Ratnagiri Fort :- Ratnagiri, fort is also known as Ratnadurg, or Bhagwati fort.The fort is situated about 220 km south of Mumbai.The fort was built by The Bijapur Sultans in the sixteenth century.This fort serves as an important base for the Maratha navy. Ganpatipule :- Ganapatipule as the name suggests is a pilgrim center.The temple of self originated Ganesh is more than 500 years old. Situated at the foot hills of Sahyadri hills and adjacent to the amazingly beautiful beach.This beach is well known for its clear water. Tourist likes the cool and calmness of this place. Harnai Murud Beach :- Harnai-Murud is situated in the Ratnagiri district.The palm-fringed beach of Murud is famous for its clean white sands and safe waters.

Vijaydurga :- A huge and strong seafort constructed by Sri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the Waghotane estuary.The fort has hollowed out entrance to take vessels of 500 tons.Sindhudurg's strength was its inaccessibility as it is approachable only through a narrow navigable channel between the two smaller islands of dhontara and Padmaged.

The Northern Konkan

Shriwardhan :- Situated in Raigad district.Peshwas the Prime Minister of Chhattrapatis originally belonged to this place. Adventurous people can take a small boat to the north side of bay and explore a land. Harihareshwar :- Harischandra gadh is situated in Ahamadnagar District.To the left of the road is an imposing mountain wall with three distinctive peaks.The unique feature of this entire mountain range is that the western slopes plunge directly into the Konkan. The edge of Harishchandragad is like a deep pan. Because of its distinctive shape and height, Harishchandragad is a popular trekking spot. Raigad :- This invulnerable & invincible fort was built by Sri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj built in 1664.Stategically built in such a way that its threesides could not be accessed even if attacked by thepowerful armed forces.Tourist attraction at Raigad fort are Samadhi of Shivaji Maharaj, Jagdishwar Mandir, Gangsagar tank, Takmak Tok, Hirkani Buruj (tower) & memorial of Waghya dog, Mena Darwaja, Palkhi Darwaja. Murud Jnajira :- Situated near Alibagh,Murud has beautiful beach and Janjira with it's invincible seafort are located close together.The island fort of Murud Janjira is a famous architectural heritage from a lesser-known dynasty that has stood unconquered for centuries.The beaches at Nandgaon (Ganapati Temple)and Kashid,Palace of the Nawabs and Janjira caves are the other attractions on the way to Murud Jnajira
