Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki - Western Jihad is Here to Stay

Eight years after 9-11 and the declaration of war against terrorism, Jihad is still reaching the shores of Europe and America. ot from the outside, !ut from within. Jihad is not !eing imported !ut is !eing homegrown. "he world has come together in a glo!al coalition to eradicate terrorism. #e are witnessing an unprecedented cooperation in intelligence matters that is pooling in information from almost e$ery intelligence agency on the face of the earth that has any piece of information of $alue on terrorism. "he media around the glo!e is painting Jihad in the worst possi!le colors. %ay and night the masses are hearing an orchestra of smear against the mu&ahideen. 'n such an inhospita!le en$ironment, Jihad is still flourishing, like a !lessed tree sprouting through an earth of waste and pollution. "he Jihad mo$ement has not only sur$i$ed !ut is e(panding. 'sn)t it ironic that the two capitals of the war against 'slam, #ashington %.*. and +ondon ha$e also !ecome among the centers of #estern Jihad, Jihad is !ecoming as American as apple pie and as British as afternoon tea. "he palace of -haraoh is !eing infiltrated. "his is ./1/. But e$en in .//0 this was !ecoming clear to those who possessed inside knowledge on the war on terror. 'n the famous leaked internal memo sent from the then Secretary of %efense, %onald 1umsfeld, he stated2 3"he 4uestions ' posed to com!atant commanders this week were2 Are we winning or losing the 5lo!al #ar on "error,3 6e also 4uestioned whether the num!er of terrorists is decreasing or increasing2 3Are we

capturing, killing or deterring and dissuading more terrorists e$ery day than the madrassas and the radical clerics are recruiting, training and deploying against us,3 6e finally comes to the conclusion that2 3the cost-!enefit ratio is against us7 8ur cost is !illions against the terrorists) costs of millions.3 "he 9S go$ernment needs to come into reali:ation that no matter how many terrorists they kill or capture their num!ers will only increase !ecause 1asulullah ;p!uh< said2 3A party of my ummah will remain fighting until the %ay of Judgment and they will not !e harmed !y those who !etray them or oppose them.3 %o all what you can, fight to the last man, spend to the last cent, the cara$an will continue. =en and women in the #est who were !orn in the #est, raised in the #est, educated in the #est, whose culture is that of the #est, who ha$e ne$er studied or met with any 3radicali:ed3 'mams, and ne$er attended any radical mos4ues are em!racing the path of Jihad. America can franticly try to recruit the so-called 3moderate3 organi:ations and 'mams to dissuade the youth from !ecoming men who stand up for 'slam, !ut no 1A % =uslims or 5reen >one scholars would !e a!le to !lock the light of the truth from reaching the hearts of those courageous !rothers and sisters. Allah says2 3"hey try to e(tinguish the light of Allah with their mouths !ut Allah will fulfill 6is light e$en if the dis!elie$ers dislike it.3 "he 9S has spent !illions to protect its airlines !ut they couldn?t pre$ent 9mar @arouk, and the #est has !een profiling until AJihad JaneB, shattered whate$er trust was left in the $alue of profiling. A !lond, !lue-eyed, small framed, middle-aged female. 't couldn?t get any further from your typical 3terrorist3 profile. o matter what the #est does, Allah will guide the mu&ahideen to new means of carrying their &ust struggle. Allah says2 3And those who struggle for 9s, #e shall guide them to 8ur path3 "he most famous of all special operation missions carried on during the lifetime of the =essenger of Allah was that of the assassination of Caa! !in al Ashraf. #hat was his crime, "he defamation of the =essenger of Allah. "oday those who attempt to assassinate +ars and his likes are following the e(ample of the great companion of the =essenger ;p!uh<, =uhammad !in =aslama. "hat is the sunnah. 6ence, the least we the =uslims could do for the !rothers and sisters who attempt to carry on this sunnah in defense of our !elo$ed =essenger is to rally to their defense and pray for them, encourage

others to follow their path and participate in such endea$ors in whate$er ways is possi!le. "he +ars crew needs to come to the reali:ation that a high wall, a !ody guard, a !ar!ed wire, a safe room, an alarm system, or any other means of protection and a life of isolation will not keep them safe from the hands of the mu&ahideen, and e$en if we fail in an attempt, it is sufficient for us to keep them in a perpetual state of fear and insecurity. As for those !rothers and sisters who sacrificed for such a cause then they ha$e lost nothing !ut gained so much as Allah does not waste the efforts of the righteous, and a life of sacrifice for the sake of Allah and 6is =essenger is worthier than the most pleasant life this earth can offer. #hether it is the heroic attempt of our Somali !rother who !roke into the residence of the cartoonist in %enmark, or the other attempts that followed or preceded him, the #est will come to reali:e that when the honor of the =essenger of Allah is at stake the dust will ne$er settle down.
