Fourth Sunday of End Time

Christ is the eternal and all-powerful ruler of heaven and earth. We end the Church Year and await His Second Coming with a grand confession of faith and hymn of adoration to our Glorious King, Jesus Christ our Lord. It is the color of the Triune God and eternity; of the robe of the glorified Christ and of the angels and saints in heaven; of perfection, joy, purity.

participation in the Blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the Body of Christ? Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf. Those who celebrate the Sacrament together are expressing unity with both each another and Christ Jesus their Savior. When the faith publically confessed by the participants is unified, what God gives us in the Sacrament is pure Gospel and a truly a blessed communion and union with one another and our God. But if there is disagreement concerning Gods Word underlying a celebration of the Sacrament, its intended purpose is spoiled and those involved are improperly declaring unity where unity does not fully exist. The Lords Supper is truly a most high and intimate expression of unity. Paul writes in I Corinthians 10:16-17: Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a

Welcome in the Name of Christ!

We pray that you enjoy your time with us and that your spirit is enriched as we together sit at the feet of our Savior. Gods richest blessings be on you! Bathrooms are located in the north and south side of the entryway as you go down into the basement. The mens is on the north side and the womens on the south side. A small Nursery with a changing table and rocking chair is in the back of church on the south side; a carpeted play area is found in the basement; and black activity bags are available in the entryway. If you would like talk to Pastor about anything, catch him after worship or give him a call at 507-648-3601 (Cell: 507-276-5225).

Our practice as it involves the Lords Supper is based on a deep reverence for God and His Word; it is based on our profound respect for the purpose of the Sacrament; and it is based on a deep desire to in every way honestly, accurately, and clearly confess all of Gods Word to the world. Therefore, those who are not yet fully united to us are cordially invited and encouraged to speak with Pastor or an Elder so that we may work together for the truth (III John 8); for when spiritual unity is achieved on the basis of Gods Word, outward unity can and will be joyfully celebrated. Those who have declared their unity with us, either by their membership here or by their membership in another congregation with which we are unified, are cordially invited to express that unity at the Lords Table.

Our Sermon Hymn, You, Lord, Are Both Lamb and Shepherd, is from Christian Worship Supplement and is printed for you on the goldenrod insert.

First Lesson: Jeremiah 23:2-6 Therefore this is what the LORD, the God
of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done, declares the LORD. I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing, declares the LORD. The days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.

Second Lesson: Colossians 1:13-20 For he has rescued us from the

dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Gospel Lesson: Luke 23:35-43 The people stood watching, and the

rulers even sneered at him. They said, He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One. The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself. There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: Arent you the Christ? Save yourself and us! But the other criminal rebuked him. Dont you fear God, he said, since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong. Then he said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.

Announcements Continued
MVL Travelling Choir and Dinner: On Sunday, December 8th, the travelling choir from MVL will join us for our morning worship service! Following the service we will be having a dinner for the choir, members, and visitors. The Church Council will be taking care of the main dish and members are asked to bring side dishes and desserts. Thanksgiving Service: Our annual Thanksgiving Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 7:00 pm in the church. This service will be in place of the regular Wednesday Evening Service; all members, guests, and visitors are invited and encouraged to use this opportunity to thank God for all His blessing and grace this past year New Sunday Evening Bible Class: Beginning Sunday evening November 24th, we will be starting a new series in the Sunday Evening Bible Class entitled Whats in a Name? Old Testament Names for God. It will be presented by MLC President Pastor Mark Zarling. This Bible Class will be held Sunday evenings beginning at 7:00 pm in the church and will usually run about an hour. It will explore the meaning and significance of various names for God in the Old Testament. We look forward to seeing you there! Hospital Visits: If you or a loved one is going to be in the hospital for surgery, tests, etc., please call Pastor Prell and let him know. He will add you to the Prayer Chain (if you wish) so that others can join in prayers for you. This also helps Pastor know who he needs to visit; due to health care regulations concerning privacy, hospitals no longer publish who is in the hospital. Thanks in advance for your help!

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another. Hebrews 10:25 I rejoiced with those who said to me, Let us go to the house of the LORD. Psalm 122:1

Announcements
Church Decorating: The time is quickly approaching for us to decorate the House of the Lord in anticipation of the celebration of His birth! There are a couple of Sundays which would work well this year: December 1st is the first Sunday in Advent and is open; December 8th is busier with MVL singing and the dinner following, but would perhaps have the advantage of having people there and a lunch ready to go. In the next couple of weeks please give Pastor some feedback as to what would work best for you so we can pick a Sunday within the next few weeks. Thank You! Christmas Giving Tree: The Giving Tree organized by the Ladies Evening Circle is back again this year! They invite members to take an envelope off the tree and buy a gift for that person whose name is found in the envelope. This years list is primarily made up of congregational shut-ins and the elderly. If there is a person youd like to get a gift for and youre not sure theyre on the list, please talk to either Becky Prell or Elaine Steffen. If you would like to deliver the gift yourself, you are more than welcome to; if you would like the Ladies Evening Circle to deliver your gift, please have it to church by Sunday, December 15th. Sunday School Christmas Practice: The Sunday School has begun work on their parts of the Christmas Eve Service. Information will be sent to parent concerning each childs parts, songs, and other details. Christmas for Kids: Our annual Christmas for Kids event will be held Saturday, December 7th, as part of Hometown Christmas. We will once again be in the front part of the City Building and will be up and running from 10:00 am through 2:00 pm. If youd like to help with setting up, taking down, or helping the kids with the activities please talk to Becky Prell as soon as possible! We be looking for two shifts of three people each to cover the morning and early afternoon to help the kids with games and crafts. Ladies Aid Christmas Luncheon: The Ladies Aid will be holding their annual Christmas potluck luncheon on December 4th at 12:00 pm in the church. As always, all women of the congregation are invited; this invitation also extends to the husbands of women attending as well! Mark your calendars and well see you then!
