OBJECTIVE
Arizona and NREMT paramedic, PALS provider, ACLS provider, WMI WEMT, AHA CPR
instructor,
I have worked both as a field EMT and paramedic for Life Line Ambulance Service since 1996. I
estimate I have treated around 3,000 patients during my service there. I have had to hike in to
treat patients from time to time, usually less than 2 miles, and have taken part in extended
operations, extrications, and rescues.
WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE
The majority of my wilderness experience comes from the Marine Corps where I led small unit
operations in the Philippines, and Okinawa, as well as a three month sea service deployment with
brief operations in Australia, and Indonesia. When stateside, I participated in extended operations
in the desert environment of 29 Palms, the hills of Camp Pendleton, fighting wild land fires in
Washington State, and counter drug operations in Angeles National Forest. I now enjoy hiking,
biking, and camping with my family and friends around Arizona.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience began in the Marine Corps as well, as I frequently taught “hip pocket”
classes in the field, and occasionally formal classes in garrison. More recently, I have been
teaching full time for Yavapai College. I have taught EMT basic, EMT refresher, AHA CPR, Law
Enforcement First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, and Paramedic classes.
AVAILABILITY
I would very much like to offer the WMI list of courses through the college where I am now full
time faculty. If so, I would be able to offer courses year round. If I am needed to travel in order
to teach a course elsewhere, I would be available to teach during the summer and winter breaks
and on a limited availability during the fall and spring semesters
