Question: Why do Lubavitchers have such a around for thousands of years before Chabad.

superiority complex over other Jews? Jews have been - A Bais Rivkah Girl

Answer: You know, any time somebody has a superiority complex, it shows that really...they have low self esteem. Which means, if you have a superiority complex, you probably dont think youre very important, so you have a complex to make up for it, cause deep down inside, you think youre not important. So if Lubavitchers have a superiority complex, it shows that theyre not proud enough, that they have to make up a complex. The same is true with Jews. You know there are Jews who are not very eh, theyre maybe, maybe Shomer Shabbos, maybe. And yet, they talk down about non-Jews. Like, All non-Jews are stupid, theyre all bad, theyre all drunk, theyre all It shows that youre not comfortable being a Jew. Make sense? If youre putting down non-Jews, it shows that you are not comfortable being a Jew. And if youre not the best Jew, who gives you the right to criticize others? So Jews who have a superiority complex, and every non-Jew is a Shaygitz, and stupid somethings wrong. You dont have condence in your own Jewishness. So are we better than any other circle? We are worse! ! Why are we worse? Because we are given so many more opportunities, we have so much more information; we are taught things nobody else is taught, so that if we dont get our act together, were worse than them. And the proof of it is, when you teach them Chassidus, look what happens! They become fantastic. And weve had Chassidus all our lives, and were still not fantastic. So, are we better? Do we have anything to be proud of? ! Yes! What we have is the best thing in the world. Are we the best? Not if you dont live up to what you have. But what we have is the best in the world. Theres no question about it. Just for example, we had this Mishugas sixty years ago that we should worry about other Jews and introduce Yiddishkeit to Jews who are not interested. And all the other Jews in the world thought we were crazy. Forty

years later, they decided, Whoa, thats a really important thing to do! And now, everybody does outreach. So, do we have good things? We have the best. We just need to do it. So we have a complex because if youre given so many good things, you start to wonder like, Why me? and Am I doing a good job? If you dont have anything special, you dont have complexes. Leave me alone, I am just a Jew like everybody else, and thats it. ! So Lubavitchers do have a complex because we feel like some kind of a responsibility that nobody else feels. So a Lubavitcher who Davens three times a day and learns and gives Tzedakah, hes not satised because he is not being Mekarev anybody. Nobody else has that problem. You see people walking down the street in Boro Park, they dont have a problem that theyre not being Mekarev anybody. We have that problem. So even if youre perfect, and you do everything youre supposed to do, you walk around with a complex. Have you brought Moshiach yet? Have you changed the world yet? Nobody else has that issue. Ya, never enough, never enough! Thats why somebody said, Im not sure whats the di!erence in your philosophy, but I noticed something di!erent in Crown Heights than in Boro Park. On Shabbos in Boro Park, everybody walks slow, everybodys strolling. Theyre going home from Shul, theyre going to Shul, they walk slowly. In Crown Heights, ! you stand on Kingston Avenue, everybodys in a hurry. Wheres everybody running? Whys everybody running? Nobody walks slow. Youre rushed to 770, you run back from 770. Whats everybody so busy with? Relax! Not in Crown Heights. We dont relax in Crown Heights. Theres a whole world that need s to be xed, and theres no time, and Moshiach has to come. ! In Boro Park, Shabbos afternoon, we already Davened, we already had our Cholent. Its nice. Relax.
