Weekly Devotional
Fear and Faith are always battling within us. The passages listed below for your reading and studying this week center on a feeding your faith. The goal is not elimination of fear but rather placing your fears in the context of your faith in Jesus Christ.

Acts 9:1-19 Before Paul began his work to expand the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God struck him blind for three days. Acts 13:1-12 Paul and Barnabas dealt with a man named Elymus who for a time was unable to see the light of the sun. Both of the passages above teach there are times when God favors blindness to bring about faith. The remaining passages this week speak to gaining sight. John 9:1-41 The man born blind was healed by Jesus, but then questioned by the religious leaders. What God does to move us from fear to faith becomes our testimony. 2 Corinthians 4:1-18 Wow! This passage speaks very clearly to blindness which is our condition before Jesus enters our hearts. After accepting Jesus we can proclaim, Therefore we do not lose heart. (verses 1
and 16!)

Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; GIVE THANKS TO HIM AND PRAISE HIS NAME. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. I saw a bumper sticker recently that read Thanksgiving leads to Thanksliving! Our nation will pause this week to celebrate thanksgiving a commendable effort in the eyes of our Lord! But as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ lets take it one step further rather than a day on the calendar lets mold our lives every day around the goodness of the Lord and embrace thanksliving! He is good all the time!! Cheering you on serving our Lord looking up because Jesus is coming back. Pastor Reid

The Christmas Celebration Begins This Sunday!

This coming Sunday, and continuing throughout December we will bring into focus again the entrance of Jesus Christ into this world through the humble manger of Bethlehem. His first entry was quiet and known only by a few people. But His second coming will be an unmistakable event known by all people. It is my hope we will not only celebrate Jesus birthday but also realize God is bringing about a new birth in our hearts as we turn another corner in seeing the advancement of the kingdom! Listed below are the highlights of the season! Pastor Reid

December 1 Church Membership Service Last Sunday to bring your canned food donations to be distributed by Allied Churches of Alamance County. December 8 Last Sunday to bring your Christmas cards for active families in the congregation. After worship we will have our Christmas Covered Dish Luncheon. The Venue will be adorned with poinsettias that have been given in memory and in honor of loved ones. December 15 We will be blessed in worship as Ragan Riddle shares her testimony. Ragan is a beautiful young lady who was diagnosed a little over a year ago with cancer. She has been through treatments and now the cancer is gone! Her testimony will be inspirational. December 22 The poinsettias will be dedicated and taken home by the donors. The service will include Christmas carols and a message I am very excited about from Gods Word. December 29 This Sunday between Christmas and the turning of a new year will be unusual. Holy Communion prayers for the coming year and revelations about Faith Christian Churchs entry into 2014 will be shared.

A great new year is on the horizon. December will be a time to plow the ground and allow God to sow the seeds that will make 2014 a memorable time for the church!
