Spinning is a tradition and Leifeld has developed the spinning tradition to perfection. The result can be seen in our machines. Leifeld spinning machines offer a viable alternative to established methods such as stamping and deep drawing. The advantages are:
flexible production
relatively low tooling costs
quick and economical adjustments to tooling and programs
short set-up times increasing machine availability.
By selecting from a range of auxiliary attachments, a basic spinning machine can become a versatile spinning center, easy to operate and capable of carrying out, in a single cycle, more than one operation. Operations such as:
planishing
profiling
curling (beading)
seaming
trimming
flanging
machining give you the opportunity to diversify and adapt to an ever-changing market and enjoy a decisive lead over the competitors.
The basic elements of Leifeld's space saving spinning machines are the machine bed, headstock, tailstock, spinning slides and combined PNC/CNC control, which all are installed on a central base plate. Additional items, such as KA / BAE auxiliary cylinders and multiple tool changers, allow you to manufacture complicated spinnings in one cycle. Spindle speeds in either direction can be pre-set via the keyboard. A new workpiece can be programmed multiple different ways, for example by "teach in" using the mobile desk, with data displayed on the flat screen monitor - or by use of our offline programming software. Existing programs can be optimized either directly online on the machine or offline by use of the supplied offline programming software.
Blank Centering Unit
for accurately centering blanks or certain pre- forms. Once clamped the centering arms are automatically lowered. A height indicator counter is fitted to assist in resetting for a diameter change.
Blank Support Unit
using either a disc or conical roller. This support unit stabilizes the unsupported blank during spinning and permits high work rates without risk of wrinkle formation.
Trimming Knife
designed to continuously trim the blank edge during spinning, so avoiding the formation of ears.
Edge Working
KA and BAE attachments are used to accommodate profiling, trimming and curling (beading) rollers, as well as machining and flanging tools.
