The formula for calculating the post-15 August 1978 component of the unused long service leave payment is:
A B
(C(B+D) - F) E
You round down when working out the second part of the formula. So, if [C x (B + D)/E - F] = 117.8, then use 117. If you get a negative answer using the formula then the post-15 August 1978 component of the payment is nil.
* For example, if you took 40 days long service leave after this date, but the formula calculates that you were only due 24 days for this period, then use 24. The formula for calculating the post-17 August 1993 component of the unused long service leave payment is:
G H
(I(H+J) - L) K
You round down when working out the second part of the formula. So, if [I x (H + J)/K - L] = 117.8, then use 117. If you get a negative answer using the formula, then the post-17 August 1993 component of the payment is nil.
