INTERPOL WASHINGTON
INTERPOL Washington, the United States National Central Bureau, serves as the designated representative to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) on behalf of the Attorney General. INTERPOL Washington is the official U.S. point of contact in INTERPOL's worldwide, policeto-police communications and criminal intelligence network. A component of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), INTERPOL Washington is co-managed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding that ensures a continuing commitment to the guidance and oversight of the organization and reinforces its role in effectively sharing and exchanging international criminal investigative and humanitarian assistance information.

As INTERPOL personnel you are responsible for promoting a neutral and mutual assistance of international law enforcement agencies. In each department your role is to be liaisons between each other member counties.

! You must have a minimum of two years experience in a detective environment ! Must comply to all physical and mental exams prior to acceptance of a job offer ! You must have computer skills and Crime Administration System background ! Not required but helpful of a foreign language

Division Highlight:

Trafficking and Child Protection Division


The Human Trafficking and Child Protection Division supports domestic law enforcement agencies by providing investigative assistance and serving as a dedicated channel for exchanging intelligence with INTERPOL member countries to counter the transnational, mobile, and clandestine nature of the criminal organizations and violators who commit human trafficking offenses. The Division also works with domestic and foreign law enforcement authorities, as well as nongovernment organizations, to locate missing and abducted children, combat child sex tourism, track the international movements of registered and non-compliant sex offenders, and end the production and distribution of child sexual exploitation images worldwide (United States of America:Department of Justice, 2012).
