CO N C L U S I O N Ohms law states that voltage is directly proportional to current, provided that the temperature remains constant.

The straight line graph that could be drawn from the data 1 showed the mathematical relationship V = that exists between potential difference and current. Therefore Ohms law was verified. Overall, the decade box and carbon resistor part of this lab demonstrated the relationship outlined by Ohms Law and fostered a higher comprehension of the mechanisms driving circuit behavior. In figure 2 and figure 3 shows that the decade box and carbon resistor follows the Ohms law because the graph is linear. Although the decade box obeys Ohms law the percent error was 20.1 %, the data is reasonable so a error could have been the fact that the group members were still getting warmed up as far as working with the decade box. The carbon resistor percent error was 0.57%, the total opposite of the decade box. The theoretical resistance of the carbon resistance was 0.557. the slope of the carbon resistor was The direct relationships between voltage, current, and resistance allows measurement of the voltage and current without resistance being known. Additionally, the ability to manipulate voltage allowed the experiment to contain a sense of systematic collection of data to provide a contextual experimental example of the relationships in Ohms law. Moreover, the experiment also demonstrated how the different configurations of resistors, parallel or in a series could play a role in the behavior of the circuit and its components. In conclusion, this lab effectively helped grant a higher understanding of how circuits are governed by Ohms law. Ohms law is only valid as long as the temperature of the circuit remains constant. Resistance means friction, which causes heat, particularly with a resistor with such a low resistance as 10. There was a high current travelling through the resistor, so there would have been some temperature increase with each voltage interval that was tested. As a straight-line graph was obtained from the data, no significant increase in temperature was noticeable otherwise the graph would have been curved. Each of the meters also carried a percentage error of half a scale division. Resistors come with a percentage tolerance value. The 10 resistor that was used in the experiment had a 5% tolerance value. This means that it could have deviated 0.5 from the 10 it claimed to be. However, the light bulb does not follow Ohms law. Figure 4 shows a curve although the trendline is linear. Just like seen with the light bulb how it was clamped on both sides and as the numbers increased on the power supply the light bulb finally was lit and got brighter. The linear correlation was 0.95307.
