Something to Think About Have you ever set out to do something, or build something, and you have a picture in your mind of what it will look like when youre finished. Maybe you are going to knit a scarf, or plant a garden, and you have an idea in mind of what it will look like when it is finished. Possibly you have planned something larger, such as building a house, or starting a company. I think that every time we are motivated to build or make something, every time we endeavor to be part of something, we have an idea of what success looks like. As your pastor I wonder what you think success looks like at Salem. When you think about Salem being a successful church, what do you imagine? Now for my next question, what do you think Jesus imagines success would look like at Salem? If Jesus were to sit and day dream about what He would like to see happening at Salem, more important what He would like to see happening in the lives of people who congregate at Salems building, what would His dream be like? year and look forward to an improved new year. Every year resolutions are made throughout the country. These resolutions are to improve upon life or to see a change in the world of the individual. With this New Year lets make a resolution to put an end to the things that are keeping us from God and create a new beginning within our lives to make a difference in our homes, jobs, schools, and neighborhoods. A difference that will leave a lasting impact for Jesus Christ in the lives of all we meet. As we are about to enter a New Year, please join me in praising our LORD GOD Almighty for His Mercies, Grace, and Loving-Kindness and Protection in the Year 2013. Even if the events of today are crushing and depressing, remember the price JESUS CHRIST paid for our sins and the gift of Eternal Life with HIM in Dr. Olusola Orebiyi Heaven, which should motivate us to praise HIM continuously. In Psalm 50:23 GOD reminds us that "Whoever offers praise glorifies Me and to him who orders his conduct aright, I will show the Salvation of GOD". Fellow believers in the Grace and Love of GOD, decide early to start the Year 2014 at the Feet of JESUS CHRIST in HIS House - The Church - learning, knowing and being made aware of the practical ways to apply HIS Word, by regularly attending the Sunday Bible Study Fellowship at 9:30 AM. It is by taking heed to the Word of GOD that we will avoid committing sin against HIM- Psalm 119:11. The Final Authority Musical Group will be presenting a free Pre-Valentine Concert on February 8th, 2014, at Salem Baptist Church from 6-8 PM. This will be preceded by a pot-lock dinner between 5-6 PM. Please make plans to join us, for a beautiful and refreshing experience. A Love Offering will be appreciated for the Musical Group. The Sunday School Teachers will hold their Monthly 3rd Sunday Prayer Meeting in the Pastor`s Office on January 19th, 2014, at 9 AM.
