Introduction

This document gives an overview of the main functions for use with the standard ZoneSafe system. Functions and mode settings which do not normally apply to the standard ZoneSafe system are not covered in this document.

Software Installation

The latest edition of software is downloaded from the website:http://www.eurekarfidsystems.co.uk/zonesafe/code/publish.htm On the web page, click Install. The application will be downloaded, installed and started automatically. The software will appear on programs list accessed from Windows Start button. When the software is run for the first time it will request that the system type is configured in the options menu. Click on the ZoneSafe button (top left) and select Options from the pop-up menu.

Connect to ZoneSafe Unit using Bluetooth

Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on the PC and that the ZoneSafe unit is powered. Select the Zonesafe Units tab. In the ZoneSafe Units window on the left of screen select Bluetooth tab and click Discover Units button.

All Bluetooth enabled devices in the immediate area will be detected and listed. ZoneSafe units will be identified with their serial numbers e.g. Connect. Once connection is established the ZoneSafe unit will download the recorded Vehicle ID and Type, its configurations settings including list of registered wake-up antenna units and a list of registered tags i.e Vehicle Operators, if any have been configured. It is recommended to wait 20 sec after pressing connect to ensure complete download of configuration is complete. ZONESAFE21238. Select the ZoneSafe unit and click

Vehicle ID and Vehicle Type can be entered in the text boxes and instantly uploaded to the unit. Status flags indicate the upload status. Flag will turn green when text box contents are identical to the data stored in the ZoneSafe unit.

Home Tab

4.1

General : Log In

It is necessary to log in to gain access to activate the Admin tab and access the Configuratio n Settings and Debug Tabs. Default password is: password

Once logged in the password can be changed. Click on the ZoneSafe button (top left) and select Options from the pop-up menu. A14-5747

Events
Download: Clear: Save: Events logged by the unit can be downloaded and listed in Events window. Clears the Event log memory in the ZoneSafe unit. Saves the Event log to a file in xml format. Default file name used is the units

serial number and date. E.g. 21238_10122011_Events. Load: Export: Load previously saved Event log for review and analysis. Export data file in CSV format.

The Default location for saving or exporting the file can be changed on the Options menu. Click Events tab to view downloaded events. Click Analysis tab to show analysis of Event Log data. This allows specific data types to be inspected and operator tag detections to be shown graphically.

Vehicle Operators

From Device: Downloads list of Registered Tag I.D.s , each with their function, either (a) Driver, (b) Operator or (c) Driver/Operator, and names of personnel. To Device: Uploads edited list of vehicle operators to the unit.

4.3.1

Adding, Editing and Deleting Vehicle Operators

Click Vehicle Operators tab to display window.

Add, Edit and Delete buttons.

Add : Click icon with green cross. Enter details into the edit boxes i.e. Tag Number, Name and select operation Type from drop down list. Click Update when done. Repeat for as many tags as needed for a particular vehicle. New entries will be added to the list.

Edit: Highlight an item in the list and amend details as required. Click Update when done.

Delete: Highlight an item in the list and click Delete button (icon with red x). Note: The Update button does not upload data to the unit. It is necess ary to click To Device button on the Vehicle Operators control when connected to the unit in order to upload data to the unit. Vehicle operators can be saved to a file as part of the configuration settings. and click Admin tab to access configuration options. It is necessary to log in

Configuration Settings

The main system settings are defined using the controls on the configuration window. If the ZoneSafe unit is connected to the PC then any changes made to configuration settings will be immediately uploaded to the unit. Synchronisation between PC and unit for each setting is indicated by indicator flags. Synchronised. Green indicates the setting is Synchronised with the unit. Red indicates not

5.1.1

Main Functions
General

Operating Mode: Required setting is Disabled - Should not be altered for normal operation. No. of Wakeups: Set to the number of external wakeup units fitted to the system. Unit Address: Should be set to a different number for each vehicle that may come into close proximity. Range of Unit Addresses is from 1 to 100.

5.1.2

Driver I.D. Settings:

These settings only apply if the unit is being operated in driver ID mode. Driver Mode: Required setting is Authenticate Should not altered for normal operation. Off Time: Period that the antenna connected to the main control unit is un-powered following successful decode of a registered Drivers tag. This is used to control the frequency the Driver tag will be energised in order to increase tag battery life.

ZoneSafe System Software Manual Search Time: Time allowed for Driver tag detection to occur after powering the system, by

switching on the vehicle ignition. If a registered driver tag is not detected within this time a Driver not Detected event will be logged. Report Time: Time allowed from last detection of a registered Driver tag while ignition is ON. If a registered Driver tag is not detected within this time a Driver Exit event will be logged. Ensure that the Report Time is longer than the Off Time to pre vent Driver Exit from being reported constantly.

5.1.3

Inputs

Defines up to 2 control input settings. Text boxes are provided to enter a name for the input functions. Required settings for normal operations are: Invert: Record: Mode: Un-ticked. Event ticked. Disabled.

The timer settings define the delay between detection of the input signal and system responding to it.

5.1.4

Outputs

The number of relays available depends on the hardware version of the unit. Outputs to up to four relays can be triggered by either:1. Driver or Operator tag detection at either the Front (ZoneSafe main unit) or Rear (External Wakeup units). 2. In response to a deactivation of another relay. Settings allow various permutations of triggering events using tick boxes for Driver and Operator tags and operating mode selected from drop down lists. Relay operation time can be set from 0 sec, to 10 min 59 sec Relay invert switching can be selected if required.

5.1.5

Display Panel

Normal settings: Events enabled box ticked. Alarm Mute selected from drop down list.

Alarm Time setting: Defines the alarm duration. Applies only to systems with an alarm fitted.

Download configuration settings from the unit which includes vehicle operators. Upload configuration settings to the unit that have been loaded from a

configuration data file. Load: Save: Load configuration file that has been previously saved. Save current configuration settings on the PC.

Factory Defaults: Resets all configuration settings to default values. This does not affect the vehicle operators
