HAZARD CHECKLIST

Rev. 1

Date: 30/11/11 Page: 1/6

This checklist recognizes the major accident hazards found by experience of previous HAZID studies. It is not intended to be totally exhaustive and feedback from users should be incorporated to maintain the most effective current working version. It will be tailored as appropriate for any particular HAZID. Key Word Hazard Hydrocarbon Well Fluid Hydrocarbon Gas Hydrocarbon Oil Water Chemicals Non-Hydrocarbon Gas (e.g. Nitrogen) Other - Consider un-ignited effects - Pollution - Sea surface hazards (ignited/toxic) Direct Fire Direct Explosion/Energy Release Structural Component Failure in Design Outside Design Condition leading to Structural Failure - Configuration/positioning - Buoyancy Mechanical Failure Human Factors - Access - Maintenance and Inspection - Intervention Third Party Contact - Dropped Objects - Vehicle Collision (Ship, ROV: Remotely Operated Vehicle, etc) - Sub-sea element clash (Chains, etc) - Diving Operations Extreme Environment Loads currents, seabed stability, high winds, storms Long Term Environmental Loads Marine Life Interaction

1. Loss of Containment Hazards (in fluid systems)

2. Internal Hazards (i.e. non fluid systems)

3. External Hazards
