Standard Definition:

Product Lifecycle Management or PLM is a term used for the process of managing the entire lifecycle of a product from the concept and design phase, product analysis (Finite Element Analysis) through production planning, visualization and marketing, to the point where the product is trashed by the user (waste management/recycling).

There are two primary components for the PIM Data Hub and PIM Data Librarian. PIM Data Hub is ONLY required by non-Oracle E-Business Suite customers. PIM Data Librarian is the primary component which should be sold to everyone wanting the Hub solution. This is the product which includes much of the capabilities of Advanced Product Catalog including capabilities offered in Family Pack E: Product Workbench. It does NOT include issue & idea management and integration to Projects. Please refer to PIM Data Librarian Data Sheet for further details. For non-E-business Suite customers you will need to position two primary components: PIM Data Hub and PIM Data Librarian. For existing E-Business Suite customer, you will only need to sell them licenses for PIM Data Librarian. They do not need to purchase PIM Data APC is the heart of the PIM Data Hub Solution it is the foundation. You will no longer see APC listed on the Price List.
