National Institutes of Engineering & Technology is working under governing council of National Institute of Business Studies. National Institute of Business Studies is recognized by Council of Distance Learning. This approval from CODL is an assurance of the qualification earned from NIBS Distance Learning Program. CODL was established under the act of 1985 "to improve and enhance the standards of distance learning institutions by the establishment of a system of accreditation". Its inspection processes are designed to support and advise colleges on improving their standards. NIBS is a member of CODL and has been a Pioneer in imparting distance Education in field of Management and all other courses which are a support function for these industries. NIBS was established in 1998 under the Act 58(1) of 1932, Govt. of NCT, Delhi. NIBS has covered innumerable milestones at different levels of its expansion. In the year 2002, the Governing Council of National Institute of Business Studies, decided to upgrade Engineering College as National Institutes of Engineering Technology (NIETs), on the lines of the prestigious National Institute of Business Studies (NIBSs). The NIETs have the responsibility of providing high quality education in engineering and technology to produce competent technical manpower for the country. The Governing Council of National Institute of Business Studies is in the process of introducing the National Institutes of Engineering & Technology (NIET) as autonomous technical universities and will be able to decide their own curriculum and functional policies.
