He will be touching on Shell's efforts in advancing carbon capture and storage (CCS) around the world. CCS is currently the only technology available to mitigate large-scale fossil fuel emissions. He will also share some scenarios that Shell has developed to examine the impacts of changes in the energy markets, global economic environment, geopolitics, and resource stresses such as water and greenhouse gases. From 2010 to 2012 he served as the Minister of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change. In an event organised in collaboration with the LSE SU Conservative Society, Charles Hendry will be speaking on the topic of off-shore gas and wind. More details to follow! Global Energy Conference 2014: Energy Transitions, 11th - 12th March 2014 It's already the world's largest student energy conference, but this year it will be even bigger! Panels will cover EU shale has development, the future of nuclear energy, renewable energy solutions in developing countries, and more. The winners will be announced at the 2014 Global Energy Conference and will be included in the publication of the 2014 LSE Energy Society Journal.
