UNITS OF MEASUREMENT Select the Units of Measurement to be used by clicking on the Option Button above the appropriate column. Measures identified with a double asterisk (e.g. **Pressure**) are referenced throughout the questionnaire. If your project is using something other than the standard units shown, choose the Other option. Then copy and paste the units from the standard that comes closest to what you are using. Finally, modify the individual units in the Other 2 column to suit your requirements. Note, superscripts will not display in cells that make reference to the Units of Measurement table (e.g., ft/s in the table will transfer as ft/s2 to any cell referencing it). Therefore, it is recommended to avoid the use of superscripts.

UTILITY CONDITIONS Whenever practical, utility conditions should be set to provide optimum economy for the overall project. This optimum varies to some extent with the process being considered and the size of the project. The following data should be filled in by the Client where there are specific preferences, or tie-ins with other facilities. Any tie-ins with other facilities should be specifically noted and any required import or export quantities given (maximum, normal, or minimum). If the main flow originates outside battery limits, all conditions should be specified at battery limits, with pressures at grade. The location where the lines cross the battery limits must be specified. If the flow originates within battery limits, but the conditions are specified by the Client for some reason, then the location where the conditions are measured must be specified, because there can be a significant pressure drop in long headers.

ECONOMIC EVALUATION CRITERIA In order to develop an optimum design, it is frequently necessary to make economic evaluations to compare possible alternatives. Please list below the costs that are to be used for all raw materials, utilities, and products when such economic evaluations are made. In developing this list, it is more important that the various values be internally consistent than that any one item be an accurate market price. In addition, please give any desired economic criteria such as interest rate, labor costs, and payout time required and the formula to be used to calculate the relative attractiveness of alternate schemes.
