YES!
Hydro energy is renewable because it gives electricity 24\7 and it doesnt give any carbon footprint. NO! Nuclear Energy is not renewable because the atoms end.

Harnessed or Extracted
Hydro Power is harnessed. Water is gathered in a reservoir. A reservoir is a place for water to get gathered. The water gets turned into electricity. Nuclear Energy is harnessed by the atoms connecting and making heat this heat turns into electricity.

Amount of Energy Produced

Hydro Power gives a lot of energy!!!!! Hydro Power gives 25MW. 1MW is 1,000,000 watts. That a lot of watts. Nuclear energy produces more energy than Hydro Power. Nuclear Energy gives 11.8 BILLION Kilowatts per hour.

Place of Origin
Hydro Power is mainly used in the United States and Canada. 40% of electricity comes from Hydro Power in the United States. Nuclear Energy is mainly used in Japan and France. 60% of electricity comes from nuclear power in Japan and France. Nuclear power is there in Japan and France because there are no other source of energy there.

PROS
Hydropower produces no pollution. Hydro power gives lower electric bill. Hydro power is the cheapest way of getting electricity. Hydro power is renewable. Nuclear energy generates a lot of energy. It also doesnt pollute. It gives clean air. The water that spins the turbine is renewable.

CONS
Dams take a lot of space and a lot of money. Damming rivers may destroy or disrupt wildlife national resources. Dams also hurt fish population. When there is drought hydro power cant produce that much electricity than it does. Nuclear energy is dangerous. Nuclear energy can kill people. Nuclear energy can cause cancer and other diseases. It is not renewable. Nuclear energy takes a lot of space to get built.

How does it work

Hydro power generates electricity in a Dam. A reservoir, where the water is gathered, the water goes through a penstock that goes to a turbine. The turbine spins and turns on the generator. The electricity goes through a generator, then the power cable and into our houses. To atoms connect it creates heat which heats the water and the water spins the turbine and then the generator generates electricity. The water goes to the cooling tower which cools the water down and it is reused.

How useful is it.

Hydropower is very useful because 1. It kind of easy to research. 2. The electricity is cheap. 3. It gives electricity 24 hours a day. 4. It is renewable. Nuclear energy is useful that it produces a lot of electricity and it is renewable. Because the water is renewable.

Hydro power can affect the animal habitat. It takes a lot of space. It can also disrupt the flow of river. Nuclear energy affects the world by radiation is when it hurts people and animals

I think Hydro power is the best source of energy because gives a lot of energy. It also gives less electric bill. Electricity can be produced 24/7. it is also good for some areas because the river is the reservoir and thats where the dam can be built. I think nuclear energy is good because e it produces electricity 11.8 billion watts per hour. It is not polluting the earth. I think it is also bad because it can cause cancer and other diseases. It also can kill people.
