High Security Cylinder System The Primus system offers a new dimension in high security cylinders and key control. The system features a specially designed, patent protected key which operates a choice of Underwriters Laboratories Listed 20-500 series, Controlled Access 20-700 series and standard cylinders all in one integrated key system. Primus cylinders are compatible with Schlage's A, AL, B, C/D, E/B, H, L, L-Mediterranean, Mediterranean Collection Elite Series, S, S200, CL and PL-Series locks. Five security levels are available to provide the choice on key control, convenience, and service which best meets the demands of the installation.

Applications: Fine homes, multi-family housing, retail stores, office and commercial space, schools, universities, hospitals, industrial sites, and wherever key control and physical security are important concerns. Certifications: 20-500 High Security cylinder U.L. 437 Listed; ANSI A156.5, 1992, Grade 1. 20-700 Controlled Access cylinder ANSI A156.5, 1992, Grade 1 Operational. Finishes: Primus mortise and rim cylinders are available in 605, 606, 611, 612, 613, 625, 626, 629, and 630. Cylinder plug furnished in 606 and 626 only. Interchangeable core mortise and rim cylinder housings are available in 605, 606, 611, 612, 613, 625, and 626. Cores are furnished in 606 and 626 only. CL-Series cabinet locks are available in 605, 625 and 626. Cylinder plugs furnished in 606 and 626 only. PL-Series padlocks are available in 452 (brass) finish only. Keying: Primus allows integration with existing standard Schlage key systems by utilizing a Primus key to operate both the 20-500 and 20-700 series cylinders as well as Schlage standard pin tumbler cylinders. Primus cylinders may be master or grandmaster keyed. Primus keys can be cut to operate all cylinders, while standard keys will not even enter Primus cylinders. Primus Cylinders can be used in conjunction with SITEMASTER 200 key control management software, for highly effective key control.

Performance Features
The Schlage Primus High Security cylinder is precision built to extremely close tolerances and the highest standards of quality. These dual-locking cylinders consist of two independent locking mechanisms, operated by a single specially designed Primus key. In addition to a standard 6 pin tumbler mechanism there is a locking sidebar which is independently controlled by a set of 5 fingerpins that interface with the side-bit milling (SBM) on the patented Primus key. Primus cylinders are offered in two different versions. The 20-500 High Security series which is U.L. Listed and the 20-700 Controlled Access series which offers the same key control protection when U.L. Listed cylinders are not necessary. Both series are fully compatible in application and can be combined into the same masterkey system, along with other Schlage standard cylinders. For added flexibility, all Primus cylinders can be retrofitted into existing Schlage locks as well as many competitive products.

Cylinders
Primus 20-500 High Security Series, U.L. Listed 20-500 Series cylinders are available in mortise, rim, and key-inknob versions. They are distinguished by the presence of hardened components and hardened steel pins incorporated in the cylinder plug to protect it from drilling and other forcible means of attack. These features in combination with the dual-locking technology of the Primus mechanism have passed the stringent laboratory tests for drill and pick resistance in order to become Underwriters Laboratories Listed (UL 437). Primus 20-700 Controlled Access Series 20-700 Series cylinders are available in mortise, rim, key-inknob, and interchangeable core versions. The 20-700 series features the same high level of key control through the patent protected Primus key at a substantial savings over the 20-500 series. It is designed for doors that require the ultimate in key control as well as the significant pick resistance provided by the dual-locking principle.

Keys
All Primus cylinders use the Schlage nickel silver key embossed with the Schlage Lock Company logo, the Primus key patent number and the words DO NOT DUPLICATE. Each key goes through our patented side-bit milling process which includes machining of the key to exact geometric patterns. The design of this product is patent* protected and prohibits key duplication by any other manufacturer.

The Primus I.D. card is issued by the servicing locksmith or dealer who directly supports the system owner. The owner must present the I.D. card in order to obtain duplicate keys or service/ additions to his system. Security Levels
The Primus system features five different levels of security. Security increases from Level One through Level Four providing different restrictions for key acquisition. Each level requires an appropriate I.D. card and/or signature verification for key duplication. All levels utilize Primus cylinders and keys which are patent protected against unauthorized duplication. To select the proper level of security, consideration should be given to the overall key control, convenience, and service required for the installation. Security Level One One standard side-bit milling is allocated to Primus Level One. Cylinders and keys are available on a local stock basis. Level One provides the flexibility of local keying and integration into most existing Schlage key systems. Key control is in the hands of the owner who holds an I.D. card for the purpose of acquiring additional keys. Level One is serviced through qualified Schlage Primus Level One Locksmiths.

Security Level Two At this level, local service and inventory of Primus patented keys and cylinders are available but on a more restricted basis. Level Two offers the customer a dealer exclusive side-bit milling. The Primus Level Two dealer cuts all keys and performs all keying services after validating the Primus I.D. card and verifying the customer signature. Factory masterkeying is available.

Security Level Three At Level Three, the Schlage factory maintains control of the Primus key system. The side-bit milling is assigned to each installation based on the first 2 digits of the zip code. Product may be furnished factory keyed or 0 bitted for local keying by the end-user or their local locksmith. Installation data and authorized signatures are controlled by the Schlage factory. To obtain key blanks, duplicate keys, service parts, or additions to a factory masterkeyed system, signature verification is performed by the factory.

Security Level One-Plus Primus Level One-Plus combines the convenience of locally stocked keys and cylinders with the enhanced security of multiple side-bit millings distributed on a limited basis. The Level One-Plus Center locksmith cuts all keys and performs all keying services after validating the Primus I.D. card and verifying customer signature.

Security Level Four As with Level Three, the Schlage factory maintains control of Primus Level Four key systems. Side-bit milling combinations are assigned by one of two methods. For those sensitive installations requiring stringent regional security, a side-bit milling exclusive to the installations time zone will be assigned. For sites with optimum security requirements, a nationwide side-bit milling exclusive to that installation can be assigned. Product may be furnished factory keyed or 0 bitted for local keying by the end- user or their local locksmith. Keying, key records, installation data, and authorized signatures are controlled by the Schlage factory. To obtain duplicate keys or request additions to the system, signature verification is performed by the factory.
