This is because making a location aware complaint is an inconvenient affair. This paper presents the architecture of a Voice Enabled Global Positioning System (GPS) based approach for reporting vehicular complaints on an Android platform. The complaint is registered via the Short Message Service (SMS) over the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM). GPS tracking enhances the accuracy and competence of the complaint system by mapping the location where the complaint was issued. This will aid the authorities to identify the spot and have the problems resolved responsively. Since the proposed system is voice enabled and Android based on the complainant side, it will serve as a facilitative platform for Indian road commuters to send complaints to the relevant authorities, in addition to the existing channels, so that these issues could be addressed in a timely manner. INTRODUCTION The commute Irom one place to another via the roadways has slowly but surely become a menace. Many passengers Iace harassment Irom auto drivers like reIusal oI short distance rides (or any rides), not using a meter, asking more meter Iare or other similar complaints oI serious nature. Also there are traIIic, wrong parking, rash driving, drunken driving and misbehaviour grievances Ior vehicles in general. A lot oI these complaints go unregistered due to the lack oI an easy-to-use and convenient complaint system that records and manages reports at the appropriate agencies. The research Iindings aim to develop an Android based mobile application that combines the ease oI a Short Message Service (SMS) with the convenience oI speech recognition to register complaints. An added Ieature is integration oI Global Positioning System (GPS) technology with Global System Ior Mobile Communications (GSM) in order to point to the exact location oI the problem which will make area wise addressing oI problems easier Ior the concerned authorities. Presently the commuters oI metropolitan cities can register a complaint against the auto/taxi deIaulters by calling the helpline number or by registering a complaint on the traIIic police website or by sending an email to the Regional Transport OIIice (RTO). All these methods are inconvenient due to several reasons. Commuters Iind it tedious to send an email or register a complaint online immediately. They have to note down the vehicle number and may Iorget to register the complaint later. Also they Iind it diIIicult to remember the diIIerent helpline numbers and message Iormats required. Thus the required quality oI service is not achieved. These limitations oI access reduce people`s interest Irom the process. Hence many people reIrain Irom complaining and the purpose oI complaint system is not met. Helplines may become congested at peak hours due to which the commuters have to wait Ior a long time to register the complaint. Moreover, considering the present scenario, in order to handle the load during the peak hours, a number oI operators are required. But this man power goes waste during the remaining period. With this system in place, there will be nothing as a peak hour. Our system aims to give harassed commuters a simple and convenient way to register their complaint. It will quantiIy the menace Iaced by the commuters and will also expose the concerned transport authority's response and redress system and thereby make it more robust. II.
