Gods people will likely face threats. Our studies this week will shed light on threats and how we are to respond. Jerusalem and Gods chosen people were threatened by the King of Assyria. King Hezekiah of Jerusalem and Isaiah the prophet led the response of Gods people. Study 2 Kings 18:17-35 and Isaiah 36:1-20 Study 2 Kings 19:6-7 and Isaiah 37:6-7
Nehemiah was called by God to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem. He too faced threats. Study Nehemiah 4focus on verses 7-8 Study Nehemiah 6focus on verses 11-14
The following passages bring strength when we face threats. Psalm 55, Psalm 64, 1 Peter 2:13-23

Sunday, December 22, 2013 God showed up in an unexpected way! As we were in worship, praying to our Lord, a shower of rain began to fall, picked up in intensity, and then faded. The rain lasted only a couple of minutes but the effects will be forever etched in our memories. My heart was touched and all I could do was shed a few tears of joy and bask in the blessings of Gods amazing presence. Perhaps the message for us is to lay the foundation for God to move in unexpected ways then give Him the honor and glory! Our first Christmas together as a body of believers will be remembered as very special and I pray God will show up in unexpected ways as we celebrate the birth of our Lord. Pastor Reid
