Teaching practice 1 Introduction

The portfolio is a series of documents that help teachers to document their skills and achievements, to challenge students to create their best work, and to help students to reflect on what they have accomplished, during their learning procces, also what teachers want to achieve within their goals, whether they are long or short. Creating a teaching portfolio will be a wonderful way for me to reflect on what level I have taught , the method that I will use is very importan on the area that I will work. This will allow me to think critically about how to improve the way of teaching in a better way. A teaching portfolio is used to represent your teaching philosophy which is focused in each person teaching style, what is the method , methodology, strategies, and techniques. Besides that it shows the originality of each teacher. It makes the teacher to reflect on the way he teaches, whether they are doing good or what is going wrong, but with the time , it can help them to improve the teaching portfolio, example :being more selective in the information that will be used. For this research I am going to divide in seven parts, that are going to be reflected in questions. 1. What is a teaching portfolio? 2. Self-evaluation and reflection? 3. Why do I need a teaching portfolio? 4. How should I structure my teaching portfolio? 5. Teaching responsibilities. 6. Statement of teaching philosophy? 7. Teaching, method , strategy, objectives.
I am going to explain one by one in order to have clear each one of those question, which are very important.

Begin your portfolio with a brief description of your teaching roles and responsibilities and other non-classroom teaching activities. 2. Self-Evaluation and reflection? The self-evaluation will help teachers in their own profesional and personal develpments , also it will help to be a confident teacher.for example: when teachers feel , they are loosing the attention and motivation of their students, they need to make thier own sef-evaluation or have a plan b, in order to have the students attention and Self-reflection means what we must regulary examine , what have been going right in the classroom while classes were given, what were the mistakes that we had done , and then we start thinking, how will be a good way to improve all the wrong things or what are the problems that we need to solve, but also there are a good question that we can ask ourselves which is ,what was my success? . If we dont reflect we are going to become in teacher that drably presents the same ineffective and outdated lessons year after year.

3. Why do i need a teaching portfolio?

Teaching practice 3 Beacuse it is a useful tool that can help teachers to reflect about their teaching philosophy, method and approaches that they are using, in addition in that way teacher can identify areas for improving, this can promote tecahers in a cademic position. One benefit is a way to provide more information than a resume, because it gives more details and evidence about teacher professional life. A teaching portfolio is a way of promoting a teacher , also it tells a story about you, who you are, how you teach, what you teach, it shows your profesional growth as a

Teaching responsabilities There are some responsabilities that teacher have to take into account: treat students with respect, and teach them to treat their classmate and others with respect too. teachers have to help students to improve education for their future, because they need to know or have knowledge about diversity of things, in this way students when they have to face some situation, it is not going to be hard to understand. Teachers have to encourage students to aks what they do not understand in the class, in order to make the topic clear, also the teacher have to identify the needs and problems such as: emotional, intelectual, physical, beacuse maybe those problems could be affecting students learning, and try to help them. Engage the students attention with dynamic classes ,game or groupwork. 7. Teaching , methodology, strategy, objectives.

Im going to introduce in the way that, I will be working in my teaching practice the method that I will develop are community language learning and direct method , I will be focus in communication, get the students to speak English language. The approach will be communicative approach, I will use different methods and

strategies in order to develop my classes in a better way, the methodology used on the class would be based on the approach I would use to help the students to get communication in the language on target. Community Language Learning (CLL) was primarily designed for monolingual conversation classes where the teacher-counselor would be able to speak the learners L1. This methodology is not based on the usual methods by which languages are taught. Rather the approach is patterned upon counseling techniques and adapted to the peculiar anxiety and threat as well as the personal and language problems a person encounters in the learning of foreign languages. Consequently, the learner is not thought of as a student but as a client. The native instructors of the language are not considered teachers but, rather are trained in counseling skills adapted to their roles as language counselors. (novaekasario09, 2011). In this method the teacher acts as a counselor , students can speak their native language to ask something to the teacher, and the teacher have to know how and when help students, also the teacher have to correct students when they were wrong, but in a polite way.with this approach, i will achieve my goal which is the student speak the English language or manage, as this approach is focus on the developments of the competences, It will help to the students get communication.

Teaching practice 6 The method and methodology: it will help to created my methodology as an example, how i am going to starting the class, what i am going to do in the class , what is my goal, and how ,I am going to finish the class, it have to be created step by step, in order to have a sequence of what ,I am going to do in the who class. The strategy thatI will work with some strategies that, I have seem, that are successful, as examples, group work, work individual. Technique: some examples of technique that I will work are: discussions, presentation.
