Smog/air pollution in the environment

I've chosen to write about the effects of smog in not just our state, or our country, but the entire environment worldwide; and I know that its worse in some places than others, but still it is a major issue all over the world, and I feel that in many cases we as a people can do something to at least lower the amount of smog we are emitting into the air with our vehicles especially, but not just our vehicles. Many of our factories today are polluting the air much more than I feel is necessary and I know Im not the only one who feels that this is an issue or even that many people can do something about it to, at least help lower it. One example of this terrible mess that we are making is a tragedy thats happening in China today. Chinas youngest lung cancer patient is an eight year old girl and Time magazine says Doctors at a hospital in costal Jiangsu province blamed the girls condition on pollution, According to a state media. The child, who has not been identified, reportedly lived near a busy road and was exposed to harmful particles and dust

I mean the issue is so bad that many people cant even walk the city streets without wearing a face mask because the air is so bad that you will probably get some type of disease; and maybe not, but even if you dont get sick than I cant even imagine how hard it would be t o breathe in that air. Many people dont feel that air pollution or smog is even that big of a deal, but if its giving people lung cancer than thats a pretty big deal and it is a very serious issue th at must be better addressed so that people better understand what air pollution is doing and how it is affecting people all over the world today. And its not just in China According to one of the recommended databases opposing viewpoints there is a problem with air pollution in our very own country that they are addressing in California and the bon fires that people are starting there, the website says that especially in Southern California, where the pastime has become an icon of the season. However, the Southern California Air Quality Management District (AQMD) is looking to ban bonfires, citing concerns about pollution and climate change.

This is something so simple that many people dont even realize that what theyre doing is harmful to the environment, and I'm not saying that I'm perfect or anything like that because I know that I'm not because honestly I had no idea that bon fires made so much air pollution before reading this article to be honest I never really even thought about it at all so I guess that its something to remember the next time I go camping

This article also states that "One fire pit burning one night, a few hours, a couple bundles of wood, emits as much as one average diesel truck on the road today driving over 500 miles," this is crazy! And I had no idea, and I'm sure that many others dont either. On one of the articles I read than it said that increasing in renewable fuels will help to lower the air pollution According to CQ Researchers The president's proposed "Clear Skies" initiative would allow industries to buy pollution credits from cleaner plants as an alternative to installing equipment to reduce emissions. I think that this is an interesting idea and maybe it could be a benefit to our environment. Another interesting website I found was the Encyclopedia Britannica it talks about air pollution and what it does to our population it says that air pollution, release into the atmosphere of various gases, finely divided solids, or finely dispersed liquid aerosols at rates that exceed the natural capacity of the environment to dissipate and dilute or absorb them. These substances may reach concentrations in the air that cause undesirable health, economic, or aesthetic effects. For my reflection I would just like to say that I feel that we can do something about the smog and air population in our environment much more than we are and that there is so much that each individual can do to help this issue even if its just something as simple as the idea of turn your key, be idle free and just maybe turn our cars off any chance that we can and not just be sitting in an idle position. And even the workers in the factories I'm sure that they could probably do something even if its just something small I think that they should do whatever they can to help our environment with this issue. I also learned that there are many other things that can make the population worse than just the obvious things that everyone already talks about. Like the example of the bonfire that I gave earlier.
