Mission of the University

THE UNIVERSITY...
Established on 15th August, 1990 under the Maharashtra Universities Act (No. XXIX) of 1989. Granted UGC recognition undersection 2(f) and 12(b) in 1993. Jurisdiction extending over districts of Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar predominantly tribal area. Six Hundred Forty Seven (647) acres of land on a hilly terrain on the banks of the river Girna. Magnificent, aesthetically designed, spacious academic, administrative and residential buildings. Conservation of natural ambience and eco system. Plantation of more than 2 lac trees, 59 small Earthen Bunds and 01 Farming Water Pond. Vanshree Award -2000 by Government of Maharashtra. Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra Award 2002 by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, New Delhi. 13 Schools and one University Institute on campus. School concept for optimal interdisciplinary use of infrastructure and resources. NAAC Re-accreditation with Grade B (CGPA 2.88) in 2009. Campus Diversity Initiative (CDI) program funded by Ford Foundation (USA) earlier in University and 16 affiliated colleges. 192 Colleges and 37 Institutes are affiliated to the University. 6 Schools recognised under UGC-SAP and DST-FIST programs. Advanced software (SAP-ERP) for finance and administration department. Six affiliated colleges identified as Colleges with Potential for Excellence by UGC. Campus Area Networking through optical fibre cable and V-SAT connectivity. Availability of e-journals under the INFLIBNET programme in the Central Library. Organisation of state level inter university sports competition Ashwamedh in November, 2006 and West Zone Inter University, 'Kabaddi' and 'Volleyball' Competitions. Large number of Major R & D and network projects to the faculty
