“My Trust”

Text: Psalm 31:1

How Much Will You Trust GOD?
Psalm 31:1
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let
me never be ashamed: deliver me in
thy righteousness.
Center Verse in the Bible
Psalm 118:8 - It is better to trust in the
LORD than to put confidence in man.
How Much Should We Trust God?
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all thine
heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge
him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Trust in God vs. Trust in Riches
Proverbs 11:28 - He that trusteth in his riches
shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a
branch.

Mark 10:24b - Jesus answereth again, and saith

unto them, Children, how hard is it for them
that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of
God!
Trust in God vs. Trust in Riches
1 Timothy 6:17 - Charge them that are rich in
this world, that they be not highminded, nor
trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God,
who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Riches are “uncertain” but

God is a “firm foundation!”
Trust in God vs. Trust in Riches
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good
Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have
eternal life? The young man saith unto him, All
these things have I kept from my youth up: what
lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be
perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the
poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and
come and follow me. But when the young man
heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he
had great possessions. (Matthew 19:16; 20-22)
Jehovah-Jireh, Our Provider
Genesis 22:14a - And Abraham called the name
of that place Jehovah-jireh:

Genesis 22:8 - And Abraham said, My son, God

will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering:
so they went both of them together.

Abraham proved he trusted in the Lord with all

his heart when he did not keep Isaac from God!
With All Thine Heart
To trust in God with all our heart is to
trust Him with all we have!

What are you not trusting to God?

Finances? Family? Health? Job?
Decisions? Career Choice? Spouse?
Appearance? Ability? Performance?
Trust in God vs. Trust in Self
Proverbs 28:26 - He that trusteth in
his own heart is a fool: but whoso
walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Trusting God For Our NEEDS
Philippians 4:19 - But my God shall supply all
your need according to his riches in glory by
Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:8b - …your Father knoweth what

things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Trusting God in the Valleys
Psalm 23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.

Will you trust God in the valleys of life?

God of the Valleys
1 Kings 20:23 - And the servants of the king of
Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the
hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but
let us fight against them in the plain, and surely
we shall be stronger than they.
1 Kings 20:27
And the children of Israel were numbered,
and were all present, and went against
them: and the children of Israel pitched
before them like two little flocks of kids;
but the Syrians filled the country.
1 Kings 20:28
And there came a man of God, and spake
unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus
saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have
said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he
is not God of the valleys, therefore will I
deliver all this great multitude into thine
hand, and ye shall know that I am the
LORD.
1 Kings 20:29
And they pitched one over against the
other seven days. And so it was, that in
the seventh day the battle was joined:
and the children of Israel slew of the
Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in
one day.
Fruit of Trusting God in the Valleys
Isaiah 26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in
perfect peace, whose mind is stayed
on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trusting the Lord for Salvation
Luke 18:9-10 - And he spake this parable unto
certain which trusted in themselves that they
were righteous, and despised others: Two men
went up into the temple to pray; the one a
Pharisee, and the other a publican.
Trusting the Lord for Salvation
Luke 18:11-13 - The Pharisee stood and prayed
thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am
not as other men are, extortioners, unjust,
adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice
in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not
lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but
smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful
to me a sinner.
Trusting the Lord For Salvation
Luke 18:14 - I tell you, this man went down to
his house justified rather than the other: for
every one that exalteth himself shall be
abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be
exalted.
