THE FIRM Mitch McDeere, played by Tom Cruise, is a newly employed associate at Bendini, Lambert & Locke and a graduating law student from Harvard. Although gladly absorbed by the company through tempting salary packages, McDeere finds out the firms illegal activities causing him to be in action. The Firm is not only a partnership concern. It includes related laws about overbilling, attorney confidentiality, and criminal cases. Here are some of the instances where law on partnership can be observed. A. In the movie, the partnership Bendini, Lambert & Locke is a particular one for the practice of a profession (Article 1767, 1783). It is a general professional partnership. B. About subpartnership, McDeere is not a subpartner. C. The firm is not a limited one; being one guarantees the public of everything about. (Article 1844) D. About to graduate from Harvard Law School, he is approached by Bendini, Lambert & Locke, 'The Firm', and made an offer he cannot refuse. He and his wife, Abigail "Abby" (Jeanne Tripplehorn), move to Memphis, where The Firm is located. Seduced by the money and gifts showered on him, including a house and car, he is at first totally oblivious to the more sinister side of his company. Some of the law on partnership is observed in the movie. 1. The firm is a general professional partnership. 2. The partnership Bendini, Lambert & Locke is a particular one for the practice of a profession (Article 1767, 1783). 3. Under the Article 1844, it states that the firm is not a limited one. Being one guarantees the public of everything about. 4. Article 1806 states of the rendering of true and full information.
