The Opportunity
We are seeking one (or two) enthusiastic students to undertake research in spatial databases, mobile and pervasive computing, computational geometry and/or uncertain databases. The successful candidate(s) will most likely work on problems related to locationbased services (LBS). LBS are becoming increasingly popular due to exponentially increased usage of smartphones and cheap wireless network. The project aims to provide effective and efficient techniques to solve the most representative location-based queries. An academic track record in spatial databases or computational geometry would be highly advantageous. Prospective international applicants should note that the scholarship does not cover foreign-student tuition fees. Candidates will be required to meet Monash entry requirements which include English-language skills.

Remuneration We offer a scholarship paid at the same rate as Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA). The current value of an APA is $25,392 per annum full-time rate (tax-free stipend).
