DATA INTERPRETATION AND ANALYSIS


In all the bar graphs and pie charts 1 represents not satisfied, 2 represents only slightly satisfied, 3 represents satisfied, 4 represents very satisfied and 5 represents extremely satisfied.

In the answer of the above question 18 respondents replied that they are very satisfied and 8 as extremely satisfied and 17 as satisfied , 6 as only slightly satisfied and only 1 as not satisfied, here we can conclude that most of the respondents are satisfied with the job security aspect in KIIT university.

None of the respondents has written that they are not satisfied with the working conditions and most of them are very satisfied hence we can say that KIIT university provides good working conditions as we also say centralised air conditioned cabins, modern architecture air conditioned classes, etc. Q3 The chances of growth and promotion in my job.

Here there are variations in the answers as we can see there are people who are extremely happy with their promotion and as well as some who are not satisfied here we can say most are happy but unhappiness lies with the non teaching staffs.

Here we can see that most are satisfied and here in KIIT university the teaching staff can use different techniques to teach from time to time and can be innovative at some time and here also the dissatisfaction lies with the non teaching staff as their work is more or less the same always. None of the respondents are dissatisfied here and we can see small amount of slightly satisfied respondents are there, these respondents were those who were highly involved in the administration and had to attend various meetings at times.

32% of the respondents are extremely satisfied and 32% are very satisfied and 16% satisfied but 8% are not satisfied. Q7 The way I am noticed when I do a good job.

Our respondents seems to be quite happy with this aspect of the job satisfaction but we find that 10% of our respondents are quite unhappy.

Satisfaction of the employees in this aspect is quite good as 17 respondents are satisfied and 17 very satisfied some level of dissatisfaction is also there which may be because some of them has joined the academics line after a huge industrial exposure and more salary there. In this particular question we can see that the responses are normally distributed with most satisfied and some extremely satisfied and not satisfied.

Here 50% of the employees are very satisfied and 16% extremely satisfied this shows staffs in KIIT university enjoys the work which they does and some 4% level of dissatisfaction lies because of corporate to academic switch over. Q11 Training and development activities performed by my employer.

1 22% 29% 2 3 4 5 33% Training and development activities are quite good as we can see that 33% of our respondents are satisfied and 29% are very satisfied and 8% extremely satisfied and 22% slightly satisfied and only 8% dissatisfied. This differentiations occurs because there are different trainings for teaching and non teaching staffs like faculty development programs only for teaching staff and management development programs for non teaching staff and most teaching staffs are from corporate background so this low level of satisfaction lies.

46% Here 46% of the respondents are satisfied and 20% of the respondents are slightly satisfied and 8% dissatisfied and only 16% very satisfied and 10% extremely satisfied. Here we can see though respondents have some level of satisfaction but not very high. Q13 The social position in the community that goes with this job.

Here 27 respondents out of 50 respondents are very satisfied and 6 extremely satisfied. KIIT university is a very renowned institution in Odisha and its sister organisation KISS has an international reputation these enables one to have a good social position when working here.

36% of our respondents are satisfied and 38% of our respondents are very satisfied and 10% of them are extremely satisfied, 14% slightly satisfied and 2% dissatisfied. Q15 The friendliness of my co-workers.

Here we can see that 23 out of 50 respondents are very satisfied and 8 extremely satisfied and 13 satisfied. Hence we can say that in KIIT university most employees works cordially.

Q Are you satisfied with the infrastructure or do you want any change? In response of the above question most of the respondents said that they are satisfied. Some respondents suggested some possible changes which would be beneficial includes a larger library so that more books can be kept, one said that the infrastructure is good but there needs to have a more structured system and policies, some suggested that there should be some modifications in terms of maintaining the confidentiality of various jobs. There should be a faculty common room was also a suggestion, betterment of IT infrastructure was also a need in terms of better audio and video systems. Another respondent suggested the need of more class rooms, some suggested the need to increase in infrastructure from a design institutes point of view like board meeting room, design display, research centre, reception, studio etc

Q Whether you will ask someone else to join this organisation and why? In response to the above question most of the respondents said they will definitely ask others but another issue came in front that there is no referral system here and some wants that it should be created. The major reasons for referring somebody was that brand value, job security, less of office politics, satisfactory growth opportunities, less interference in ones day to day job, good work culture, organisation in employee friendly, to develop ones talent initiatives and also to develop their career goals, good learning exposure, greater freedom at work place, growth potentials in context of creativity, good reputation of the institute.

Q Are you satisfied with your employer and why? Most of the respondents are satisfied with their employer and thinks that their employer is kind hearted, supportive, given free hand to work with, there is minimal interference, academic freedom, parity, much better than other employers of the times, no routine jobs, the employer contributes to the growth of the employees in a good way, freedom, cooperative, good guide etc. But there are some who are not quite satisfied and thinks such because of less growth opportunities, ambiguity, less salary compared with their responsibilities.

Q What measures do you suggest that can increase the satisfaction level of employees of KIIT university? Some training and development activities, group cohesiveness and team development, periodical employee activities to boost the morale of the employees, employee wellness programs, job rotations which may enhance the task and people skills, cooperation among staff members, clarity of roles and responsibilities, more professionalization, reward system, incentives based on performance, more systematic procedures, innovative and latest ways of teaching learning activities, more time and space for research activities, flexible work hours, two day weekends, more equipments and good laboratories, rate of D.A. should match that of the central government employees.
