Student Teaching: Providence Elementary; Grade 5, Virginia Beach VA; September-October 2013 Student Teaching: Deep Creek Elementary; Grade 1, Chesapeake VA; October-December 2013 Developed and presented lessons that met state and city standards for fifth grade in Math, Science, Va. Studies, and English for 21 students in a classroom environment. Lessons were developed with differentiation and strategies that met the needs of the diverse learners within the classroom setting and ensured that all students were able to learn and strengthen concepts and skills in various formats with multiple opportunities to inquire, practice and check for understanding. Utilized tiered math groups and differentiated writing, grammar and reading groups to ensure that students strengths and weaknesses could be addressed in small group settings.
