applied with good medium handling skill.

6. Cautions: Pressure of pencil on sheet must be considered as darker and lighter tones will be achieved with a little extra and or light pressure.

1. Experiment No. 3: Drawing objects like square, triangle and circle. 2. Material required: Cartridge drawing file, scale, compass, D Square, technical pencil. 3. Learning objective: Creating three dimensional objects on a 2 dimensional surface. 4. Outline of Procedure: Draw a square with the help of a scale and a D square. Taking a source of light from one side shade the square in specified manner. Draw a triangle with the help of a scale and a compass. Shade the triangle in a specified manner. Draw a circle with the help of a compass. Shade the circle in a specified manner.

5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required shading and sketching techniques understood and applied with good medium handling skills. 6. Caution: Source of light must be taken. Compass must be used carefully to avoid any injuries.

1. Experiment No. 4: Making a still life composition. 2. Material required: Cartridge drawing file, technical pencil, still objects like a ball, box etc. 3. Learning objective: How to compose still objects together? How to illustrate still objects on a 2D surface? 4. Outline of Procedure: Students observe a real still life set in front of them. Make a quick pencil sketch on drawing file. Color the still life with specified color media starting from background, then the middle ground and finally the foreground. Very light strokes of color media are used for the first coat. Second and third coats are applied to achieve gradual shading.

5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required representation of the given still life objects in proper perspective study and coherent application.

6. Caution: All the objects in the still life should be proportionate to each other. Perspective must be observed carefully to achieve a balanced sketch.

1. Experiment No. 5: Perspective drawings 2. Material required: drawing file, technical pencil, scale and compass. 3. Learning objective: How to differentiate between drawings of different dimensions and depths? 4. Procedure: A straight line has 1-point perspective. A square drawn on a drawing file has 2-point perspective. A cube drawn on a file has 3-point perspective. 5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required representation of the given objects or persons with proper perspective study and coherent application of the same.

1. Experiment No. 6: perspective drawings- sketching buildings, outdoor spaces. 2. Material required: cartridge drawing file, technical pencil, eraser. 3. Learning objective: Understanding the importance of perspective in drawing. 4. Outline of Procedure: Students copy the perspective sketches from ready drawings. Students are taken for outdoor sketching. A sketch of a building is drawn with the help of technical pencil, scale. The entrance, windows and all the details in the building must be drawn carefully. The plantation around the building is also drawn. 5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required representation of the given buildings or spaces with proper perspective study and coherent application of the same.

6. Caution: Perspective should be carefully observed.

1. Experiment No. 7: drawing 8 head human figures stick and flesh. 2. Material required: Cartridge drawing file, technical pencil, and scale. 3. Learning objective: How to draw human figures realistically and in proportion. 4. Procedure: Make a straight front pose according to specified measurements. Different freehand poses are made in stick drawing. These stick figures are used further for fleshing thus making a full human figure. 5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required representation of the 8 head idealized human figures on the greek rules of proportion, in stick and flesh. 6. Caution: No caution.

1. Experiment No. 8: Study of human faces. 2. Material required: Cartridge drawing file, technical pencil, and scale. 3. Learning objective: How to draw human face? Learning to draw human face proportionately with geometrical measurements? 4. Outline of Procedure: Make a rectangle of size 1.5x2 inch. Divide the box into halves vertically and horizontally. A freehand oval is made with a pencil, broad on top and narrow at bottom of the rectangle. The oval is made with its edges touching the lines of the box on top, bottom, and sides. Eyes are drawn at vertical half on both sides. Edge of nose is drawn at half of lower box. Lips are drawn further taking half of the portion left after drawing the nose. Ears are drawn on sides starting from the level of eyes and ending at the level of nose. 5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required representation of the facial features. 6. Caution: Drawing of the box should be done carefully.

1. Experiment No. 9: Study of nature- flowers, leaves, fruits. 2. Material required: Cartridge drawing file, technical pencil, colors of different media. 3. Learning objective: How to draw the beauty of nature on 2D surface in different media? 4. Outline of Procedure: Take a real fresh flower. Careful study of the flower is done. A quick pencil sketch is done. The sketch is colored in a specified color media. Similarly fruits and leaves are observed and drawn. 5. Required Result: Learning sheets with the required representation of the nature study.
