ANB 70, Know the Word (3-2-06)

Hey everyone,

I believe the Lord has told me to share a picture with you and then tell you how to
incorporate it into your spiritual and natural lives. So imagine being on a bicycle. God
frequently compares (to me) His relationship (or His working) with a person to the person
being on a bicycle. On a bicycle the person has to do some work, he has to push
the petals. But there are also gears in bikes that help the wheel to turn even when you
aren't pedaling, but you have to start. You know that you don't have to petal once around
for every rotation the wheel makes. After you petal a bit the wheel continues turning, so
you get a disproportionate return on your work. If you petal five times the wheel might
go around 20 or thirty times.

I believe this picture can show how God often works with man. We have to start
pedaling, but once we do His supernatural energy takes us farther and faster than the
amount of input we put in would otherwise do. We have to continue steering (with
direction guided by His Spirit of course) but we will get to our destination supernaturally
and not just of our own power.

So the other day God gave me a picture of Lance Armstrong. Now God wasn't talking
about him specifically, God was talking about the best bicyclist. He showed me Lance
having short scriptures or revelation Words on every area of life. That was the whole
picture, but is that profound or what.

Many months ago I wrote ANB 12, how to pray. You can read this at
www.exploitsforgod.com/anb. God showed me personally that we should be praying His
Word over every situation. I later came to read that this was not new revelation to others,
but that many of God's leaders on earth had been saying this for quite some time. So I
began doing it a little bit, but I truly had my first profound experience with this just about
2 months ago. I'll relate this experience.

God told me one time that whenever anything serious comes up I should begin praying
about it one month in advance (feel free to adopt that for yourself, it can't be bad advice).
Now I had an in-person hearing with the Florida Bar. I got in some legal trouble early in
my life, mostly relating to alcohol, and they wanted to talk about it in person. Needless
to say this was one of the most important days/meetings I have ever had. So I got some
Word on it, and I began to pray exactly 1 month in advance. Now I had a lawyer who
told me I should submit voluntarily to 1-3 years (yes years) of AA meetings and drug
testing to thwart any questions of a recovery program. Now in reality the Holy Spirit
delivered me from all forms of intoxication over 19 months ago, but the lawyer thought
they might not believe this. She also said they might only admit me on a probational
status.

So I got 4 verses and told the lawyer I was going in there on faith. Here are the two most
important. "My God has sent His angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, that they have
not hurt me: forasmuch as before God innocence was found in me; and before you oh
king (the bar in my case), have I done no hurt." (Daniel 6:22) and "So Daniel was taken
up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his
God." (Daniel 6:23). So I got to praying and to meditation. I confessed those scriptures
every day and sometimes several times a day. Because I know God is timeless, I knew
that before I walked into that meeting I had already come out with 'no manner of hurt
found on me.'

So what happened? The meeting was supposed to be 1 hour. The meeting only lasted
1/2 hour. Why? God shut the lions' mouths. One after another each of the 'examiners'
uttered the phrase 'no further questions' as I praised God in my heart. The bar examiners
did not even bring up conditional or probational admission. Moreover, they didn't even
bring up the AA meetings with drug tests (which is a standard procedure called a
'contract' for lawyers with evidence of past addiction problems. My lawyer said that a
'contract' is a standard requirement for anyone with 2 or more alcohol issues in their past.
I reported 13. Glory to God. I walked out and the lawyer was noticeably happy at how it
went. One week later I got the letter, 'you are good to go.' "No manner of hurt was found
on me." God supernaturally delivered me because I was innocent and I believed on Him.

I have seen God before in my life many times, but for the first time I witnessed the jaw
dropping power of God overcome my situations and deliver me from all my trouble. It
was a powerful moment, to say the least. So what am I going to do now? Buddy I got a
scripture on everything. The Bible says 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses let every
Word be established.' (2 Corinthians 13:1). So I get three verses on everything. I have 3
on my future house, 3 on my job, 10 on my health and many others for many other areas
of life. I confess these over and over, making God's Word more real on my inside than
the physical situation is on the outside. This is living from the inside out. Christians
dominate this world through faith and the power of God, the world doesn't dominate us.

So how does this relate to the bicycle. As you go through life with God you will
encounter many situations of all types. But this is the victory that overcomes the world,
even our faith (1 John 5:4). Faith in what? Faith in God's Word. Jesus Christ is the
living Word of God (John 1:12). What did He say? "Be of good cheer, I have overcome
the world." (John 16:33).

When we ride along with God He has His part to do and we have our part. We can never
live without God. We can't fulfill our destinies without Him. God wants us to work
together with Him in everything. "For we are labourers together with God" (1
Corinthians 3:9). If we will begin working with God, applying His supernatural, world
overcoming Word to every situation in our lives, we will see God manifested in all of
those areas. It does happen in an instant, but it may take longer for you to physically see
Him. But once you apply God's Word to a situation, you have pushed the petal, and the
supernatural power of God will take you through that situation.

So here is a suggestion, make yourself a scripture sheet. Take every area of your life (not
just personal areas like your money or your car, pray for others too, but really every area
the Holy Spirit leads you to write down), and then go to God's Word and find a scripture
on it. Here is a great search tool if you have trouble finding the verses
http://www.biblegateway.com/keyword/ Get God's Word on every area of your life. If
you leave Him out of an area He will respect your wishes.

We know from John 1:1 that the Word is God. When you begin working with
God's Word, which begins working your faith, you will see yourself obtaining
supernatural results, God's Word's promised results in every area of life. Glory to God.
God also showed me this is a model for an A New Beginning thought framework. ANB
stands for A New Beginning. No matter where you are in a situation, you can put God's
Word on it and start fresh, seeing God's Word start that thing over and change it from its
very core. Praise the Lord.
