The Laguna has come equipped with an impressive range of features, which include the latest techniques and technologies and are aimed at providing a unique and comfortable driving environment.
Travelling Comfort
The Laguna Interior is logical and uncluttered,an interior where all occupants are treated equally within a cabin whose colours are above all clear and luminous. Inside the Laguna II the overall feeling and travelling comfort express the Renault philosophy of enhancing life on board. Comfortable adjustable front seats, integrated CD/Radio sound system,Air conditioning and Keyless "Renault Card" entry system deliver a relaxing environment for both passenger and driver.
Active Safety technology Safety is one of Renaults strategic objectives in the development of its vehicles. Renault leads
the way in crash safety in four sectors having been awarded four stars in EuroNCAPs crash tests with Clio, Megane, Scenic and Espace. For the Laguna II, the manufacturer has developed a new range of active safety equipment, in addition to work carried out on the fundamentals of stability, handling and braking, as well as passive safety systems for the front and rear seats. These additional safety features have helped the Laguna II win five stars in the crash tests run by independent consortium EuroNCAP. It was the first vehicle on the European market, all segments combined, to achieve that score.
These safety features include ABS with EBV (electronic brake force distribution) and Emergency brake assist Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Driver and Passenger adaptive front airbags Side thorax airbags on front seats Side curtain airbags front and rear Front Safety belts with load limiters and pretensioners 3 point safety belts on rear seats with load limiters on side places Close contact front head restraints (Sport and Supersport only) 3 folding rear head restraints Isofix child seat attachment system on two of the outer rear seats
The Laguna II Hatchback & Prestige aims to meet the ever changing needs of everyday driving in terms of space, safety and style.
The Prestige in particular has that added extra practicality while maintaining the same level of driving pleasure. 60/40 spilt fold rear seats are standard throughout the range and along with flat floor and low tail gate access deliver a spacious load carrying area which allows for a greater degree of flexibility for todays demanding lifestyles.
Throughout the Laguna II Hatchback and Prestige range there has been an intelligent and a practical use of space. The Laguna II innovative cabin is brimming over with clever solutions and storage problems.
There are storage areas in the front doors, in the front and rear armrests and behind the front seats as well as drinks holders in the front and rear.
Youll also find additional features such as cargo anchor hooks, spare power points on the centre console, rear console and boot.
Innovation is standard The Laguna II is a car with a high technological content, but it still remains faithful to the
Renault spirit: the technology is abundant but discreet, with simplified man-machine interfaces. The Laguna II is innovative but with the emphasis on being user friendly with new features such as...
Keyless Central locking and ignition system This clever innovation is standard on all Laguna models. It replaces the traditional key with credit card sized Renault Card that allows you to lock and unlock all doors by pressing a button on the card. Once inside, slide the Renault card into the reader slot and the car having identified the card, the security system releases the engine immobiliser and the electric steering column lock. To drive away just press the start/stop button. When you have reached your destination just press the start/stop button. Its simple and ingenious as that.
Tyre Pressure Monitor Correct tyre pressure is sometimes an issue that is overlooked but is essential for safe roadholding. Renault has taken decisive action over this important safety issue by installing a Tyre Pressure Monitor. Inside the inflation valve on each wheel there is a sensor that acts as an early warning system against problems associated with loss of tyre pressure. Information is transmitted by coded radio signal to identify which wheel to an on-board computer, which checks against the speed of the vehicle and informs the driver as necessary. An LED display on the dashboard alerts the driver to a developing tyre situation , advising whether it is a case of "Service" or "Stop.
Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBV) All versions of Laguna II have ABS braking systems incorporating EBV (Electronic brake force distribution). They benefit from the latest generation Anti-lock brakes with EBV and disc brakes front and rear. The EBV system employs a series of sensors that constantly monitors the braking pressure being applied to each wheel and constantly adjusts the pressure to each individual brake disc to achieve the optimum level of braking force required.
Emergency Brake Assist Often, the difference between an accident and an escape can be measured in a handful of yards. Laguna II is equipped as standard with an emergency brake assist system that allows all the power of the brakes to be deployed much more quickly, thus reducing stopping distances. This system also ensures that maximum pressure is maintained on the ABS braking as long as the drivers foot remains in contact with the brake pedal. For the safety of following cars the hazard warning lights come on automatically when sustained pressure is applied to the brake pedal.
Intelligent seatbelts and airbags This new technology allows the variable volume airbag and seatbelts to work in tandem for the best possible protection of driver and passengers. The two safety devices can measure the intensity of any impact, allowing them to distribute the energy at the right level and where it is needed most. Sensors can detect the position of the driver so the airbag can be deployed with maximum effectiveness in the event of a crash. Front and rear outer seats are fitted with seatbelts pre-tensioners and load limiters to reduce to a minimum the impact on the chest and shoulders. The driver's side seatbelt is fitted with two pre-tensioners.
Xenon Headlamps Another innovative new driver aid system are the complex surface xenon headlamps that together with dynamic height correction increase beam range by 30% and allow better light distribution for driving at night thus both increasing driving enjoyment and increasing safety parameters.
