Part One: Beginning Occult Magic

The Basics of Practice Magic is a touchy thing to begin. I suppose the first ma or !uestion is religion. "hat is your religion# Is it compatible with magic# $o you wish to change religions to a magical one or simply merge what you ha%e# There is much debate on this topic& but here is my opinion: Most religions ban magic as e%il and ha%e se%ere penalties& either now& in the eternal& or both for practitioners of any form of magic. More than li'ely& your current religion will not mi( with magic. Many practitioners ha%e to brea' from their current belief system and form) oin a comfortable hybrid religion. *lso& the option of simply abandoning what you currently 'now as religion and radically changing your belief system is open. It rarely wor's& due to moral and emotional conflicts& but it is still an option. The second ma or !uestion confronting magicians is& +"hat is my nature#+. This !uestion spawns many different answers. ,ome li'e aggressi%e magic to attac' an ad%ersary& or a friend-s ad%ersary. Many use protecti%e magic to shield themsel%es and their friends from the stormy blast of other magic. Many people abandon the idea of combati%e magic all together and opt for enchantments to ease the burdens of life on e%erybody& such as blessings and prosperity spells. .ere are most of the ma or classes of magician /as far as I can tell& all spells can be accounted for within these castes0: "hite Magician 1 2(pert of Protecti%e and .ealing ,pells. Blac' Magician 1 2(pert of $estructi%e ,pells. Mage 1 2(pert at Psychic and Mental 3ontrol& and ,pells of "illpower. $ruid 1 Masters of 4ature and 4atural 5orces. 2nchanter 1 2(perts at *rea 2ffect Magic /3urses)Blessings0. $i%iner 1 2(perts of 5uture and 5ortune telling. 3on urer 1 2(perts at ,ummoning ,pirits or 2ntities. .ealer 1 2(perts at Manipulating and ,ustaining Life 5orce. 4ecromancer 1 2(perts at Manipulating $eath and the $ead. ,orcerer 1 5reelance Offensi%e 3asters of *ll Types6 Mainly focussed on blac' magic. "i7ard 1 5reelance $efensi%e 3asters of *ll Types6 Mainly focussed on white magic. Priest 1 3alls on 8od to defend them and to wor' with their situation as necessary.

,atanist 1 3alls on ,atan to indulge their desires. *fter deciding what you want /or& more accurately& what you are able to do0& it is time to confront the third& and most difficult !uestion of magic. The third !uestion of magic is the most difficult because of all the options it presents: "hat do you want# This is by far the most difficult. *t this point the magician must decide how to shape their uni%erse. $o you want money# $esign a prosperity spell. $o you want power# 3reate a node. $o you want 'nowledge# Learn demon con uration /or scrying for the white magician0. Once you ha%e the power& you must figure out how to use it. "ow9 2n oy figuring out the intrinsics of how to use abilities on your own.

The Basics of Practice 1 5undamental *bility 4ow& 'eeping in mind the basic list of caster types gi%en on the pre%ious page& choose your type /fate#0. :ou will& as a rule& fall under one of these categories. If you do not& you do not 'now your talent. 5ind you magical niche and e(ploit it. If I could offer one bit of ad%ice& which I can& it would be this& which is: Ta'e :our Time9 The decision process is long and hard. :ou can not ust sit down one night& ponder your brains out and emerge with the answer /normally6 but& there are some people out there that are ust plain gifted at e%erything0. It ta'es a long time to figure out ust what your talent is& and also 'eep in mind to search e%ery aspect. ,ome people want to be con urers& but are simply not good at it while they are good at elemental magic but do not li'e it. This may be the case. $o not disclude magics that you do not li'e for that reason alone. Try diligently to find out what you can do& and then determine what you can do with it. * good idea is to find a scryer or con urer that can tell you /if you get really stuc'0. That was the first step: Identifying :our 4iche. .ere is the second part: 3ollecting Power. To collect power& occassionally referred to as +Mana+ /though I despise the term0& is as easy as breathing& literally. 2%er wonder why magicians& if they are so powerful& don-t simply run out into all the world and smite their foes in great& miraculous blasts of fire and lightning# .ere is why6 at the foundation of magic. One must collect power. * single lightning burst would nearly drain the reser%es of e%en a fairly powerful wi7ard. To collect& perform this e(tremely simple ritual: ; <. ,it where you can meditate and collect power undisturbed. ; =. Begin deep slow breaths /not too slow6 this should not be uncomfortable0. ; >. "ith e%ery inhalation& the true magician can feel the magical energy of the area being absorbed into their body.

; ?. @nderstanding that this power is being sa%ed in a finite storage& !uit when you no longer feel any absorption. * basic principle in magic is that the person themself has no true power. *ll power comes from the e(ternal. This practice is a must for any caster type that wishes to ha%e power at any gi%en time& rather than ha%e to cast a circle& open the circle& con ure a spirit& use the spirit& recall the spirit& banish the spirit& and close the circle. This sort of power gathering is great for elemental magicians /ones who use fire& water& earth& or wind0. *ll casters of any le%el re!uire this e(ercise to gather personal reser%es of energy. The apprentice and archimage ali'e ha%e to do this. Aemember that the more e(perienced you are& the longer this ta'es. The reser%es of the caster grow with e(perience and constant flushing out)filling. The whole idea of energy reser%es& howe%er& is set apart for those that wish to ha%e on1hand magic at any gi%en moment. Those that are interested in /or& better put& talented at0 spirit con uring do not ha%e to worry about instant power. * spirit con uration is done by calling on higher powers to e(ert their energy to do your will. * con urer is simply an ethereal co1ordinator& not a spell caster& and thereby does not ha%e to collect energy. The Basics of Practice 1 Practical @se I hope& by the time you %iew this page& that you ha%e already read my introduction philosophy. ,afe magic hinges on comprehending that document /and the Aipple lin'0. ,o far& if you ha%e read these at a pace of appro(imately one per day& then this will be the third day of reading /it ta'es about a day to fully understand and put into practice the content of each page& and maybe longer. I-%e heard of people going for up to eight months on the first page-s !uestions90. The final step to beginning magic is the practical application of all that stuff you ha%e so diligently wor'ed at understanding. Practical magic re!uires you to understand your: ; 3aster type. ; Power le%el. ; Purpose. ,o& the first thing to do& when applying all this wonderful information is to remember bac' to the first lesson when you were as'ed to determine your type. Ob%iously& if a caster was a 4ecromancer and wished to heal a friend& it would be to the detriment of someone else. * 4ecromancer has to draw on the powers of death& so in that case& a suitable donor /%oluntary or not0 would ha%e to be found. * .ealer& in contrast& would be able to syphon the energies of earth into the wounded friend& and in turn hurt nobody. * 3on urer would ha%e to send a demon or angel into the person in !uestion. There are many different options a%ailable& but each one has a different price to pay. The 4ecromancer may lose a bit of their own life force or ha%e to harm someone else& and would ha%e to 'ill a li%ing person proportionately to the amount of healing they bestow6 the .ealer would run out of a%ailable magic for a while and would be mentally weary6

the 3on urer would not only ha%e to later e(orcise the possessing spirit from their friend but also would render the ser%ices of that spirit una%ailable to themself for a time. Thin' of your ob ecti%e and then thin' of the options a%ailable to you considering your caster type. ,ometimes the cost isn-t worth the benefit. That-s why I personally recommend that whate%er type of caster you are& that you ma'e friends with a caster of opposite alignment and ability /i.e. a $emon 3on urer with a Priest& a .ealer with a 4ecromancer& a "i7ard with a ,orcerer& etc.0. Thin' of your ob ecti%e again& and thin' of how much energy it will cost you to obtain that goal. 5or a Priest& a blessing is nothing. 5or a $emonomancer& a blessing is among the hardest things possible. Be shrewd in using your powers. ,ometimes& what is difficult for one caster class is simple for another. Try to find the most e(pedient and wise way to obtain your goal. If it was to gain money& then ob%iously a .ealer and a Blac' Mage would go about getting that money in a different way. The healer could offer their ser%ices of health& while a Blac' Mage could offer enchanted items or magical ser%ices of their type. Lastly& one must e%aluate purpose. This point is the most difficult to ascertain. If money is the purpose& perhaps that is too difficult to achie%e. Instead& try aiming for a ob as your purpose& and& as a result& obtain money. Purposes range in e%ery way possible. ,ome are altruistic and some are greedy and self1ser%ing. 2ither way& one must be %ery cautious when deciding what their purpose is. "hen you are ready to proceed& prepare yourself mentally. :ou must prepare yourself for results& for the gra%ity of what you-re about to do& and for the e(pulsion of some or all of the energy you ha%e been gathering through the breathing e(ercise set out in Beginning Magic B=. 5irst& e(tend your hands towards the target& or if performing an area effect enchantment& point at the s'y /alternati%ely& some people find ust as much strength by simply concentrating on the tas' at hand without any body positions0. 3lear your mind of disrupti%e thoughts that will distract you from concentrating <CCD on your magical tas' at hand. 4ow& you should thin' of your purpose. Thin' of it %igourously& %i%idly and precisely. 4ow& feel the energy you ha%e sa%ed up naturally flow in the proper proportion out of your body and effecting your will. Let-s ust say& for a solid e(ample& that you-re an Mage who wishes to implant a thought in someone-s mind. 5lush out your mind& +enter+ that person-s mind& and con%ey your thoughts through *ir energy. If it didn-t wor' the first time and the person ust continues laughing)tal'ing or what%er they-re doing and it didn-t seem to affect them& try again. There-s no harm done by trying again. ,ome spells re!uire a fair bit of raw energy to get started. Eust 'eep trying. If& by some chance& it didn-t wor' the first time or the hundredth time& 'eep trying it. It will e%entually wor'& but you may need more energy to perform that spell than you ha%e at the time. It is a frustrating process& but it does wor' with practice. ,ome people get it the first time& some don-t get it till the hundred and first time. It ust depends on how accurately you ha%e carried out these steps and how much energy you ha%e reser%ed to perform these acts of magic. .a%e faith& 'eep practicing& and rest secure in the fact that you now ha%e all the information necessary to become an awesomely powerful magician. There are other ways a%ailable& but this wor's the best& hands down.

The Parting of "ays "hite Magician: The "hite art practitioner has among the easiest arts to ad%ance in. The reason is that "hite casters& typically& are not constantly being hunted by ad%ersaries. They do not start any fights& and therefore are not compelled to finish any& either. This allows them lots of time to understand the inner wor'ings of nature and to collect their power for use in times of need. The main focus for you& as a caster of this sort now& would be to learn the basic uses of herbs& oils& runes and stars. The creation of familiar elemental spirits is also !uite useful& as they can be helpful for gathering information and tending to matters. The more ad%anced caster may wish to create a magical +node+ in which they can e(ercise absolute magical authority when they need to. * node is a concentration of magical energies into an area for absorption. The "hite caster can shape the magical auras of the trees& roc's& plants& and other items to concentrate on a spot& thereby ma'ing it a magical focal point. These are endlessly useful. People who are in ured should be brought here so that the full effect of a "hite caster-s magic can be e(perienced by the recipient of healing magic. *lso& this is a safe ha%en against magic curses from ad%ersaries. Learn how to neutrali7e an area& and e(periment with cleaning an area of magical influence. 2n oy the e(cursion into the white& protecti%e and healing arts. Blac' Magician: The Blac' caster has a difficult tas' ahead. It re!uires much patience and discipline. The main thing to focus on is physical or tangible results. $on-t assume that anything has e%er happened. Be sure that if you cast a fire spell that something /perhaps not e%en your target0 has caught on fire. In the beginning& absorb as much magical energy as possible and then channel all of it into a single action. It must be done that way at the beginning or else your results will be lame and barely noticable. Later& refine the amount of energy and the focus control thereof through e(perience. 5ocus on one type of magic at first& such as fire. $o not attempt to begin by casting ice and fire spells bac' to bac'. Try to perfect fire and then mo%e on to something else. The Blac' magician is to always increase their repertoire of destructi%e and %aried spells. *lways see' out new spells and of a different sort. *t first& perfection of a single spell is sufficient. $o not be discouraged& e%en after a few years of minimal results /if it really comes down to that0. *fter about two years& if you still cannot get anything& !uit6 you are not a Blac' magician if there is no result by that time. Mage: The Mage has a lot of decisions ahead of them. Mages are typically good at the mind arts& earth energy channeling and some of the mo%ement spells& such as remote %iewing and warp space /for the initiated0. Mages usually begin by attempting charm spells& in which the caster attempts to magically win the loyalty of a creature. The success of this spell typically depends on the caster-s s'ill le%el and the intelligence of the target. *ttempt to control the will of beings of lesser intelligence to start& then mo%e up. ,tarting on insects or hordes thereof is good. 5rom there& mo%e up to animals. The local dogs and cats tend to be good targets for that sort of practice. Mo%ing up to human 'ind is a big

step. People& as a rule ha%e a <CC I.F. This is a far cry from the typical dog. Once a mage is at that point& there is no stopping them in the mind field. *nother aforementioned ability is that of the mo%ement field. Mo%ement is %ery difficult because of the concentration le%el re!uired. 2%en a momentary lapse of concentration is sufficient to trap a person or ob ect on the ethereal plane. Ma'ing headway in this field is fun& but difficult. 2n oy e(perimentation& but be a bit wary while practising. The last thing a mage proceeds in is the ability to channel earth energy. This allows the absorption of energy to be used in any sort of spell. Mages are bloodhounds when it comes to finding a node. Try to find one /or ma'e one0 and e(periment in it. $ruid: The $ruid is part of their en%ironment. Through an intimate bond with nature& the $ruid is able to mo%e the %ery forces of nature to co%er their trac's& defend themsel%es or to perform duties. The interesting thing about a $ruid-s ability& though& is that it is %iewed as a natural e(tension of their unity with nature. $ruids are also infamous for planting magical gro%es. 5irst& a specific type of tree is chosen for it abilities& and then a lot of that species of saplings are planted into a spacious circle. The $ruid then %isits this gro%e and meditates in it& ensuring it-s health and channelling magical properties into the trees. "hen these trees are older& they will cooperate with the druid and gi%e what they can to their protector. 5or a $ruid& being in tune with nature and harmonious with all things is the highest calling. This does not mean that $ruids are unable to use the aggressi%e magics in their arsenal& but rather that they are only to be used on those that oppose and disrupt a harmonious way of life. * %ery intelligent and tastefully done mega1 resource on $ruidism /and pretty much e%ery aspect thereof0 can be found at 4eopagan.4et. 2nchanter: *n 2nchanter has one of the most technical of the magical arts. The problem with most 2nchanters is that they: a0 $on-t 'eep a useful Boo' of ,hadows. b0 *ren-t result oriented. If you are an 2nchanter& please do the opposite of the two points pre%iously mentioned. *n 2nchanter has to loo' for physical results in the creation of magical ob ects& such as talismans& amulets& tools& etc. If an item is charged with a fire blessing /let-s say it-s a glo%e0& be sure that it is capable of 'eeping the wearer warm. If it isn-t <CCD effecti%e& it-s useless. Keep a record of the proceedure used and the result reaped. This 2nchanter-s ournal should be of sufficient detail that you can refine your proceedures to the point that e%en the most e(treme results of the most comple( enchantments are a%ailable whene%er they are needed. *nother dangerous pitfal encountered by 2nchanters is o%er1enchanting or using a pre%iously enchanted item. 4e%er charge an item with two opposing spells or with more than four enchantments total9 The ethereal bac'lash from o%er1enchanting an item is sufficient to at least blow out a magician-s magical reser%es for a few days& let alone the physical and mental damage possible. *n item enchanted with two opposing charges is then classed as a cursed item. It is dangerous to the user& and usually e%erybody in the area too. It re!uires a 3leric to remo%e a curse from an item /or& more accurately& to remo%ed the item-s curse from a person0. * 3leric may& with prayer and fasting& remo%e a curse from an item completely.

2lemental Mage: The goal of an 2lemental Magician& at this point& is to become familiar with the collection of elemental energy. This energy is& perhaps& the most abundant type of all& but also& bar none& the hardest to use. 2lemental Magic focusses on the concentration and surging of these energies to achie%e a specific purpose. *ir tends to be the easiest to control since& by its %ery nature& it is always in a state of change. 2arth tends& also by its nature& to be the hardest& thereby resisting the will of the magician. The +tric'+& so to spea'& of 2lemental Magic is to learn what personal techni!ues or methods wor' best for you to get the element in !uestion to obey. $i%iner: The $i%iner-s main ob is to find out what-s going to happen. There are so many %arieties of e(actly how to do this& that there will be no ad%anced page or Master of this art. It is ust too %aried and difficult to pin down. *s a general guideline though& $i%iners use a physical medium of some sort to find out what they can about the future. 2%ery form di%ination imaginable is out there for the ta'ing. *mong many many other types of di%ination are the use of clouds& tarot dec's& runes& water& fire& earth& wind& sand& stic's& roc's& birds& cats& dogs& spiders& bones& intestines& blood& insects& weather conditions& feces& fingernails& palms& finger prints& the infamous crystal ball& head bumps& eye orientation& candles& sali%a& spirits& fairies& sprites& hair& urine& body measurements& tea lea%es& auras& stains& tooth alignment& eating habits& birthdays& 7odiac signs& and a myriad more than I ha%e room for on this page. 2ach $i%iner has a different way of telling what will happen& but the basic gist is that regardless of how they do it& they do it. $i%iners are often employed by magicians who ha%e no di%ining power of their own to see what primary& secondary& tertiary& !uaternary& etc. effects a particular spell will ha%e on them& their friends& their target& etc. In the technological age& many people use online di%ination methods& such as the ones offered at 5acade.3om. These sorts of ser%ices are e%erywhere& and can sometimes be helpful. @sually& it is best to ta'e your future di%ining needs to a real di%iner though& not a randomi7er1based computer program /although many people see the computer as an e!ually legitimate form of di%ining0. Boo's on fortune and future telling abound. One does not ha%e to loo' far to find a place to learn $i%ination. 3on urer: 3on urer-s ha%e no limitations to their ad%ancement e(cept e(perience. *ll the basic 'nowledge for ma or ad%ancement is held within the boo' series& +The 8reater Key of ,olomon+ and +The Lesser Key of ,olomon+. Being careful and being sure to as')command properly is the only true difficulty. *c!uire these boo's& both series of which are a%ailable online& and read them thoroughly. These are all a con urer need. Perhaps later& depending on your own personal alignment& the 8rimoirium Gerum /blac' arts0 may be desired. I ha%e heard also& through a fairly good source& that *. 2. "aite-s boo'& +The Boo' of Blac' Magic and Pacts+ is a good read for the aspiring con urer. .ealer: .ealer-s are& much li'e a Mage& channellers of earth energies. The .ealer is a realigner of magical forces to the benefit of a li%ing being. The theory is& that when the physical body is cut& the ethereal body is cut as well. Both wounds will e%entually heal& but the ethereal cut is usually untended to. The .ealer must feel the energy of the wounded& soften it& and mold it bac' into alignment with the rest of the body. Once the ethereal body is healed& the physical body will !uic'ly follow. By the same to'en& the .ealer can create wounds as well by disaligning the ethereal body of a target. This is

rarely done& as a .ealer is almost always of a good nature. The healing is usually not instant& but it is e(tremely fast. 4othing short of practice will impro%e a .ealer in this art. 4ecromancer: The first way to begin necromancy is to get: ; * Blac' Aobe with .ood and Belt /Optional& but .ighly ,uggested0 ; * ,taff /Optional0 ; * Blan' ,pellboo' /4on1Optional0 These should be sufficient to start. The hardest thing in this particular art is to get started in the first place. *fter that& it should be a snap. * thorough reading of internet necromancy sites is a start. There aren-t any really good sites out there /that I ha%e found0 that co%er the actual use of necromancy& but it will gi%e you a general feel for what to e(pect. There should be boo's a%ailable in any boo' store. If it isn-t there& a great place for alternati%e religion boo's /although they are sadly lac'ing necromancy boo's0 online is MagusBoo's. 4e(t& all the items should be assembled. :ou can shop about and get most things from a typical grocery store& fabric store& forest area& or boo' store. 4e(t& you need to find a cemetery. Of course& being necromancy& you ha%e to ha%e dead people around to start half this stuff. The main tool of a 4ecromancer is the death ether. *n occupational ha7ard of being a 4ecromancer is that& wor'ing so close to the essence of death& one becomes consumed by the %ery forces they are attempting to channel. Being careful& with necromancy as in con uring& is the 'ey to sur%i%al& and correct e(ecution of the rituals is the 'ey to power. "ith 4ecromancy& you must e(periment. There is no cut and dried way to simply pic' up& +The Big Boo' of 4ecromancy+ and be on your way. It is a personali7ed art that re!uires you to do your own brainwor'. ,tudy gem properties& metal properties& demon summoning& wi7ardry /to a small e(tent0 and magecraft for a general idea of how magic wor's. "ith that understanding& warp and twist the 'nowledge so that it can be used to wor' with the forces of death. "rite down e%erything you do TO T.2 L2TT2A9 ,orcerer: Though there is no hard and fast rule as to how a wi7ard or sorceror should continue their studies& there is a general trend for both. ,orcerers tend to e(periment more in the dar' arts and e%entually become /more often than not0 $emonomancers. This is not the best choice if you-re loo'ing to 'eep your sanity& but the fact cannot be denied that demons do get the ob done /sometimes e%en the way you as' them to0. Try to a%oid letting the raw power of e%il magics ta'e o%er your mind. This is far easier said than done& but the 'ey is this: ,orcerers& though generally nice& are occasionally self1ser%ing and nasty. Power& for a ,orceror& is typically attained by con%incing people to do their wor' for them. * classic e(ample of this is a soul stealer. They are a %ery special breed of ,orcerer that drain a portion of the life force of their %ictims in e(change for party1tric' style magical fa%ours. They recei%e a lot more than they gi%e. This power of the soul is then either consumed and turned into raw magical power or is re1released to do the ,orcerer-s bidding. * ,orcerer has a %ery hard ob ahead if they intend to remain a ,orcerer. Many /and truly most0 ,orcerers become 3on urers and $emonomancers or 'ill themsel%es. Be e%er %igilant not to let e%il totally o%erta'e your mind. To continue ,orcerer studies& become %ery proficient at the elemental spells /fire& wind& water& earth0.

"hen you can control the elements& then try to control demons. "hen controlling demons& start small and gradually wor' your way up999 4e%er e%er e%er e%er e%er try to start at the top or you-ll be possessed and you-ll end up 'illing yourself against your will. Aemember that& unli'e 3on urers& ,orcerers ha%e no protection against the dangers of demons. "i7ard: "i7ards are masters of the mo%ement class of spells. These are %ery hard to effect because of the fine mental concentration re!uired and the large amounts of power for e%en a short mo%ement. * tra%elling distance of any more than a 'ilometre can ta'e up to an entire day to reser%e enough energy for. More often than not& spells of this nature aid in the endurance& stamina and speed of a "i7ard-s target /often themsel%es0 such that weariness does not set in and that ma(imum efficiency is obtained. Try mo%ement spells on e%erything but yourself first so that you can gain the e(perience of the precise mental co1ordination re!uired to mo%e an ob ect without trapping it on the ethereal plane& or to hasten a li%ing organism without damaging the internal organs. "e& after all& do not want the ethereal plane becoming as cluttered by stray ob ects& and we do not want the targets of beneficial spells being in ured. There are other ways of teleporting which ta'e %irtually nothing in the way of power but are not guaranteed. The "i7ard is to use their special status of being able to remain neutral in the magical realm& being able to use both white and blac' forms /though mostly white0& and to use their abilities for o%erall good. To attain the le%el of "i7ard usually re!uires a long time& so don-t use the title unless you thin' you deser%e it. Better yet& get someone else to call you a wi7ard /a person or a truthful spirit0 before using the title. The main point to remember when ad%ancing in "i7ardry is not to fa%our one sort of magic& but rather to 'eep a balance. 3ontinue practising and remember the responsibility that follows power in%ariably. Priest)3leric: The Priest)3leric must /and %eritably yearns to0 learn the nature of 8od. The combination of wisdom& 'nowledge and faith are what ma'e a truly strong practitioner. ,tudy of the scriptures is the way to 'nowledge& the leading of 8od is the way to wisdom& and the application of wisdom& coupled with 8od-s leading& is the way to faith. I can-t really say much more than a good copy of the Bible can about this topic. I suppose the main challenge for a beginning practitioner is to li%e a holy life /holy means to be set apart and consecrated0. Once a holy life has been attained& a Priest is then empowered to the e(orcism of demonic forces from a person)place)thing. Aemember also that 8od wor's in many ways that we do not e(pect. 2%en if you are e(pecting a miracle& chances are that 8od will not use that way unless it-s necessary. The story goes something li'e this /there are a thousand %ariations on this story for almost e%ery sort of religion0: One day there was a Priest who prayed day and night for the succession of e%il magic in his area. This prayer went on for months. 5inally he consulted another Priest and found out that the e%il magicians not only increased in power& but that they were now using it on each other. The first Priest& in a lament at the increase of magic& told his story to the second Priest and as'ed 8od right then& out loud& why he didn-t answer the prayer. The second Priest loo'ed and said& +*re you sure that your prayer wasn-t answered#+. Ta'e it for what you will. The Priest must learn faith& practice holiness& and rely on the powers of the spiritual to aid them in their tas'.

,atanist: * Magical ,atanist has a fair amount to do. $espite the possible benefits& a price is paid in e!ual or greater proportion to the benefits reaped. ,acrifice of the proper sort should be offered to ,atan or a demon. 5ind out what sort of sacrifice is needed& such as blood& food& oil& desecrations& worship& a pact& or whate%er. 2ach entity re!uires something different. *d%ancement to .igher Le%els Aead this page %ery carefully. It co%ers the most important part of your magical ourney: ,pell creation9 This page contains all the answers to +3an you gi%e me a spell for HHHHHHHH #+ !uestions. Please read this and understand e%ery paragraph since metaphysics and spells are the parts of magic you will continue to research for as long as you are a magician of any art9 By this time you ha%e read all the introductory information necessary to begin the absorption of energy& energy storage& using energy towards a purpose& and ha%e decided on a casting art to begin with. These are all 'ey foundations and& to ha%e made it this far& you must ha%e had a great deal of dedication. 3ongratulations. ,ince the basics are co%ered and you ha%e a firm mental and practical grasp on the use of that information& you will want to 'now& +.ow do I go farther# Isn-t there a period between Beginner and *d%anced#+ The answer is& +:es& there is an intermediary stage.+ The description of this stage will be 'ept brief for two reasons: B<. ,o as to a%oid confusion and B=. Because from this point on& you are your own magician. In the beginning stage you learned how to store energy. In the intermediary stage& you will learn how to ma'e)use spells. I will not& as many may e(pect& herein list all the possible spells& the chants)phrases associated with them& or gi%e any spell type or description for any art /sa%e for the e(ample later on0. The 'ey to progressing is to begin using your Boo' of ,hadows. * Boo' of ,hadows is an absolutely necessary part of learning in any casting art mentioned within The Library of Knowledge. It is& essentially& a ournal of your e(periments into magic& both successful and unsuccessful& which helps you determine in hindsight what you did& what you didn-t do& why you did)didn-t do it& why the spell wor'ed)didn-t wor'& and what you can do to impro%e)progress. Once you ha%e a Boo' of ,hadows /which& at first& will be nothing more than a blan' ournal boo'0& you ha%e to thin' bac' to one of the !uestions you answered in +Beginning Magic+ to e%en begin studying. The !uestion I refer to is& +"hat do you want#+ It is the third !uestion of magic& for those who do not remember. Once you ha%e found a purpose& you must then use the energies that you ha%e learned to manipulate to attain a result which will effect that purpose. Aemember that& with a few e(ceptions& spells are unintelligent and will simply do their duty& much li'e a discharged bullet. Thin' of the purpose& and then use the abilities a%ailable to your caster type to achie%e that purpose. Of course& you-re probably confused by this /but bra%o if you-re not90& so I-ll pro%ide an e(ample:

3aster Type: 4ecromancer Purpose: ,trength * 4ecromancer& of course& wor's only with death& so things such as using the 5ire element or calling on 8od or Ieus are out of the !uestion. 4ecromancers wor' with $eath 2ssence& so now the !uestion is +.ow do I get strength through death#+ "ell& as normal people wal' around and use strength in the process& a 4ecromancer does too. To get strength then& could be to rob their strength. In this case& the 4ecromancer fills their hand with death essence and uses it to switch with a target. "hile draining /some would say +forcing out+0 life force from a target& death essence is replacing the stolen life force. In this way& the target will become wea'er and the 4ecromancer becomes stronger by supercharging their energy reser%es. To turn this abililty into a bona fide spell& all you ha%e to do is gi%e it a name. ,omething simple and straight1forward& li'e +Life $rain+. This& then& is the Life $rain spell. 4ow& I ust cheated and told you how to perform one spell. It will not happen again. 4e%er as' someone +.ow do I cast a spell for HHHHHHHHHH in my art#+ or +"hat do I do to get HHHHHHHHHHHHH#+ The 'ey to starting magic of this sort is that you learn the rules of spell creation and spell performance on your own without any help from anybody9 @sing your Boo' of ,hadows you try something& record the procedure& record the results& and write down what you thin' went wrong)right and impro%e on it or& when satisfied& mo%e on to another spell. This then& in a nutshell& is intermediate magic: The ability to learn on your own.

Part Three: *d%anced Occult Magic

The Touch of $ar'ness By definition& a practitioner of Blac' Magic is someone who specialises in the casting of offensi%e& aggressi%e and destructi%e spells. Blac' magic centres around the theory that +the best defence is a good offence+ and thus concentrates on the use of magics that are meant solely for the purpose of destroying. To this end& the Blac' Magician must learn the arts of many different caster types& pic'ing and choosing which spells to 'eep and which spells to discard. *lso& as with all distinct caster types& Blac' Mages /the term used for a practitioner of Blac' Magic& despite the fact that they are not true mages& but are rather only mages by the etymological definition of the word /i.e. a Magician00 ha%e a few spells specifically of their own. The Blac' Mage-s spells /remember& these are not real Mages0 come from a %ariety of what might be loosely termed& +The 3asting *rts+. Though there are a lot of religions which use magic in one form or another& the Blac' Mage-s arsenal comes from the casting arts which are listed here& in The Library of Knowledge. .a%ing an affinity for destructi%e spells& the Blac' Mage hones only those spells which bring about the decay or destruction of their target& belie%ing that this is the only useful way to progress in life and magic. @nli'e a ,orcerer& the Blac' Magician may worship certain deities /perhaps e%en themself& as the ,atanist does0& and may hold to certain rules of casting which they find impro%e their performance. To the end of a well1rounded repertoire of offensi%e spells& the Blac' Mage ta'es from the following arts: ; 3on uring)$emonomancy ; 2lemental Magic ; 2nchanting ; 4ecromancy The use of each of these arts will be further e(pounded on. *s for 3on uring and $emonmancy: these arts tend to found the 'nowledge base and insidious powers of a Blac' Mage. Though not used %ery often for the purpose of totally destroying an enemy& it is !uite common in this art to use them for intelligence gathering or for acts of treachery and subtle destruction. $emons& as opposed to standard spells& ha%e intelligence and power that can wor' in a multitude of ways and can change methods without direct instruction from the caster. .a%ing this benefit& sometimes a demon is the only force necessary to rectify a situation.

$emons& howe%er /and than'fully0& are not the only source of power for a Blac' Mage. One of the landmar' abilities of a Blac' Mage is to be able to ta'e different spells from different casting types altogether& and bind them into one cohering magic form. *nother one of the arts that is sapped of it-s uni!ue abilities is 2lemental magic. Blac' Mages tend to be fiercely fond of using the 2lemental class of magic since it represents the !uic'est and most effecti%e form of physical destruction a%ailable. 5ire& among the four elements& is a classic among these casters. Though ne%er able to reach a le%el of control o%er the elements that compares with a dedicated 2lemental magician& some Blac' Mages study hard enough that they are e%entually able to use the rudimentary le%el spells of 2lemental Magic. "ith the e(ception of 2arth& the elements are usually mastered at the most basic le%el by a Blac' Mage simply for the purpose of being able to use them for unleashing chaos. Gery little from 2lemental magic is accessible to a Blac' Mage& but often& instead of 2lemental magic& 2nchanting is used. *lso with 2nchanting& %ery little is a%ailable without dedicated study& but it tends to be far more forgi%ing and accessible to other caster types. Blac' Mages use this to enhance their normal operations. If a Blac' Mage were simply trying to curse someone& this would be the art of choice. @sing a 5ire 2lemental& the con uration instructions of which can be found at ,pirit Online& a Blac' Mage can create a +spirit+ to go and harrass)destroy)harm a selected target /although the ,pirit Online lin' is "hite magic based& so it will ne%er recommend that you use an 2lemental ,er%ant for such purposes0. This type of magic is based in 2nchanting and will probably not be the strongest ability of a Blac' Mage& but still is a casting ability worth mentioning. The final borrowed source of a Blac' Mage-s ability is based in the use of 4ecromancy. 4ecromancy is infamous for two things: raising undead minions and %ampiric spells. Though the raising of bodies or entities is an ability far abo%e a Blac' Mage& they are capable of tapping the %ampiric and draining powers of 4ecromancy. By learning the basics of the use of $eath 2ssence& the Blac' Mage can employ draining spells and spells of harm that will ta'e the magical and)or life energies of a target and add it to one-s own reser%es /this does not mean that a Blac' Mage can steal your soul or shorten your life& but rather that a feeling of weariness and lethargy can be induced0. *lso& as with e%ery distinct caster type& there are a few spells a%ailable to a Blac' magician that are truly and uni!uely for that caster class alone. Much li'e the $eath 2ssence of 4ecromancy& Blac' magic holds power through the use of the blac' channels. Many Blac' Mages hold the claim that& much li'e death essence& there is a blac' energy source out there that can be commanded and controlled with will power. This enables a %ariety of spells for the Blac' Mage. The different uses of the blac' energy cannot be discussed here in any meaningful way& but 'nowledge of it-s e(istence forms a base for the Blac' Mage-s studies. This is the art of the Blac' Mage: triumph through force.

Practical and $i%ine Theology Meet J*ll biblical e(tracts are ta'en from a 4*,K 3lerics are currently a rare breed of magician& despite the fact that at one point in history they were the most abundant religious ran' a%ailable. The art of 3lerical magic has long been lost to the belief that all magics are e%il de%ices of ,atan. In truth& the practice of non1demonic magic by priests and clerics was widely supported by all people& both 3hurchmen and Laymen& until the publication of the Malleus Maleficarum in <?LM. "ith that publication& written by Kramer and ,prenger /two $ominican priests0& the whole magical community was turned upside down. People /mostly0 ceased using the demonic magics and began in%esting all of their time in the natural magics. This tradition 11 the use of natural and di%ine magics 11 li%es on in 3lerics. 5irst& so as to understand the basis of power for the 3leric& one must e(amine their lifestyle and philosophy. The 3leric must possess three attributes in order to use their magics. 5irstly& a 3leric must be spiritually ordained in 3hrist. This does not imply that an earthly second part be present& but rather that a belief in the sa%ing power of Eesus 3hrist and the repentance of sins are parts of the 3leric-s life. ,econdly& a 3leric must aspire to spiritual and moral perfection in e%eryday life& based on < Thessalonians ?:= +.. that each of you 'now how to possess his own %essel in sanctification and honour.+ *s a 3leric& you must +show yourself to be an e(ample of good deeds with purity in doctrine6 dignified& NandO sound in speech which is beyond reproach in order that the opponent may be put to shame& ha%ing nothing bad to say+. /Titus =:P&L0. * 3leric li%es their life in holiness& always stri%ing to be of the best moral and spiritual character that they can be. * day filled with prayer and solemn holiness is typical for a true 3leric. 3hrist 3lerics are %ery familiar with the bible& both old and new testament& and lead an e(emplary life of de%otion to 8od and of wor' befitting a ser%ant of 3hrist. The benefits of this life style are manifold6 some manifest themsel%es in the afterlife& and some manifest themsel%es in this life. The benefits reaped in this life are the abilities of 3lerical magic. 3lerics are famous for a few abilities& both through e(perience and through legend& that set them apart from the other caster types. 3lerics& historically& ha%e been attributed the powers of healing& magic immunity& e(orcism& and calling di%ine inter%ention. .ealing for a 3leric& unli'e a standard .ealer& does not in%ol%e a 'nowledge of the ethereal body. 5or a 3leric& the wor' is done by the .oly ,pirit. The .oly ,pirit is that spiritual part of the 3leric which indwells them at the time of their The Aesurrection of La7arus by Eesus

sal%ation. @pon willing an in ured person to be re%i%ed in the name of Eesus 3hrist /through which a 3leric recei%es any and all of their power0& the .oly ,pirit is the power which ta'es o%er and begins to wor' the re%i%ification process in a target. $one with true compassion& a solid faith& and /most importantly0 a holy purpose& a 3leric-s healing is often instantaneous. *nother rare but common power of the 3leric is their seeming ability to ignore the effects of many spells. "hile not constituting a total immunity& the magical immunity of a prayerful 3leric is a common attribute. The stronger the 3leric is in their spiritual and moral wal' with 8od& the purer their life and the stronger their prayers& the higher their immunity to direct magic seems. 2(orcism is a power that was often used by medie%al 3lerics& and continues to be a common function of modern 3lerics. The demons which ha%e been summoned by a 3on urer often can be dislodged from the earth sphere by the holy presence of a 3leric. @sing de%ices such as .oly "ater& a 3leric can banish unwanted demons. ,ometimes& though not often& the sheer presence of a holy ser%ant of 8od& such as a dedicated 3leric& is able to frighten a demon into submission. 3lerics must be fondly familiar with the Bible to be able to banish a demon but& with enough practice& can perform such a tas' with a holy strength. Eesus on the 3ross s The last and most notable ability of a 3leric is that of calling di%ine inter%ention. This is by far the most powerful ability that a 3leric can call on. It ithe power to call 8od himself to directly act in a situation& thereby often turning incredibly poor odds in the fa%our of the 3leric-s holy purpose. Impossible situations commonly turn themsel%es to the 3leric-s fa%our when di%ine inter%ention is called. *ngels may assist the 3leric in a infinite %ariety of ways& depending on the situation& and occasionally 8od himself inter%enes on behalf of the 3leric to sort matters out with the power of di%inity.

3oncerning the Planes $emonology has been a study that humanity has been interested in since the dawn of the written word. 2%en in formal literature as early as 3hristopher Marlowe-s $octor 5austus /<MC?#0 has the image of a mortal ma'ing a pact with the de%il been of intrigue. * great many informal tales& passed down by legend and word of mouth& ha%e pre1dated 5austus while still communicating the same idea 11 that humans can control the supernatural. The means to this control has always been a sordid issue. *fter all& how does one say definiti%ely that there is only one way to do such a thing& or that any one way is better than another# It is a hard tas'& to say the least. There are many methods a%ailable& but the most popular ones of the current age come from four sources: The Keys of ,olomon& The ,acred Magic of *bramelin the Mage& ,atanism and 5ol' $emonomancy. The Keys of ,olomon suggest an approach which both honours the demonic realm and which ac'nowledges the superiority of 8od o%er demons& thereby logically ma'ing the e(tension to use .im as a mechanism to control the hellspawn. The Keys of ,olomon suggest elaborate rituals in the +8reater Keys+ /the first three boo's of the eight boo' series0. These rituals in%ol%e a large amount of moral& physical and spiritual preparation& magical tools& and precise incantations intoned at the correct times. It is a fairly comple( and in%ol%ed system& but it has sur%i%ed so long only because it wor's. The bottom line is that& despite consuming resources& it is the longest standing and most reliable manual on con uration a%ailable. The ,acred Magic of *bramelin the Mage is another old collection of tomes used for a %ariety of reasons. ,ome of these reasons are to control the spirits of earth to obey the 3on urer-s bidding. .ere is the brea'down of this three1boo' collection as stated by ,. L. Mac8regor Mathers /a noted translator of magical te(ts0 on page si( of the first boo': 5irst Boo': Q *d%ice and *utobiography6 both addressed by the *uthor to his son Lamech. ,econd Boo': Q 8eneral and complete description of the means of obtaining the Magical Powers desired. Third Boo': Q The application of these Powers to produce an immense number of Magical results. *s with The Keys of ,olomon& The ,acred Magic of *bramelin the Mage comes from a Eewish mystical tradition aimed at the personal purity of a potential 3on urer. It suggests rituals intended to 'eep the 3on urer pure so that the e%il of demons cannot ta'e hold of whoe%er may con ure them. I mention this point only to bring it to you attention& to highlight its contrast with the ne(t two methods of con uring.

,atanism also& as one might guess from the name& has a hand in the manipulation of demons. The method of protection& in this case& is radically different from that used in the Eewish con uration systems. The theory in this method is that humans and demons are on the same side 11 that of being anti18od and pro1hedonist. $emons are also& in this %iew& merely manifestations of the mind& li'e 5reudian +ego+ gi%en form and let loose to roam the earth. *s such& ,atanic con uration rituals in%ol%e the in%ocation of many ancient gods and entities to o%ersee that a desire is met. In e(change& some sort of trade is made. * payment is made to the gods responsible for fulfilling a ,atanic spell in the form of food& drin'& money& or some other tangible offering. Ocassionally& a non1tangible thing& such as your health& can be used as a swap item for these demonic trades& although trades of this nature are generally unacceptable in ,atanic con urations and fall more appropriately into the +5ol' $emonomancy+ class. The re!uirements change& of couse& in accordance with which gods fulfilled the re!uest. 5ol' $emonomancy is the final method used in the modern age. This type of con uration has no cut1and1dry rules of what to do or not do& since it %aries with each practitioners beliefs and practices. Typically it adheres to a 5austian barter system& not unli'e the ,atanist. The difference is what gets bartered. :our soul is the classical trade item for a con uration made with 5ol' $emonomancy. In e(change for some earthly pleasure& the 3on urer usually offers the souls of R amount of others. If R amount cannot be obtained by the agreed date /+obtained+ usually means ma'ing R amount of other people enter into a pact of their own with one or more demons0& the 3on urer-s own soul is forfeit and their life is ta'en as a security. The 5austian deal& howe%er& is only half of what can be classed as 5ol' $emonomancy. The other half is similar to the methods of a ,orcerer. In this second %ariation& the 3on urer is 'ept totally secured from the demons that are used through the application of sigils& symbols& magical ingredients& protection spells& amulets& talismans& and whate%er else can be mustered to resist the maelstrom of a demon-s entrance to the physical plane. This mish1mash has had mi(ed results throughout history& with some being recorded as complete successes& and others ending in utter chaos and bloodshed. 8i%en the %ast array of possibilities for the 3on urer& the only constant is that one must study. 2ach of these methods in%ol%e a great deal of thought& time& effort& concentration& patience& and wisdom. The 3on urer must immerse themsel%es in the study of $emonology until they are fully e!uipped to grapple with the unseen e%il in the ethereal atmosphere and bend it to their will.

I ha%e decided the best way to do this is to discuss the ad%anced duties of the $ruids without going into detail. *fter proper preparation and time& the student will 'now which path is to be hers or his. $ruidic 8rades In $ruidism& there are > areas of speciali7ation. These areas are Bard& O%ate and $ruid. *ll three ha%e areas in common and sometimes o%erlap. Bards Bards are the historians& genealogists& musicians& entertainers& libraries& news commentators& and 'eepers of a nations culture. Their powers of memory are beyond compare. Traditional Bardic magical capabilities co%ered di%ination& satire& and prophecy. $i%ination and prophecy are fairly self1e(planatory& howe%er satire needs further e(planation. ,atire coming from a Bard is a he( or a curse. Bards could raise boils on the face of their %ictims& cause misfortune& or 'ill the %ictim outright by singing of their %ictims using satire. It is not a good thing to be on the bad side of a bard9 Modern applications of Bardism magic would include creating song spells or spell poems. This creati%ity could be applied in a myriad of ways to modern magical techni!ues commonly a%ailable. The 'ey is to use your imagination.

O%ates O%ates are the shaman& the seers& the masters in this world in touch with the Otherworld. Their principle function was prophecy and di%ination of the most e(traordinary sort. *n O%ate could see far into the future or well into the distant past. They could spea' with the dead or the gods themsel%es. $ruids $ruids are the professionals& the philosophers& and the 'eepers of the mysteries. The doctors& the lawyers / udges& uries& *4$ e(ecutioners0& the priests& teachers& and leaders. $ruids were %ersed in history& law& and magic of all sorts& nature craft of all sorts& healing arts and more. Principle $ruidic magical functions included wor'ing with the weather& the seasons& and the nature around them. $ruids are also seers& sorcerers& and magicians. They bring balance between this world and the Otherworld. $ruidic .istory Modern 3eltic historians are di%ided on how Bards& O%ates& and $ruids related to each other. ,ome feel that each was a separate Order& others feel that Bards and O%ates were a subset of the $ruids and a third set of theories holds that the Bards and O%ates were once $ruids but became specialist Orders o%er a long period of time. .istory isnSt clear. The o%erlapping of abilities ma'es it e%en harder to discern. Modern $ruidism generally has Bards and O%ates as the first two grades of a $ruidic order. ,ome orders in%ert which is first. In my opinion& the speciali7ation creates different techni!ues to achie%e the same magical result. Bards sing& O%ates tal' to spirits& $ruids cast spellsT or something li'e that.

The 5our 8reat Powers The 2lemental Magicians approach to magic is much li'e a ,orcerer& in that raw power is the preferred method of spell casting& as opposed to refining the same amount of power for ma(imum effect. 2lemental magicians are concerned with& as the name suggests& the elements. The elements of concern are 5ire& *ir& 2arth and "ater. I will attempt to describe at length what the functions of these respecti%e elements are& and the use of them in the 2lemental system. @nli'e many of the other casting systems& there is no secret to the function of 2lemental magic. Fuite simply& it is harnessing the energy of a desired element and focussing it towards a physical manifestation. *s a !uic' addendum to the preamble: Keep in mind that the 2lemental magic system described here /and throughout The Library of Knowledge0 is literal. 5ire& in this case& does not include things that are not related to physical fire /such as strength& aggressi%eness& and other correspondences of fire associated with 2nchanters0. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

5ire: Li'e a magical magnifying glass& the 2lemental magician focuses all the loose fire magic floating about into one unified beam of energy. The result of this is a mar'ed increase of heat. Perhaps the ob ect targetted by a wea'er 2lemental magician will not instantly burst into flames /if combustible0& but it will at least ac!uire a distinctly higher temperature than it should ha%e. * +tric'1of1the1trade+ in using fire energy is to withhold as much as you can& and then release as much as possible all at once in a concentrated burst1stream. *ir: *ir is typically the most used element because of its highly %ersatile nature. *ir can be soft and slow to cool down a tired magician& and con%ersely it can be raging and concentrated to destroy structures& deflect pro ectiles or to relocate ob ect forcibly. *ir is most often used to ma'e life easier& not as a destructi%e force. It can be used to cool /or warm& I suppose& depending on the temperature of the air in !uestion0 something& to hinder anything airborne& or to create mini1twisters. 2arth: 2arth 2lemental magic is %ery odd. The manifestations are e(tremely %aried and radically alter whate%er they affect. 2arth can be used& in its most powerful form& to cause earth!ua'es& and in lesser forms to cause ground to ca%e in& to form spi'es& to become uncooperati%e to an ad%ersary& and %irtually anything else a caster can imagine. The tric' to using 2arth is to combine it with another element. 2arth and "ind e!uals a sandstorm6 2arth and "ater e!uals !uic'sand or mud. 2arth and 5ire e!uals hardened clay /which

can be pre1shaped0. The drawbac' of 2arth& howe%er is that it is e(tremely rare to find an 2lemental magician who has anything more than passing control of it. "ater: "ater is the !uietest of the elements& though no less powerful. It can be used to turn dirt into !uic'sand& to cause whirlpools& to feed dying plantlife& or to 'ill o%er1 thri%ing plantlife through depri%ation& to cause rain& or e%en a local flood. "ater& though often called +The 2lement of Life+& is also !uite capable of ending life if present in inappropriate amounts. Lastly& "ater is also used to !uench fires.

The 5usion of 2ssence and Being *n 2nchanter /sometimes spelt +2nchaunter+6 esp. in Old 2nglish circa <>CC1<VCC0 has a system wor'ed out that is stri'ingly similar to that of the 2lemental magician. The 2lemental magician wor's with the four elements in their raw forms& casting fire to set ob ects abla7e. The 2nchanter& howe%er& does not cast fire to obtain the warmth or destructi%e properties of fire& but rather uses +fire+ as a title for an ideal or notion of being. +5ire+ to an 2nchanter means that one is trying to infuse the !ualities associated with fire into an ob ect or being. 5ire-s attributes include things such as Life& *ggressi%eness& Aapid .ealing& .ealth& ,trength& Power& Inner 5ortitude& 3ourage& etc& etc. The list is %irtually ine(haustible. This page will attempt to e(plain& at length& the ma or uses of the four elements and then e(plain a highly refined form of 2nchanting affectionately called +"ishcraft+. This page will not ma'e sense unless you understand& or at least ha%e access to& a table of correspondences. Two good ones are: The Mage Page: 3orrespondences or Lud%ig-s Tower: 3ommonly @sed ,pell 3omponents 5ire: The 2nchanter approaches +fire+ from a %astly different angle than any other art. Instead of the base use of fire as an actual element& it represents acti%e energy. 5ire is most commonly used for two purposes /though there is a %ery wide array of possiblities for this element6 do not limit it to these abilities alone0: .ealing and ,trength. To heal& an 2nchanter must /true to their trade0 enchant something for the true target to absorb the spell from. @sually a piece of ewellery is used. *ll of the gemstone and metallurgical correspondences must be adhered to when preparing to enchant /so don-t cast fire into a lapis la7uli stone0. 5or e(ample& a ruby stone set in gold would be ideal. The ruby stone has !ualities similar to fire& as does the metal gold. "ith this combination& a mundane ring can be made into a ring of healing. The 2nchanter would ta'e this ring to a place where they could concentrate& and would hold it. "hile holding the ring& the power of healing& warmth& strength& %itality& and well1being would be channelled into the ring so that the bearer of it would recei%e the aforementioned benefits. The 2nchanter should be able to see the warm and fur%ent power of fire flowing from their own body and solidifying in the ring. "hen the ring is no longer able to hold any more power it is gi%en to the correct person. *ir: This element is usually associated with the following attributes: Psychism& mental ability& intelligence& in%isibility& co%ert operations& illusion& secrets& speed& protection /to a lesser degree0 and magic. To use the element of air is to imply something of a non1tangible nature being used to affect the tangible. *ir is often charged into amulets of the appropriate correspondence& such as sil%er metal and an moonstone gem& to ma'e people in%isible& more psychically adept& or to increase the power of the mind& such as wisdom&

intelligence& or mental endurance. It is possible& with the element of *ir& to turn a normal mundane into a low1le%el Mage by increasing their control o%er their own mind and the minds of others. By the presence of this element& it is possible for an 2nchanter to +bestow magic+ on a person who is not naturally a %ery s'illed magician /or a magician at all0. *ir can be used to increase speed as well& be it physical speed& mental speed& or& in an ad%anced enough state& the speed of time itself. *ir is a %ery %ersatile element& and as a result& is able to pass on its %ersatility to those things it enchants. 2arth: The powers of earth& while not actually referring to the physical mo%ement or disruption of the ground& still harbour the !ualities that we %alue the earth for: ,olidity& power& stability& defence& strength& endurance& defiance& immo%ability& firmness& etc. The power of earth is usually used not to create new attributes& but rather to 'eep and strengthen e(isting ones. 4otice that the attribute of strength is present in the element of 5ire and 2arth. The difference between the two applications is as follows: If strength were bestowed by using the element of fire& a person would become strong& e%en if they were not before. Their strength through fire enchantment would be !uic'& powerful& and would fade as !uic'ly as it came afterwards. 2arth strength& con%ersely& would only enhance the e(isting strength of a person& but would be more resilient and last longer. 2arth is a slower and more stable form of enchantment which allows the user to reap benefits far longer afterwards than any other element /supposing any other element was cast with e!ual or lesser strength0. The mainstay of 2arth is the ability to bestow endurance. "ater: "ater is the basic element of life on planet earth. It is the healing source that regenerates the body and refreshes the mind. In 2nchanting& it carries the following attributes: 3almness& reflecti%eness& spirituality& passi%e psychism& di%ining& healing& peace& serenity& !uietness& muting& !uiet power& passi%e defence& and one1sided adaptability. "ater is used mainly for three purposes: To defend against other magician& to tune your spirituality& and to heal. *s a defence against other magicians& water is a 'ey de%ice. The tric' to water is that it can not& per se& be used offensi%ely. To mute another magician-s magical ability or to simply protect yourself from stray spells or powers& an 2nchanter casts a globe of water energy around another magician to stop the in)out flow of energy from that magician. To protect& a sphere is made around the caster which allows only their own energy to permeate the barrier. To be used psychically or to tune spirituality& one would find)create a reflecting pool and bless it with the power of water. Lastly& as a healing de%ice& water can be used to re1open bloc'ed energy channels within the body. "ater is a passi%e but powerful force. "ishcraft: "ishcraft is a different spin entirely. The art of "ishcraft is a subdi%ision of the abilities of an 2nchanter allowing the greatest fle(ibility in purpose. 2ssentially& it the accumulation of all the elemental powers /'nown in massed form as 2ther0& which is sent out to perform a purpose. This is distinctly different from using the indi%idual elements in one ma or way: the indi%idual elements focus on performing one Wtas'W& but an ether cluster under the influence of "ishcraft is sent out to accomplish a WgoalW. * goal may

entail many tas's& and that is what ma'es it such a uni!ue s'ill. But& to !ualify this ability on an e!ual le%el with the other elements& an ether sphere which has been released under the influence of "ishcraft is not nearly as powerful as a single concentrated element and is %ery difficult to produce in the first place /since it re!uires the storage of not one& but four elements at a time& all of which conflict with each other0. "ishcraft simply collects a sphere of the four elements& implants a full purpose in it& and lets it float away to perform a duty.

The Touch of Life In ad%anced healing we try to step beyond the the normal cantrips& chants and spells to reach the true mechanics and s'ill in%ol%ed in the art of healing. "e also attempt to learn how to a%oid sacrificing our own energy or aura to heal another. I will e(plain both the methodology and processes of healing& as well as some of the abilities one can use in this art. 4o matter what %iew one ta'es on healing most agree that the outer etheric)auric or simply put +non1physical+ body ta'es in ury along with the physical body too. It-s belie%ed that when physical damage is incurred& the etheric body becomes misaligned and small fissures begin to open up. These etheric wounds heal much slower and sometimes not at all /often the cause of chronic or reoccurring pain0. This is the .ealer-s purpose: to realign and bring harmony to this etheric damage so the physical body can heal more efficiently. This can be done through a number of methods including /what I-%e termed0 *uric Transference and the more refined art of *uric .ealing. *uric Transference is when the .ealer will sacrifice his)her own energy and strength to bind the etheric wound. Most .ealer-s start at this le%el until they learn to channel energy and mo%e on to *uric .ealing. This method can be both ta(ing and dangerous if you don-t 'now when to stop. s *uric .ealing is a much finer& less simple s'ill. $uring *uric .ealing the caster draws elemental energy into themsel%es and then e(pels it to use in the binding process. Once it-s decided which method is to be used /I ad%ise the latter as it is less ta(ing on your own energy supply0& the caster must decide which pto use. My two preferred processes are binding and aligning. $uring a binding& energy /preferably channeled energy0 is used to cleanse& close& and then bind or +bandage+ the wound. 3leansing is to basically ensure any negati%e energis remo%ed from the wound. natural state and cycle. The binding of the wound is %isuali7ed much li'e bandaging aphysical wound& and has the same purpose 11 to ensure the wound doesn-t re1open. *ligning of a wound ta'es less time but more energy& so this should only be used oyou-%e learned to channel energy into yourself. The basics behind aligning is that you create enough energy to cause the other field to become supple and soft /this will actuacreate a noticeable heat0.The rela(ed field can then be manipulated bac' into a normal& healthy state. Because during aligning you actually fuse the field together& no bandage is

needed. W4OT2W To efficiently manipulate a field you must allow your field to come into contact with it& and then use your mind to see the mo%ement of the field. Mo%ement of the hands can aid with this. that is being able to sense the auric field. This can be done either with sight or touch. People who can see the aura will notice mar's or +stains+ on the field& these appear blagray& or muddier coloured. These stains are sights of damage to the etheric bodies or sights of physical pain. If you cannot see the aura& despair not9 The same way blind people can function by feeling their way through things so can you. The etheric stainoften feel li'e 'notted tissue or hard)rough spots and can often ma'e you feel slightly pained or ill. This is the way you will find your wound to wor' on closing. Other usefuabilities can be clairaudiance and the use of a pendulum. often impart information onto the .ealer. Pendulums can be useful in finding damaged areas in the auric field. *nother s'ill the healer can use is con%erting energy. 5or e(ampif you ust channel white energy and then e(pel it there is no speciali7ed strength. But if while cleansing a wound /for e(ample0 you e(pel red energy you can more effecti%ely brea' and dispel negati%e energy and physical bacteria. The commonly used colours in healing are red& orange& yellow& green& blue& indigo& and %iolet. *ny !uestions to the usage of these colours /or anything else0 I will gladly answer. elements& so too can they channel energy out of a target. This lea%es the target weand the caster proportionally stronger. *s the s'ill is not simple to learn& it is best to getas much practice healing and drawing elemental energy before attempting draining the life from a target. etheric body. In these days when new diseases seem to spring li'e wildfire& .ealers are probably one of the most needed indi%iduals. .ealers often concern themsel%es with thewell being of others before their own& and the principles of truth& life& ustice& and harmony.

Mind O%er Matter The art of subtle domination of the en%ironment and one-s surroundings is summed most perfectly in the art of Magecraft. The Mage is a highly intelligent& peaceful& mentally focussed indi%idual who see's the purest forms of control o%er themself& their surroundings& the people they meet& and the beings they come into contact with/* Mage must be peaceful& as an angry& %engeful& confused or otherwise highly emotional person cannot properly concentrate0. 2%erything aspect of life that concerns a Mage from day to day is domineered so that the Mage is always in total control. Magecraft& as a whole art& consists essentially of three hubs: Psychism& 4atural Magic& and Temporal Magic. The highly psychic nature of a Mage lends itself well to being de%eloped into a finely tuned art. To control li%ing beings& a Mage must learn to impose his)her will. @sually& what a Mage does& is to begin with becoming one with the en%ironment. This will be discussed at length later on& so I will lea%e the detailed e(planation until then. *fter a Mage has become one with their en%ironment& a Psychic Thread is opened between the Mage and the Target. This is often seen& with the %ision of a Magician& as a yellow1blue thread of light which e(tends from the Third 2ye of the Mage& to the e!ui%alent of their target. The opening of a psychic thread allows the Mage to listen to thoughts& see past thoughts and to insert thoughts of their own directly into the mind of their target. The pure energy of a psychic lin' is a phenominal e(perience& and not one that is soon forgotten. *t first& it may be hard to lin' with another sentient being& and it may feel as though only the surface of the targets mind is being penetrated. It is a fine way to start. * Mage will 'now the instant a truly powerful psychic lin' is formed. It is li'e ha%ing li%ed two lifetimes& and instantaneously feeling o%erwhelmed& elated and %ery 8od1li'e. Once the newness of the +lin' sensation+ has subsided& the Mage can then concentrate and will find that their own thoughts can !uic'ly and simply become the thoughts of their target. This is because of the highly focussed energy that is supporting the psychic bridge. This energy& howe%er must come from somewhere. Mages draw their energy from somewhere. Truly& anywhere. The Mage appears to be a slightly different breed when one e(amines their method of energy storage)usage. 2nergy flows through a Mage. @nli'e many casters who store energy and use it at a later time& the Mage uses their stored energy only to initiate a lin'. The Magecraft system runs on the principle of the four elements: 5ire& *ir& 2arth and "ater. * Mage %iews the entire world as ethereally composed of one or more of these elements. 2ach of these elements also go%erns different properties. If a Mage were to attempt a psychic lin'& their stored energy of *ir /intellect0 and "ater /spiritualism0 would be used to open a channel between themself& their target& and to turn themself into ethereal +lightning rods+. The en%ironment then& with each spell casting& continuously feeds a Mage so that energy is not spent on the casting of the spell itself& but rather only in the spells initiation. * lin' between the Mage and the en%ironment is opened with stored energy. The en%ironment then starts flowing through the Mage. The Mage filters the energy into what is wanted

and what is not. The Mage uses the re!uired energy type)s /*ir X "ater& to 'eep with the e(ample0& and lets the energy then flow into its purpose. In this fashion& energy is conser%ed and the spell can continue /as long as the re!uired concentration le%el is maintained0. "arning: Be sure to learn your limits9 "hen you are getting tired& stop the spell9 Because the energy will ne%er stop flowing through a Mage until it is willed to do so& many Mages in ure themsel%es by continuing a spell until they can no longer maintain precise concentration and collapse to the floor with e(haustion and suffer from an ethereal bac'lash. :ou ha%e been warned. Be careful. The last thing a Mage does is Temporal Magic. Temporal Magic is also 'nown as +,uperficial ,pellcasting+. *s the name and nic'name imply& these spells ha%e no lasting effect& but rather are used for dramatic results o%er a highly limited time span. These types of spells include: Teleporting /not a strong Mage s'ill0& elemental spells& Mage enchantments& curses& effect spells /such as casting wea'ness& sleep& clumsiness& etc.0 and a few more. The way this is done& is that the Mage uses their body as a magical battery. 2nergy is %ery !uic'ly stored at ultra1high speeds& and then ettisoned into a spell. This is !uite draining on the mind and body of the Mage& and therefore can be done a finite amount of times in one day& but is a useful s'ill nonetheless. ,ometimes& in certain circles& the energy here listed as +Temporal Magic+ is called +Psionic 2nergy+. 2ither way& the idea is the same: .igh amounts of energy used in large burst !uantities to create short1li%ed& dramatic& magical changes. Magecraft is a powerful art but& abo%e all other caster types& re!uires a great deal of mental control and concentration. The ne(t page represents some of the finer points of this art& and some of the minute details of Magecraft.

The Powers of $eath and $ecay +The 5irst Aule of 4ecromancy is to throw away your paperbac' 4ecronomicon9+ 11 +Tome'eeper+ Master 4ecromancer of the .all of Legions. This page is dedicated to my fa%ourite and most used of the arts& 4ecromancy. 4ecromantics is the intimate use of life and death energies to the ad%antage of the 4ecromancer. Though at first appearance& the name implys the strict and e(plicit ues of the powers of death alone& it does& in a bi7arre and twisted way& also in%ol%e the manipulation of life forces. 5irst& I-d li'e to e(plain my !uote. It-s !uite probable that if you are interested in 4ecromancy that at one point or another& you ha%e either read& or bought /or both0 the 4ecronomicon. "ell& I-m sorry to disappoint those of you that ha%e or had it& but it isn-t worth the paper it-s printed on. :ou can not buy ancient powers& mighty gods& 4ecromantic powers and legitimate spells to go along with it for Y=C 3anadian. ,orry& but no. The truth of the matter is that .. P. Lo%ecraft is a fiction writer. .is story about the origin& purpose& and disco%ery of the 4ecronomicon is totally fa'e& as is the content of his boo'. It is nothing more than a semi1intelligently wraught mish1mash of facts that he has attempted to correlate into a cohesi%e tome. $on-t belie%e it& don-t buy it& and don-t thin' it-s worth e%en 'eeping. Let the neophytes and those that are easily fooled 'eep T.*T boo'. There is no such thing& anywhere or in any art& as +The Big Boo' of Magic ,pells+ that you can simply pic' up and become a =C minute magician. The closest thing to an +Instant Magical 5i(+ is the Keys of ,olomon series for 3on urers. Magic is a difficult ability to obtain and maintain. ,ome people are naturally gifted at magic& but e%en they ha%e to practice often or else ris' losing their ability. I am among the gifted& but I do not slac' off at all in practice as a result. 2ach prospecti%e magician& to be a Master& must diligently see' out their art through trial& study and tribulation. 3oles Boo'store does not now& nor will they e%er& ha%e a Y=C solution. .ere is an informati%e lin' on the 4ecronomicon-s .istory. It is assumed you ha%e already read and applied the te(ts presented in +Beginning Occult Magic+ and +Branching *rts+& bac' at the main page. If not& use the lin' at the bottom of this page to go bac'& or use the Bac' button on your browser. *s a 4ecromancer& you will find yourself in a precarious position. :ou ha%e& of course& been practising 4ecromancy for a while before %isiting a page about ad%anced techni!ues& so you would ha%e noticed by now that wor'ing so close to death does some rather nasty things to you /being a li%ing entity0. This is because though you are protected& as a 4ecromancer& you are still not immune. The real dilemma that most people find is that their own bodies come to resemble the %ery forces they con ure. 4ecromancers tend to become %ery fragile in body and in appearance6 their s'in bleaches white& their chee's go sallow and their hands become twisted and bony. Their gaunt and

s'eletal appearance e%entually progresses to the point that healthy indi%iduals %iew them as rather frightening or anore(ic. This is what the magician reaps as a side1effect of 4ecromancy. ,o& one of the goals that must be achie%ed by e%ery 4ecromancer is the ability to try to a%oid dying from practising their magics. This is done by using a modified form of the energy channelling lessons laid out in Beginning Occult Magic. The way you were instructed to channel energy in Beginning Occult Magic& was to breathe in the surrounding energies and focus them towards a purpose. 4ow& let-s e(pand on that idea. * fire magician will not breathe in water energy& nor a water magician fire. 3on%ersely& a 4ecromancer will not be using the li%ing /or 4atural0 forces around them& but rather will start off with using the powers of death. "hen a li%ing thing dies& its essence remains on things it has touched or associated with during life. It is li'e a personality fingerprint that is left for those that are sensiti%e to them. :ou also& as a 4ecromancer& gi%e off these pulses& but your essence is the essence of death. Instead of using an internal source of life& that being your health& to initate operations of 4ecromancy& use the death essence that e(udes from your presence. $eath forces will simply eat up the life forces used in an operation /although it wor's ust as well0& but death energies will initiate and also strengthen the operation at no cost to you. * great place to regenerate this ability to pulse out death energies& if you are low on power& is in a cemetary. Eust wal' around for a while& %iewing the %estiments of death and the faces of the other people. :ou don-t ha%e to hide in there& meditate& or see' out bodies& but rather ust be present. The effect this has on you& as a 4ecromancer& is that it +re1aligns+ your nature to properly and consistently e(ude the +death aura+. If you become magically impotent& it helps to get your bearings by ha%ing a !uiet time in the cemetary /howe%er twisted or beautiful that sounds0. It performs much the same function as prayer to a 3hristian. 3hristians pray& and feel energi7ed and +in tune+ with 8od again. 4ecromancers can ha%e their time of solemnity and solitude and come away with new focus& and sharper concentration. It ta'es away the cares of the world and also regenerates your magical power. ,pea'ing of magical power& let-s ta'e a moment to discuss the usage of rings& amulets& talismans& enchanted de%ices)clothing& etc. In my opinion /feel free to disagree if you wish0& the whole pile of rings and things are a waste of money. *s I ha%e found& these %estiments of 4ecromancy do nothing more than bolster the ego. They may be useful for struggling beginners to feel that they ha%e power through the ob ect& but in actuality& one must realise that all these powers are channelled through your own s'ill& not because of a piece of stone& wood or metal. * struggling 4ecromancer who 'nows no better may actually be impro%ed by the use of 4ecromantic %estiments& but this is only because the beginner belie%es it will help. Personally& I don-t wear a nec'lace& or ring& or amulet or any sort. I 'now that my power is ust as great e%en without these things. If you see someone who is ha%ing trouble with the art of 4ecromancy& gi%e them a 4ecromantic ring. They-ll en oy it& and it will +gi%e them power+. *fter serious study /supposing they are studying to impro%e their art and not ust loo'ing for !uic' and fun magic results0& they will realise that e(tras are not important and will ta'e the ring off.

4ow we come to the techni!ue and abilities of a 4ecromancer. This will ta'e a while /roughly a lifetime0 to understand. Power& as a 4ecromancer has& is not limited to a certain set of spells and abilities. 4ecromancers& much li'e Mages& are %ery %ersatile in their abilities. *nything related to death& shadow& dar'ness& and the undead is within the grasp of the 4ecromancer. * 4ecromancer may use their power in any way the imagination can comprehend& the mind can understand and the power can support. Aemember& 4ecromancers: This is not a %ideo game. :ou are not stuc' with a finite amount of spells. Eust as a "hite Magician creates +pure+ areas to wor' in& the Mage creates +4odes+& and the 2nchanter has a +Aitual *rea+& so the 4ecromancer can construct an ethereal space of heightened power. These& sadly enough& are %ery easy to find. *s a 4ecromancer progresses through the ran's they will find that as they approach the height of their own personal power& that their %ery surroundings will become decayed and ghastly in appearance. This is because the $eath 2ssence that a 4ecromancer e(udes will permeate their surroundings. Because e%ery operation a 4ecromancer attempts is based in the use of $eath 2ssence and the molding thereof& the necrotic aspects of $eath 2ssence tends to lea' out into the surrounding area. *s an e(ample of casting a 4ecromantic spell& such as to see far away& one would use $eath 2ssence. The 4ecromancer is a secluded sort who is usually unable to consort effecti%ely with other magic types& due to the %ampiric and parasitic nature of 4ecromancy. *s a 4ecromancer& a good idea would be to see' out other magicians and use the infamous $raining Touch to ta'e their life force and energy from them. This can then be channelled into miscellaneous spells and wor's of 4ecromancy. 4ow& for all of this information& you should 'now that this co%ers what is called& +Lesser 4ecromancy+. Lesser 4ecromancy is not as e(treme as 8reater 4ecromancy& but usually ust as powerful. To complete the 'nowledge of a Master 4ecromancer /O4L: once you ha%e mastered Lesser 4ecromancy90 you can mo%e on to the last page: 8reater 4ecromancy.

The 5inal 3hapter: 5rom 5lames and 5rost 4ow we get to the truly ad%anced parts of 4ecromancy. This is the le%el that ZZD of 4ecromancers ne%er attain /especially ali%e0. Initially you ha%e found and been taught that the $eath 2ssence is the power of 4ecromancy. This is true& for Lesser 4ecromancy. *s a warning: Lesser 4ecromancy is more than sufficient for almost e%ery need. * competent Lesser 4ecromancer will be hard pressed to e%er find a foe so powerful that they must resort to 8reater 4ecromancy. 8reater 4ecromancy need only be used in the most e(treme situations9 This is the o%erwhelming power of 8reater 4ecromancy: The Two ,pheres. The two spheres are 5ire and Ice& or what I call .ell and ,ty(. .ell& than's to 3hristianity& is well 'nown to most people. It is the place where e%il creatures& souls and spirits are confined to a burning inferno. Blac' la%a roc'& la%a& demons& acidic and burning rain& ashes& fire& chains& torture& disfigurement and unspea'able pain are all components of that place. This is where the most %ile of the 5ire sphere are 'ept. "hen a 4ecromancer wishes to draw the most powerful ser%ient entity they can muster& it is from .ell they come. .ell is the abode of already capti%e and tortured creatures& so all the 4ecromancer must do is promise a brief time of rela(ation from the pain in e(change for ser%ices. *lmost e%ery being will gladly ta'e such a trade in an instant. To do this& the 4ecromancer must use ether from ,ty( to cool the aura of the spirit and 'eep them bound to earth. 5rom .ell& a 4ecromancer can call Minor $emons& 8reater $emons /though not ,atan or *rchdemons0& 5ire "raiths /!uite a sight0& 5ire ,'eletons and .ell Imps. This is an e(hausti%e list /as far as I can tell0. The accessible content of .ell changes all the time though& so the a%ailability of these creatures may fluctuate slightly. It is also the ether of .ell that allows a %ery s'illed caster in 8reater 4ecromancy to cast %ery un14ecromantic spells such as 5ire Blast. Be careful when using .ell-s fury though. 2%en though most creatures are willing to be ser%ants for the price of temporary freedom& some of them will try to tric' a 4ecromancer into ma'ing deals that are unbalanced and cost dearly. ,ty( is the second of the spheres. It is where the most powerful of 4ecromantic creatures lie. @nli'e .ell& howe%er& the creatures of ,ty( are not always ser%ient. ,ty( is the abode of $eath himself. It is a cold place of silence& grief& mental pain and loss. It is the place of whispers& chill& cold swamps& dead trees& barren ground& cloudy s'ies& and ominous nothing. 5rom here& 4ecromancers draws the most powerful entities a%ailable to them /not e(cluding $eath0. 3reatures such as @ndead ,er%itors& "raiths& ,pectres& 8eists& ,hadows& $eath ,teeds& 8rim Aeapers /there are many of them0 and $eath himself are a%ailable with enough coa(ing and s'ill. The creatures of ,ty( ha%e a desire& much li'e the creatures of .ell: They want to li%e again. "hereas .ell is full of sensation /albeit

painful0& ,ty( is gre%iously lac'ing of sensation. The creatures of ,ty( want to be on earth again simply to be able to feel& and to interact with their en%iroment. This is the bargaining tool of the 4ecromancer in this case. @sing .ell-s ether& a ,tygian creature can be bound to earth to perform the 4ecromancer-s will. 4ow I-d li'e to a%oid confusion about binding .ell or ,ty( creatures to earth6 :ou do not always need to use ether from the opposite sphere to bind a creature to earth& though I ha%e found that the method usually wor's. In this case& as in most things in the world& there are always e(ceptions to the rules. If one was to call $eath& for instance& using .ell essence would be %ery bad. $eath must remain in his own element& and therefore should be +bound+ using only $eath 2ssence or ,ty( power. The same goes for calling Aeapers /or some types of ,teeds0. They are totally ,tygian and therefore cannot be bound using .ell power. By the time a 4ecromancer reaches this le%el& being able to tell how to summon a creature will be second nature instead of a mystery /as it may seem now to some readers0. *s a last piece of ad%ice on 8reater 4ecromancy: .ell and ,ty(& though choc' full of standard creatures& occasionally surprise me and spontaneously ma'e bi7arre creatures a%ailable for summoning. ,ometimes& these creatures do not e%en seem li'e they belong in that particular sphere& but they appear nonetheless. Ta'e ad%antage of these bi7arre !uir's& since they come along infre!uently. 4ow& with the dispensing of this 'nowledge& I call to a close the realm of 4ecromancy6 the art of 4ecromancy has been co%ered to the fullest e(tent possible /without re%ealing anything that one must learn of their own accord0. 5irst& learning Lesser 4ecromancy and then learning 8reater 4ecromancy& one has %ery little true opposition. 3all the 7ombies& ghouls& wraiths& imps& ser%itors& demons and s'eletons to sing their cacophony if e%er you totally master 8reater 4ecromancy6 On that day the world will end& I-m sure...

$eities and the 3osmos ,atanism as a magical or religious art focusses primarily on one !"hy are we here# This site being about magic& not religion /though it does occasionally impose itself into the magical framewor'& and mostlyso in the art of ,atanic magic0& I will ignore the %arious religious ansand mo%e straight to the magical philosophy behind that !uestion. Pop culture indicates one of two answers to the reason of our e(istence: ; B<. "e are solely for the purpose of worshipping 8od the 3reator& or some grand entity thereli'e& and to base our e(istence around pleasing this cosmic entity by following rules of conduct and morality. ; B=. "e are here because of a big e(plosion which was followed by gradient e%olution& relying on a chemical soup of un'nown composition and mere chance to cause se!uence after se!uence of minor change o%er a span of millions of years to produce e%erything now seen. Therefore the supernatural is either non1e(istant& or doesn-t play a part in life. * ,atanist once told me that this only presents two options: Poof or Bang /respecti%ely0. To a ,atanic Magician& both of these options are unusable. If the first is true& then we are here only for worship to an omnipotent entity who shows no physical manifestation on earth. The ,atanist poses the !uestion +"hy doesn-t 8od spea' with a thunderous %oice any more# "hy& if .e e(ists& does .e not pro%e .is e(istence anymore with loud speeches and fire from .ea%en# "here is the concrete& easily found and undeniable proof#+ The second option is unusable as well. If random energy were to cause order in the uni%erse& why does entropy e(ist# The Laws of Thermodynamics /and particularly entropy0 prohibit the possibility of the theory of e%olution from being true /cf. *A4.org0& as is becoming more and more apparent in scientific circles /especially in the different sub1disciplines of physics0. ,o& now ha%ing discluded the two ma or %iews of origin& one wonders where the ,atanist stands on this sub ect. The answer is +in the centre of e%erything+. ,atanic magic is focussed on the worship and building up of your own soul as a deity. 2%ery person& in the ,atanic %iew& is a god unto themsel%es and an eternal being of e!ual potential power to that of any e(isting entity. "ith a philosophy li'e this one would& of course& wish themself to be the highest entity in the uni%erse. This has its complications though. Being all powerful& most people would not wish to be bound by the rules that 8od is. 8od is bound to be good at all times6 in thought& action& word and deed& 8od must be pure. Most people do not wish to be bound in such a way and therefore must see' a medium that will allow them to act in any way they choose. *nother main consideration& howe%er& is that the magician wishes to ma'e use of an entity which is powerful yet allows free e(pression. The ob%ious choice that blends these two components 11 power and self1 gratification 11 is ,atan.

,atanic Magicians are not bound by the moral rules or laws that typical magicians must adhere to. Their magical methods include only spells which bring satisfaction to themself through the use of infernal and ,atanic powers. *ccording to The ,atanic Bible /I can not pro%ide a lin' to it& since it-s a copyrighted wor' that can not legally be reproduced without gi%ing royalties& etc.0& in the boo' of Le%iathan& 3hapter >& it states that there are three types of spells a%ailable to ,atanic casters: Baphomet ; ,pells of 3ompassion ; ,pells of $estruction ; ,pells of Lust *s is common to form& each will be discussed in turn. ,pells of 3ompassion may seem to be a contradictory concept& gi%en that the ,atanic magics are focussed on the caster as beneficiary but& in actuality& it is !uite feasible that the caster can recei%e pleasure from the oy of another. "hen casting spells of compassion& as with other types of spells in the ,atanic realm& one must be entirely sure that they could be perfectly satisfied with the results. * wonderful briefing on the topic of definiti%e spell1casting is a boo' by *leister 3rowley called Magic' without Tears. The concept of casting magic without any remorse can be condensed into one e(ample: If you were& for e(ample& to cast a spell to ma'e your ailing friend well again& would you be perfectly happy if they were bac' to full health in a couple days# This depends on a few factors. $o you li'e your friend that much# Is he)she a nice person# Is their presence better than their absence# Things of that nature must fully be ta'en into account so that e%ery spell is picture perfect. The second type of spell is a ,pell of $estruction. Once again& e(actly li'e the considerations necessary for a ,pell of 3ompassion& the idea of +$o you really want your spell to wor'#+ /i.e. Magic without tears0 must be ta'en into account. Often& the destruction of one in%ol%es the destruction of many. If& for e(ample& you hate your boss so much that you want to cast a destruction spell on them& ta'e the time to consider that part of your boss- destruction might in%ol%e the ban'ruptcy of his)her company which& being your boss& would also be WyourW company. *lso& be sure that a spell of this power is ne%er used as a o'e. :ou must be totally& entirely& <CCD certain that you wish the absolute obliteration of your target. 4o + ust hurt& don-t 'ill+ mentalities. The ultimate end of a spell of destruction is the death of the target. The last type of spell is a ,pell of Lust. These spells are %ery peculiar& in that lust is not a naughty concept for the ,atanic magician. On the contrary& using se( merely for pleasure and the ac!uisition of power is !uite common. * real& dedicated ,atanist),atanic magician is not concerned about the moral trappings of ha%ing se( and is !uite free with the sharing and use of their body for such a purpose. *fter all& chastity and morality are 3hristian %irtues& not a ,atanic ones. Though ,atanism the religion does not conscribe to

the wild orgies commonly attributed to it through the media& ,atanic magic does. "hen a lust spell is cast& as per The ,atanic Bible& the ,atanic magician does more than perform the act itself6 energy is also absorbed. ,e( rituals comprise a large amount of the power base for the ,atanic magician because of the large amount of energy e(pended in both members during a stimulation)copulation ritual. This energy& instead of being ignored and going to waste& is absorbed by the ,atanic magician and is channelled into a new spell. 5inding a real& dedicated and unashamed ,atanist is rare& a ,atanic Magician e%en more so& and a s'illed ,atanic Magician is a pro%erbial +diamond in the rough+.

Aaw Power and $ar' 2nergies The world of the ,orcerer is one which is wreathed in the mystic fires of the future. .a%ing the same cunning and foresight as a "i7ard& ,orcerers attempt to change their world through a slightly different means. "hile the "i7ard tends towards +good+ magics& and a defensi%e position& the ,orcerer tends to ha%e an affinity for the +e%il+ magics and an aggressi%e mannerism. This does not imply that they are e%il& per se& but it does show that they ha%e a different approach tactic. ,orcerers use the aggressi%e magics because they desire to ta'e a pro1acti%e role in the shaping of their future& or the future of their target. They use things that& by the definition of +"hite+ and +Blac'+ magic which is used in The Library of Knowledge& classify as blac' magics to shape things around them. The idea is similar to the famous analogy used in the magical community concerning psychic warfare: To participate in psychic warfare& one may either attac' all of their enemies& or they may shield themsel%es. Both approaches accomplish the same goal 11 the safety of the magician-s target /e%en if it is themself0. These approaches bear the same differences as "i7ardry and ,orcery. The "i7ard would adamantly defend themself& ne%er becoming too concerned with whoe%er might be wasting their time attac'ing. The ,orcerer& con%ersely& would be the one counter1attac'ing their enemies& ma'ing no effort to adapt themsel%es to the en%iroment& but rather adapting their en%ironment to themsel%es. To this end& it is often useful for the ,orcerer to utili7e an array of s'ills. These s'ills include scrying& enchanting& con uring& and hea%y reliance on the art of Magecraft. ,crying is used to simply predict the future. This is essential component to planning ahead and understanding which spells will need to be performed. The method used by the ,orcerer& from cauldrons to chic'en bones& is entirely based on what they are comfortable using. "ith a basic fore'nowledge of e%ents& the ,orcerer would reflect bac' on their answers to The Three Fuestions of Magic and then e%aluate which method/s0 are necessary to ma'e things wor' in their fa%our. Though perhaps less accurate than a dedicated $i%iner& ,orcerers and "i7ards ha%e the ability to see the appro(imate outcomes of their potential spells. This is a distinct ad%antage that these two caster types ha%e o%er the other types /e(cept for a bona fide $i%iner0. 2nchanting for a ,orcerer& as with any art that shares an ability& has a uni!ue twist added. * great deal of a ,orcerer-s methods of 2nchanting& as you might ha%e guessed& centre around the element of 5ire. 5ire is such a fa%ourite among ,orcerers because of what it represents 11 acti%e manipulation. The more subtle element of *ir& often representing powers of the mind and of more delicate operations& is almost unusable by the ,orcerer due to its opposed nature. "ater& li'ewise& has limited use to a ,orcerer for the same reasons as *ir. 5inally 2arth& while occasionally useful to a ,orcerer& tends to ha%e a slow and e(ceedingly ponderous way about it& thereby rending it a frustrating element to the a%erage ,orcerer.

,orcerers that ma'e hea%y use of con uring are far from rare. This tends to become a ,orcerer-s mainstay power due to its definiti%e simplicity& sheer power& and /relati%e0 predictability. *ll but the most powerful spirits are accessible to a ,orcerer& lea%ing a large choice of lesser demons& Knights& 3ounts& 2arls& Presidents& Mar!uises& and select Prelates for ser%ice. ,ome $u'es)Prelates& and all of the Kings of the $emonic .ierarchies are inaccessible to the ,orcerer& due to a lac' of preparation. 2%en if the ,orcerer could& somehow& prepare themsel%es in the appropriate manner& it would mean gi%ing up ,orcery6 a ,orcerer& according to many of these demons& are +defiled+& being tainted with other magics. Because of using other magics& the higher demons will not respond or& worse yet& will ta'e %engeance on unworthy 3on urers. These higher demons& howe%er& usually ha%e abilities that are still accessible through the use of a number of lesser demons that still are within the power range of a ,orcerer. This sa%ing grace affords the ,orcerer almost all the powers of a full 3on urer without ha%ing to undergo all the same purifications& rituals& and sacrifices necessary6 the only two drawbac's are that it ta'es more time to achie%e the same results& due to ha%ing to con ure multiple demons& and that some of the abilities of the superior demons are truly uni!ue to those demons alone. Lastly& lesser s'ills of Magecraft are used to e(ert the will of a ,orcerer. Aather than adapting and turning their magic inward& the ,orcerer turns their magic outward to create changes around them. The sheer %olume of energy and the gigantic concentrations of power necessary to effect such a mass change sets ,orcery apart from the other arts. Instead of see'ing the refined and highly focussed power of a Mage& the ,orcerer will simply unleash multiple wa%es of energy to accomplish their tas's. Though borrowing from the Magecraft system& this uni!ue use of energy is specific to the ,orcerer-s methods. This uni!ue art 'nown as ,orcery is one which 'nows no bounds and has no limits& e(cept those which are allowed by the user.

The ,pirit of ,erenity *s opposed to the harsh magics of the Blac' Mage /not a true Mage& but rather only etymologically0& the "hite Mage /li'ewise& not a true Mage0 is focussed on only those things which are necessary to protect& heal& and those things which wor' for the greater good of humanity and the indi%iduals therein. The nature of a "hite Mage must be pure& or the magic will not wor'. It stems from the inner being& and the powerful force of lo%e and ustice. There are many deities which are used by "hite magicians that support this cause and the principles of it. It is called +The 8reat "or'+& and is based on a comple( system of ustice and morality which is aided by the use of ad%anced protecti%e magics. The principles of using this ad%anced protection& and the rare circumstances under which a "hite Mage can use +offensi%e+ magics will be described at length. 4ote that this page will co%er only the casting aspects of "hite magic and will %irtually ignore the many religious shells that are placed on this type of casting. 5irst off& one must understand the ritual as is propagated by the study of magic. Magic can be used in any way the caster deems fit. Many casters ha%e different mindsets& and thereby branch into many arts. The mind of the "hite magician is one of peace. * "hite Mage will ne%er see' re%enge& per se& but will simply see' to be left alone by uncouth casters. Being the most non1intrusi%e of magical types& "hite magic is based on the use of defensi%e& healing& and augmentatory spells. The defensi%e aspect is one that ma'es "hite magic so distinct from e%ery other type. The tenet of "hite magic theory that most e(emplifies this is: +It is easier to create one solid defence than to destroy a multiplicity of enemies+ 11 3ommon ,aying. @sing this logic& the "hite Mage practices the use of shielding methods& creating barriers around themself and friends for protection& the creation of protecti%e ser%itors& and many other methods that pre%ent the +bad energies+ of other magicians or a hostile en%ironment from altering their course or magical alignment)attunement. In persuit of this goal& "hite Mages /chiefly& among all casters0 creates nodes of power where no other magical energy can interfere. *nother s'ill of the "hite Mage is the ability to perform minor healings. 4ow& of course& these healings are not nearly of the same caliber as a .ealer& but they are nonetheless effecti%e. Much li'e a Blac' Mage borrows from 4ecromancy& so does a "hite Mage from .ealing. The purity of the nodal en%ironments made by a "hite Mage allows them to sufficiently amplify their power enough to perform spells which are slightly out of their category. One method used by "hite magicians is a "icca techni!ue called +The 3one of Power+. $etails of this procedure can be found at many different web sites and should not be too hard to hunt down /I-ll pro%ide a lin' if someone ta'es the time to point a good one out to me0.

The last landmar' ability of a "hite Mage is the ability to help those around them. * "hite Mage is dedicated to helping humanity and ensuring that people around them are benefitted by their presence. More often than not& they use their uni!ue powers of prayer and blessing to increase the success& happiness& or general well1being of those around them. The "hite Mage can create nodes of blessing in another person-s home to bring them good luc'& can bless their ob ects and ma'e them somewhat enchanted in that way& and a host of other blessings that can impro%e the life of themself or someone else. The final aspect of "hite magic that should be mentioned is the fact that "hite magicians& though primarily defensi%e casters& do ha%e %ery rare moments when they are allowed to use +offensi%e+ spells. These are not offensi%e spells of the same class as Blac' Mages& ob%iously& but rather forms of magic that halt an attac' from its source. This sort of spell would be one of the rare occassions when a "hite magician is strong enough to cast a Mute spell on the powers of an aggressi%e and persistent magical attac'er. "hile being offensi%e and ta'ing proacti%e measures to halt another-s spell& no damage is done to the target. This is the acceptable use of +offensi%e+ magic by a "hite Mage. It 'eeps the purity of "hite magic while halting a problem at the source.

The 3hallenge of Mind +"i7ardry is the type of magic that is intellectually based& drawing on elements not identifiable by modern science& to perform %arious magical effects.+ 11[3erberus\ Master "i7ard of the .all of Legions ,o& you ha%e an interest in "i7ardry& eh# Before we get into the real essence of "i7ardry& let me ma'e sure that you understand what it is all about. "i7ardry is more focused on magic as science as opposed to magic as religion. "i7ardry is based around logic more than faith. To ha%e this e(plained further& please read on. "i7ardry basically has three rules that can !uantify how to ma'e spells and magic wor' for you. I shall tell the rule& and then e(plain it. <. One cannot learn and focus on the parts of magic& but forget the whole. 2asy to understand& right# If you ha%e a car and you wash the car e%eryday but ignore the rest of it& do you thin' it will last fore%er& or ha%e the same performance as the day you bought it# $onSt thin' so. ,o to paraphrase& do not learn the basics of magic& forget them& and then ump off and cast spells all the time. Meditate& do spell research& and collect spell components yourself. "or' on all the parts of magic and see them as a collecti%e. The basics of magic are what helps you to fully understand why magic wor's. The second rule of magic is somewhat an e(tension of the first. =. The magic comes from 'nowledge of the principles of its use& and in the userSs 'nowing of how magic affects the en%ironment. This one is a little confusing. Magic wor's because the spellcaster 'nows how magic wor's. It is not as simple as flipping a light switch and not e(pecting a light to come on. Ignorance of magic combined with the performing of magic will get you nothing. In 'nowing how magic affects the en%ironment you come to understand the why of how spells function. Magic rarely cooperates with physical laws. Magic bends a lot of physical laws& and occasionally brea's them. The final law of magic is probably the simplest. >. Magic comes from the combined effort of your heart and mind. ,imple. To ma'e a spell wor' you must ha%e the spell completely in your mind& casting it in your head as you are casting it in the physical world. :ou must K4O" the spell in your mind. Inside out& bac'wards& forwards& etc. The other half comes from the heart. The magic has to flow from your heart into e%ery part of your body& and then into your mind for any spell to wor'. To paraphrase& you must 'now in your heart that the spell will wor'. 4ot

belie%e& K4O". Only when you are fully in control of both your thoughts and your heart will the magic wor' for you. These three rules constitute the core of "i7ardry. *nother thing that is significant to "i7ardry is 'nowledge. Knowledge is what ma'es a wi7ard do what he does. .e operates outside of the accepted norm of society. 5or 'nowledge& he %entures into places that e%en the bra%est men would run from. *lways remember that 'nowledge and wisdom is power. Knowledge holds the uni%erse together. Knowledge gi%es the wi7ard purpose in an uncertain world. "hen you are depressed and the uncertainty of the world brings you down& remember that the magic and 'nowledge are what gi%es your life purpose. 4ow that we ha%e you up to date on the Philosophy of "i7ardry& let us discuss the technical side of the *rt. * "i7ardSs spells are based around logic. This is not to say that spells and magic are [loc'ed\ into a rigid framewor' that cannot be changed. 5or e(ample& if I research a spell that protects me from e%il and another wi7ard researches a spell that protects him from e%il6 the methods of spell research& the means by which he casts the spell& and e%en the material component will be radically different& e%en though the end result of his casting and my casting will be the same. "hat this means is that spells are as indi%idualistic and creati%e as the wi7ard who researches them. :es& I said research. "i7ardry is best used by those who are academically minded. This is not to say that if hate studying and reading and writing that you will not e(cel at "i7ardry. But your wal' down this magical path will be difficult. But that is true of almost e%erything. :ou get out of "i7ardry what you put into it. But the effort you put into being a wi7ard is worth it. The saying ["hat would you do if you had the power#\ ta'es on a %ery personal and significant meaning when applied to "i7ardry. But this power comes with great responsibility. 4ow ISm going to gi%e you a few final bits of ad%ice to help you through the initial difficulties that most wi7ards face until they actually use their brains and learn when to cast spells. 5irst& and foremost& spells and magic are no substitute for your brain. This destroys a lot of peopleSs desires to wor' magic. They thin' that ha%ing a few feeble spells ma'es them the smartest fol' in the uni%erse. But& lo& when they find out that their magic is wea' compared to the magic of the wise& they gi%e up and say that it is all 8ree' to them. But remember that this is not so. .e who thin's with his mind 'nows when to cast spells and when not to. :ou decide which option is what for you. ,econdly& if there is an easier /and sometimes& less e(pensi%e0 way to accomplish something without using magic& do it. There is no rule of "i7ardry that says what can be done with magic canSt be done with elbow grease. It is ust a !uestion of casting spells when you ha%e to& not because you can.

Lastly& earn as much magical 'nowledge as you possibly can. But do not be stringent with it. This gets a lot of wi7ards angry. They belie%e that the purpose of magical 'nowledge is to be hoarded in towers and chests to rot away to dust long after they ha%e passed into the gra%e. Aemember& that by sharing 'nowledge& you get 'nowledge. But on the other side of the coin& always ha%e half a do7en tric's up your slee%e. But the best ad%ice that I can offer is that you must always remember that in your pursuit of 'nowledge there will be others who will attempt to e(ploit that pursuit. Aemember that you e(ist strictly for this pursuit. Interpret all threats to this pursuit of 'nowledge as threats to your pursuit of LI52. $eal with these threats as best you see fit& but deal with them. They will not go away if you ignore them. 5inally& you now understand the path of "i7ardry. But the only 'nowledge of "i7ardry that is most significant is the 'nowledge that you collect and earn yourself. Ta'e my ad%ice to heart and mind& and you shall 'now power beyond your wildest imagination. But remember& that power without responsibility is short li%ed. Aesponsibility is the best magical 'nowledge you can learn.
