Since then several new requirements have been added, such as the losses arising in stray magnetic field, resonance phenomena due to oscillating switcting over- voltages, the survey of mechanical design, the review of main accessories, ct. By arranging for publication of this English edition, Elsevier Science Publishers and ‘Akadémiai Kiadé have made it possible for us to include these requirements in the text In particular, we appreciate their understanding of the problers related to the inclusion of the latest R&D results in transformer engineering.
