DISCHARGE PLAN Diagnosis: Cervical Cancer A.

Medications Medication Post Op: Ciprofloxacin 500 mg 1 tab 3 times a day PO for 7 days 1. Take drugs with food or after meal 2. Follow the medication regimen, do not lapse on the schedule of taking it 3. Do not exceed the from 7 days on taking the drug Dosage, Route, Frequency Nursing Responsibilities

Mefenamic Acid 500 mg

1 tab as needed

Exercise: 1. Deep breathing exercise for the postop pain management. 2. Early ambulation after surgery 3. Abdominal exercises Steps: 1. Lie flat on bed and flex the knees 2. Try to bring up you upper body using your abdominal muscles 4. Kegels Exercise to enhance the contractility of urethra muscle and sphincter urethrae and help the injured nerves of gall bladder recover. Steps: 1. Try to imagine that you are urinating then stop at midstream 2. Repeat it for 20 times and do this 3-4 times a day Therapy: 1. Chemotherapy Chemotherapy for cervical cancer is using chemicals in treatment, which is applicable to the patients from late stage or are suffering from recurrent cervical cancers. But the toxic side effect is heavier that some weak cervical cancer patients normally cannot stand that. 2. Radiotherapy Radiotherapy includes external radiation exposure and intra-cavitary irradiation. Cervical cancers from different stages can have radiotherapy. But it would hurt the ovarian functions of those females before menopause.

OPD Visits and Referral Have a regular check up with your physical. List the questions you want to ask your physician about your medicines or symptoms and ask it on the day of you visit. You should contact you physician if you these following occur: Diet Eat extra protein and carbohydrates (foods like ) Eat also foods rich in Vitamin C like dalandan, orange, malunggay. Eat foods rich in fiber to about constipation to prevent straining during bowel movement (foods like pineapple, apple, etc) Eat also foods that are easy to digest You have a fever. You have new problems eating or drinking, or you have lost weight without trying. You have diarrhea, constipation, or stomach pain. You have swelling in your abdomen or legs. You have to urinate urgently and often, or you cannot hold your urine. You cannot urinate.

Spiritual Care Encourage client to strengthen her faith by praying and meditating. Prayer is the best weapon we got to fight all the battles that life brings. Put God in the center of our lives. Ask God the strength and courage to go through disease and treatment.
