The Marx Layne Scholarship in Communication

Michael Layne, a graduate of Wayne State University and President of Marx Layne Marketing, Public Relations and Digital Media, believes in supporting scholastic achievement and encouraging continued progress by assisting students in financing their education at Wayne State University. The Marx Layne Scholarship in Communication is an award given to one student who possesses a passion to learn, is committed to excellence, and who may need financial assistance in order to achieve his or her goals. The recipient will be awarded a $1,500.00 monetary award (to be used toward tuition only).

Criteria:
Eligible students must have a 2.8 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Although it is not a requirement, preference will be given to applicants who have declared public relations as a major. Applications for the Marx Layne Scholarship in Communication must be received no later than Monday, March 17, 2014. The scholarship will be presented to recipient at the 2014 Alumni and Student Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. The recipient of this award must be able to attend the awards luncheon. The award committee may contact applicants for a personal interview.

A current resume A current unofficial WSU transcript A two-page essay indicating why you feel you are a strong candidate for this award One letter of reference (excluding Dr. Najor)

Submit all required materials in one complete package to Vicki Dallas in the Department of Communication, 585 Manoogian Hall.
