Security
Your data is important to you, and its important to us too. Thats why protecting your data is paramount to Guidewire LiveSM. This data sheet aims to address the main areas of security that may be of concern to you and explain the architecture and safeguards that are in place.

The Data
What are you pushing to us? First of all, you dont give us any personal information. The data we use is primarily for comparative metrics, benchmarking, and mapping, so thats the information we ask for transactions, coverages, and high level loss data such as loss cause, location, and date. You can look at the SQL statement at any time to see exactly what you are sharing with us.

Extraction
We dont pull data from you, you push it to us. You are in control. The extract is triggered from a batch job which you schedule to run; upon initiation, you call us to make a connection. We will whitelist your IP address too, so only veried customers can connect otherwise our systems wont respond.

Storage
The database is housed in a secure location, on a secure network with tightly controlled, monitored access. When data is backed up, it is encrypted onto tapes.

The Benchmarks
Can other carriers see my data? No, and you cannot see theirs. Benchmarks are aggregated, averaged, and blinded; if there is not enough participation, the benchmark wont be produced. Only participating companies can see the benchmarks; the benchmarks only exist for you and the community.

Access
Who can see your data? Us and you. When we say us, we mean a small number of Guidewire staff who are working to validate that Guidewire Live is operationally available and that all your data is accurate. When we say you, we mean that you control user access: you control who has access to Guidewire Live, what roles they have, and what apps they can use. The apps can only be accessed from your network or via your VPN. In short, only your people on your network can access your data.

Transmission
Data is transmitted over secured HTTPS, meaning its encrypted in transit.
