FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fishtown Neighbors Association Announces 2014 Chili Cook-off

Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA The Fishtown Neighbors Association announces the 4 Annual Chili Cook-Off, to be held Sunday, March 30, 2013, from 1 PM 4 PM at the Skybox at 2424 Studios. Prizes will be awarded for Best Restaurant Chili, Best Amateur Chili and a Peoples Choice Award. Participating restaurants include last years champion Sketch Burger, Loco Pez (2012 Champion), Johnny Brendas (2011 Champion) newcomers Cook and Shaker, Cedar Point Bar and Kitchen, Bottle Bar East, Belgrade Deli, and more. Fifteen residents have also submitted amateur chili for judging and square off against a two year defending champion.
The Fishtown Neighbors Association serves the families and neighbors of Fishtown by promoting community activities, civic involvement, education, and safety and by fostering the smart growth of our unique and diverse riverfront neighborhood.

Celebrity judges include Jen Carroll, Philadelphia native and Bravo Top Chef, George Sabatino - Philly Mags Best Chef 2012, previously associated with Ansill, Monks, Stateside and Cook - and City Paper Food Editor Caroline Russock. Beer generously provided by Philadelphia Brewing Company. FNA will introduce small pours this year. St Benjamins Brewing, opening soon, will be pouring Foul Weather Jack, a 4.5% English ale and Hopligation, a 6% IPA. FNA also welcomes Second Story Brewing, who will be pouring a hoppy Pale Ale. Metropolitan Bakery will again donate bread to sop up the chili and beer. Advance entry of $15 is available online at www.fishtown.org. Advance entry can be combined with a FNA & Fishtown Tavern logo pint glass for only $18. A $10 'chili-only' admission will be available at the door. Advance ticket purchases strongly encouraged. As a continuation of their mission statement, FNA is proud to announce it will be donating a portion of proceeds from each of its fundraising events to a community enrichment th organization.
