Theres More Than One Way to Give Em What They Need Straight From the Heart: National Donor Day
Nutrition
What you eat affects heart health in many ways. I f you eat foods high in cholesterol, plaque builds in your blood vessels, causing your heart to work harder. I f you eat too much food overall, you gain weight. That causes your heart to work harder just to keep performing basic functions. I f you dont eat oily sh at least two to three times per week, your heart may not get enough omega-3 fatty acids, known to keep arteries exible and smooth, as well as reduce triglycerides (bad cholesterol) in the blood. The best thing you can do for your heart through diet is to take good nutrition to heart and follow it! Thats easier said than done. Nutrilite has some new ways to tackle terric nutritional support by identifying the right supplements for YOUR total health picture. A special assessment to help nd out your needs. Physical Activity
Every time you take a walk, work out at the gym, jump rope, or even unload groceries, you are revving up your heart muscle with an aerobic (or anaerobic, if youre maxing out!) boost. Both types of activity offer benets to your heart. Aerobic means with oxygen and is also called cardio activity. Anaerobic, no surprise, means without oxygen. While both have benets, heart health primarily focuses on aerobic activity, which strengthens your heart. Your aerobic heart rate range can be anywhere from 50% to 85% of your maximum heart rate. Your maximum heart rate is determined by subtracting your current age from 220. The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology also recommends that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity per week (up to 70% of your maximum heart rate) to get those benets.*
